Did you try putting the bottom of the SS one on the black top to rule out the top piece?

As a matter of fact i haven't,but that sounds like a great idea, definitely help a bit with chasing down the issue.I do have it alot better now, after blocking all the air holes and giving a really hard primer draw,it seems to be getting better,so i think something is partially blocked somewhere, and maybe the hard pull moved it a bit or something. It takes maybe 30 seconds or so now to resaturate verses the minute or so before haha,so i'll give your idea a shot and see what i find out.

Here's my post of great non importance, sort of.
I received my FT type A deck today to replace the one that had one of the four feed holes drilled clean through.
The #16 and 18 o-rings were both 10 x 1.5 mm, changed both to 12 and 10
Grub screw was hex instead of slotted (what ever) crimped the hex end a bit with vise-grips so 1 mm of it would stick out for "no spring"
Minimal burrs to be found.
Beveled the intake holes on the hex of the center post and on the deck.
Got lazy and used the sopping wet wick and coil from the defective (fixed already) one.
vaping like a champ, now where did I put that mini Subtank.

Just rebuilt my black Tobeco. I replaced (16) with a new 12 x 1.5mm and changed the tank o-rings (17 x 1mm).

Coil is built around a 1/8" bit (3.175mm) with 28g ni200, 9 wraps, .13Ω.

I forgot to take a pic of it juiced.

I had great success with Ni200 builds previously but gave them up on tanks as I see little value vs PIA but in keeping up with the trend I replaced my Nichrome coil with Ni200 if for no other reason but to check the way that I eliminated the spring. No picture here but came out 0.16Ω with 11 wraps of 28 @ 2.25 mm ID coil.
I keep my coils almost but not quite touching so as to have as much of the coil directly over the air hole.

No wet pic? How tight do you have your wick in that coil. Is that rayon? I'm still playing with rayon and finding it very similar to my silica as far as flavor goes.

Kayfun v4 Tobeco turning into quite the P.I.T.A. All the parts are so shiny slick polished it is a real bear to take apart or use. Especially the juice flow control ring and the chimney. Maybe I just need to ease up a bit more when I put it together or open and close the juice control , but I really don't crank it too hard. More of a firm tightening.

I do appreciate the ability to fill without flipping it over like a KFL, but damn this thing is fiddly. Thank God i didn't buy an authentic. For 200 clams I would really be disappointed.

For the record, I'm seeing some users of the authentic v4's having wicking issues as well. Specifically I noticed posts from Feb 5th.

SvoёMesto KAYFUN 4 - Page 340

i tends to get dry hits if i take long lung hits.. sometimes i chain vape and this is no good..
it seems the V4 design is more complex than the cloners can do..

I think they were having issues because of too much VG.
I've heard this several times on both threads .... Nonsense imho.

Wife vapes 95%+ vg, she has reactions to pg. Been using the kf4 exclusively the last month with all her thick vg juices .... No dry hits, no wicking issues, no problems chain vaping, no issues whatsoever.

Only issue is it's a freaking fog machine & fills up the room immediately .... She's been vaping on the patio because of it!

I believe it's all in the build for thicker vg juices. I use rayon, finding it wicks better than cotton. And cut my tails long, just stuffing it all down into the chimney. Usually use 28 gauge kanthal at 1.4 ohms and have had no wicking issues. Seems if you're cutting tails to just touch the deck leads to wicking issues.

So went back to v4 after not being to impressed with it to start with. 28awg, 2mm, 1.4 ohm build with ... cotton....have now fallen in love with this atty. Flavour is great, vapor production is good and it's a nice chilled out, lounge in front of the TV can't be arsed with anything type vape! :)

I'm seriously loving the complexity and at the same time simplicity of this atty. I chain vape and it's keeping up fine with a diy 50/50 juice. It's all good!
