I find the stronger juices I like FOB..wakonda, virus,
The others like CB, CLS, frenilla, seem better with time for me.
I was not thrilled with radioactive, which is new to me. Maybe it needs a steeping also. I couldn't put my finger on the taste.
ACB is always good, my favorite.:vapor:

Radio starts to develop at 3 months and is especially good at 6 months.

Atlanta and I are having wicking issues at this point, and that makes me real sad.. it's dark and thick, and I have to dilute it for the Woodvil- even then, the way I vape (key words) gunked coil and killed wick with one session.

next time I get off my bum, I'll snag a pic, describe my coil, and then pick yer brains. I love Atlanta, and I need help!

Space your coil instead of compressing it tight. It works very well for coil gunkers. Provides better flavor and makes your wick last longer.

Hmm, interesting sis. I may dedicate a coil specifically to Atlanta in this way. Thanks for posting this tip. I've never used a spaced coil before but can see where this would make sense for coil gunkers like Atlanta.

That is how we all used to do our coils. The compressed coil trend started with the super-low ohm builds looking for maximum heat and clouds. Not what I would call the best practice for those who want max flavor. But that is my opinion and others may see it differently.

You don't need a lot of space. Start out with just enough space between that you could have another width of the wire you are using. Let me know what you think after you finish a bottle.

This is the same tip Partspro gave me when building coils for the Lemo Drop. So far, it's worked great. Thanks!

I'm actually not a fan of it. Given it multiple tries, it's nearly a full 15mL. I'd be willing to part with it, potentially.

So I'm on day 3 of this Atlanta, and I'm still enjoying it. Perhaps moreso in my Nautilus than dripped (that might just be because of the 6mg nic).

That said, I've been getting hints of banana, and it's pungent in the smell. Someone walked in my office and said, "Banana pudding or banana bread or something?" When I told them "peach tobacco" they were surprised. Very odd, but I guess banana and peach both have those similar sweet notes.

Throat hit is quite nice in a tank, certainly adequate for me.

2/12/15, 12:17AM (EST):

Mmm... For some reason, right now, this Atlanta is really kicking ... in my dripper. Getting subtleties I didn't notice at first, almost can taste the "fuzziness" of the juicy peach. The tobacco reminds me a bit of a Camel Turkish Royal or something, like I said before, it has a certain dryness to it. It's really quite nice, and paired with the juiciness of the peach it's a great combo. I could see this mixing really well with something like The Virus.

Atlanta is definitely a sweet juice, but far from overly sweet. I imagine with some steep time the tobacco notes will heighten, and maybe some more sweetness will arise from the peach. Kind of liking Atlanta how it is right now though, lol. Handed it to a friend who plans to order a couple bottles tonight/tomorrow. Didn't take him more than a few puffs before he was convinced it was a top-shelf juice.

Glad you are diggin' da jooooose nyiddle!~

I've also found going to a larger diameter helps, at least with the Rayon wicking. Going from 2mm to 2.4 (still contact) has just about doubled the wick life for me.

Ditto with my KGD. I like a large diameter loose coil. The larger diameter makes re wicking way easier for me. I like to dry burn and rewick daily. Sometimes twice a day depending on the juice.

That is the size I use. I tried the new microcoil fad for a bit. Went back to the old way of doing things. Better flavor, not a noticeable difference in battery life, longer time between changing coils and wicks. I am a flavor chaser :)

another issue I've been having, probably more suited for one of the Help! stickies.. my coil takes a few seconds to cool down, and I'm sure that's why juice is burning more often.

regarding my immediate issue: reading through your responses now, I think I know where I've gone awry..

I used to use the 14g needle tip to wrap on and decided to try the 16g.. and that is when I started having issues. I do have a beauteous coil going here though, so I'll try just spacing it out a little.

Yeah, I’ve been around the world a bit, too. The 2mm coils are still great for flavor and vapor, and I can do a micro-coil (1.5 mm) in a BCC where juice feed isn’t an issue, used to wind my PT coils on the 1.5 for a while with very good results. Someone in NT land send me a nano-coil once, think it was 1 mm, full contact, and I can’t imagine wicking something like that for tank duty, too much heat in the middle for a thin wick.

Wicking on the 2 mm isn’t bad, either, just gunks faster than I’d want it to. Very pleased at 2.4 mm, and I still have a full contact coil. My Radio tank is in need of re-wicking, I may tug the coils apart a bit and see if it’ll do even better with the nets. Has to be a “heat to wick volume” consideration going on, space the coil (or increase the diameter), that ratio goes down. With my contact coils, I get a very nice vape at 9-10 watts per coil, very efficient, expect I’ll have to bump up a little to match it with a spaced coil. Coils, wicks, or batteries, seems we’re always working on something.

By the way, if you go “out there,” micros are coils of less than 2 mm (I think) diameter, regardless of whether they’re contact coils or not. Better to stay in here, though, folks are way nicer.

Radio is one of the ones that really benefits from the space.

I thought micro's were 1.6mm or smaller and 5 wraps or less. At least that was the understanding I had a couple of years ago.

That is my understanding too.
edit - except the number of wraps doesn't matter in my understanding, only the diameter

I agree with you Pen. I stopped doing compressed coils a while ago. Particularly with a twisted coil one wants juice to be able to flow into the coil from as many points as possible.
