Now I am really confused. A couple of others like Katya and Swampus recommended right handed coils. You guys trying to confuse a newbee? I guess in the end whichever works to keep the legs away from the air hole ...

Sorry, I'm busy ATM, no time for long explanations. Watch Rip make a right-handed nice coil on his Kuro. That's the build I like for my Kayfuns. Go to 3:20 min.

Good luck. Also, you may want to watch Phil's kayfun videos--very helpful.

Good luck--GTG.

I make the lousiest coil maker in the world, the reason I bought these pre-made coils from Fasttech. Is this a right handed coil?

IMO: One of those legs need to going the other way... (wrong coil).. for these decks.......Keep it Simple :)

Still a counter-clock wise coil no matter what you do to one leg or the other.

Forget and than forget again.... all about that RH/LH CW/CCW.... That coil will work if you un-wrap or re-wrap one and only one leg a Half wrap.

All that matters for these decks is ... laid flat, one leg sticks out left-side and other sticks out right-side.

One of my kayfuns came with a completely different o-ring installed on the bottom of the base than the other two. Different diameters, different thickness. I suspect this is the main cause of the dry hits/leaks many have been experiencing. As you can see from the picture both o-rings are partially torn due to the cheap material used. What does it cost the manufacturer to put in a better set of o-rings , just a couple of cents more maybe?

FWIW, the thinner one is the one you want there.

Exactly magic, because the thick one does not allow the Jfc to completely close down. The problem is they didn't send the thinner o-rings. Here is a picture of how it looks completely assembled. As you can see there is a gap in the juice flow holes.

^^^ Yeah- we pretty much covered this earlier in the thread. Some of the kits, including mine, have a thinner ring that works fine. I have two more of these 4278000 ordered. I hope they don't have the block problems some have had recently. The one I've had for a couple weeks is fine (with the thinner ring installed). I do get a tiny amount of seepage from the bottom- next time I re-coil, I'll try to tighten things up down there. I also ordered a few of these accessories packs for extra rings, etc.

I've ordered the same pack, but until it gets here, I probably would find better o-rings at my local hardware store. What size do you think the o-rings are at the bottom of the base? I am thinking perhaps 10mm by 1mm thick. Or else 9 by 1.

Reposting--it's all been covered in the thread, as Magic noted...

I found this on an Italian website--no idea if those measurements are correct, but it's a start. Thoughts?

Okay. You guys convinced me that I need a KM3 for my vapocalypse stash. Went ahead and ordered the Tobeco version from VapeNW. I'm still using my Erl Mini clone from FT and hope this will be as good (or better), but with less fill leakage and better air control.

Anyway, since this thread is so long, can y'all recap any important stuff I need to do when it gets here?

The o-ring on bottom of the base is most likely 10x1 mm. My local hardware store does not carry these metric rings. Theirs is based on inches. Someone posted a link earlier for an online store that carries the metric kind.
