Curious that with all the testing of prototypes that we assume they must have done on the original, that they didn't experience and rectify the centre post moving problem before final release.

They say it is tight from release but people like to tinker and remove them to clean. When re assembling that's where the problem begins. It will shift and touch the inner wall. Others used a paperclip to hold the center block, screwdriver etc.

Nailz, is that the purple? I like it and hope so, as I ordered one.

My first colored glass(es) were the red and the dark black. I highly DON'T recommend the black. It's nearly like a metal tank, and I could not see the liquid inside at all.

Yes @Katdarling that is the purple one, got her the pink too, but she likes the purple better, as the pink is really light in color.

I nearly ordered the black, but did look really dark, so went for smoked instead.

The JFC on mine are fairly loose also, but they work as intended...if not... when you close the JFC and open the top to fill ... if o-ring was not correct, broken..etc.. it would flood and leak like crazy...

@Exchaner .. Is your juice level going down as you vape?

IMO .. if you are new to rayon, maybe go back to what you were using and start there .. :)

@Exchaner .. Is your juice level going down as you vape?

Just barely, and only when I take strong puffs repeatedly.

I will try a new wick using cotton, but quite skeptical if that is the source of my dry hits. Juice is not flowing into the chamber, period.... Changing the o-ring at bottom of the base a second time did not solve the problem either.

I think my tank is either defective, or I am doing something wrong. But what? My other unit is working flawlessly....

@Exchaner sorry IDK much... maybe when you change your wick..double check your coil is burning correctly and at-least 1.5 to 2mm above the airflow..
Make sure your wick is in contact with the deck, but leaving the front juice channel holes slightly exposed.. All I got .. sorry

If you have 2 of these KM3's, try swapping the bases and see if anything changes.

Great idea ricks. I was just thinking of doing that. Meanwhile I switched to cotton and made the tails a little thicker. Waiting for results. I will report back.

Bingo !! Problem solved. No more dry hits. It was either a faulty o-ring, or the tails were too thin. Still puzzled though, why would a thin tail prevent juice from entering the chamber .... And you are right, cotton does taste better.

    Thanks everyone for helping.

@Nailz .. How's the color on the glass?
2 that I got were terrible, especially the dark black.

On the pink and purple the color is fine, even though the pink is really light/faint, if it will last is another thing, also have smoked, yellow and blue coming too.

OK, so I tightened up the center pin on both before re-wicking. The regular KFM3 seems to be OK now, but strangely, the Plus is now leaking from the air holes! Both have nearly identical coils and wicks. Hoping it's just residual from something I did while re-wicking/filling. I was not ready to do a complete disassembly- maybe next time if I'm still having issues.
Yesterday I took out the center pin and the bottom and there was some juice in there. Rinsed it all out, dried, reassembled and tightened the center pin (that damned block will move if you don't find a way to hold it in place!) and no leaking since!

Might have been condensation in there.

I like cotton more than rayon in mine. Always a great vape from the first hit.

What type of cotton do you use? I just bought my first Kayfun (mini 3), and it will be the first time I've tried to re-build. Just reading a bunch of threads to see what might be best for a beginner - wire, cotton, # of coils, etc. Thank you!

I'm not ricks but for a beginner, keep it simple. Kanthal 28g, 8 wraps (coils) and cotton balls (organic from a drug store).

There's a bunch of how-to videos on youtube for the Kayfun 3.1, KFL+, KFv4, etc that are all pretty much similar to a KM3 build. Most of the techniques apply since the build deck is similar across all of them. Just search for "Kayfun build".

This is a good site to figure out what your coil should be reading when it's on your atomizer and mod:
