Peace be upon all of you. In Christ's holy name I bid you all adieu.
Worshipping God and worshipping satan are both active processes. You are actively accepting God, or you are actively rejecting God. The word I used was "intentionally". Every day a person rejects God, they are actively worshipping satan, they may however not be knowledgeable of that fact.
People seem to think that becoming a Christian/accepting Christ/getting saved is like starting a diet. You admit that you're fat and commit yourself to eating healthier. In that light, I understand the sarcasm and ridicule. But that is not what happens.
A person can only be saved when they see themselves as God sees them. It is the most frightening experience of your life. I encourage you other believers to confirm or deny... but the moment you realize you are a sinner without hope... the closest comparison I can give is that feeling of intense dread you feel when you realize you're going to have a car wreck. That impending dread and doom... multiply that by a million and that's what it feels like. I couldn't sleep for days while God dealt with me. I finally accepted him one night in bed because I couldn't sleep. It's no cakewalk.
But it's not based on what we DO. It's not based on our works. It's not that good people are in, and people who have made some bad decisions, or just more bad decisions than others, are screwed because they've just done too many bad things. That's not how it works.
Why do you think Jesus spent so much time with the tax collectors, thieves, harlots and the poor? These were people who KNEW they had done and were doing bad things.. making bad decisions. They were people who KNEW they couldn't find favor with God based upon their own merit. They KNEW they needed a savior. Those resting on their own percieved good laurels saw no need for a savior.
And once saved, we are changed. I am certainly not the person I used to be. I still stumble in sin, sure. And there are consequences. Salvation does not mean that our sins do not result in consequences. But it does mean that we will not remain in a state of eternal judement and seperation from God.
Well gee... if I were to call her/you a name in here it would get deleted.. right?

Actually Lisa.... deleting the post is the act that pretty much halts all conversation. And as you may recall, no "names" were used in that post.
You made it pretty clear where the bar was set.
He doesn't .. those who refuse to accept His free gift choose His wrath over His love ... I know, it doesn't make sense to me either why someone would choose death over Life when it's being offered so freely
It's not God that's scary. It's seeing ourselves as we really are. Seeing God as he is, that's the good part. The really good part.
Look at sin this way... it's kinda like a gene. Adam sinned... it became part of his nature. We are descendants of Adam... sin is part of our nature.
See, the perspective... where we begin, doesn't really matter. Angels started out in the very presence of God, yet a portion rejected him and thus fell. We start out separated from God, yet a portion will accept him and thus be lifted to his presence. What's important is that everyone has a choice to make from wherever they are.
......The plain truth is that we don't have all the answers you are seeking.
........
There is a veil that covers the eyes of the spirit that is not removed until we accept what we do not see.
2 Corinthians 3
16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
I wish you the best on your journey, kindness, mercy and grace to go ahead and follow behind...and that you may know the true love of God and the fullness of spirit that comes from knowing him....really this is what we all need more of, myself included.
Someone posted earlier that if you sinned it meant that you never really received Christ in the first place. Yet we all sin, it's part of us... god condones our sins as long as we beg forgiveness..... I still don't see how and at the lwhy he'd place a confessed murderer who is "reborn" at the last minute over one who follows a path of love and compassion and devotes their life to charity but happens to be a Buddhist or Jew or Muslim or atheists..... I thought god was compassionate and understanding.... and wanted to save mankind.
...
There is no reason that mature adults can't have a conversation without stooping to name calling. It's not kind, it's just childish. So, I won't do it, and I ask that others don't do it here either.
....
Does mean not calling 2/3+ of the worlds population satan worshipers anymore?

I must admit that I do find it to be very interesting. Based on what you read here.... as far as eternal salvation (and not being damned to a fiery hell for all eternity) is concerned:
Doing "good deeds"... not all that important.
Being kind, decent and respectful.... not all that important.
Following in "the way of Christ"... not all that important.
Not "sinning"... not all that important.
None of those things will get you into heaven and allow you to avoid damnation. As far as Heaven is concerned, they're pretty much a waste of time and energy.
Just accept their God as your personal savior and ask for forgiveness. That's the golden ticket apparently.
As a christian, that is my belief. It's not meant to be name calling, or insulting, but meant to speak the truth according to what I believe to be the truth. Being a christian does not mean that I should lie and not say what I believe, but to be honest with people is in fact showing love and concern. It's not done from a place of malice, but a place of being truthful so that some might be saved because of it.

So you can ask anyone if they follow Jesus and by their yes or no answer you can tell if they're an agent of satan doing the devil's work?
All these seemingly nice people and do-gooder's are satan worshipers in disguise pretending to do good so they can actually do more evil? And god is more powerful than satan and lets this go on for eternity? God needs a better public relations and recruitment agency!!
