Would you be able to post picture of what it looks like?

A picture of the shim?
It looks just like the square hole in part# 3

Lompoc nice! I spent a few years up in Santa Maria/SLO. Was nice and quiet til about 98/99 until all the big box stores started coming in and taking over heh.

I got my notification last night too at like 11pm I think, go figure after I bought another one on Ebay yesterday morning haha. Oh well I get two days of vape mail next week!! Im really loving my new Magma so lets see how this KF4 stacks up!!

Yeah, Lompton...hahahaha. I retired from the Air Force here. I love my Magma. Running at .14 with nickel on DNA40. Flavor is great, and with the DNA40 there's no dry hits

Oh the wonders of technology, a piece of resized tooth pick, a drop of super glue, a hammer and a Dremel. My deck on #2 no longer has a hole in it. Hopefully FT will just send me another base part rather than return the whole thing, either way it's a go on this one.

What, no bailing twine or duct tape?

It depends, I may have had to wrap a strip of duct tape around the atty to get a good enough grip on it to take it apart to pattern the shim. After that I make the template using aluminum foil which I then tape that template to the ss shim stock using Scotch tape and drill the hole in the center and cut it to form with scissors, but no string.

In a few minutes I'm going to build it with ni200, I have already replaced the spring with a piece of brass tubing.
I'm waiting on the mailman to see if the teflon rings that I ordered are close to being right,I expect to have to make #7 a bit thinner.
O-rings 16 & 18 are with the order also.
The teflon rings didn't make the grade but the o-rings are a success.

I got to do a quick build and vape on a Tobecco today. 28g/1.2 ohm single coil. Initial impression being a fairly simple "yup, it's a kayfun". No earth shattering difference in vape quality between it and Artemus's kayfun Lite v2, but i think i'd still want one of my own just for the extras.

Like the Orchid's failed attempt at "replacing the need to drip", it won't get priority over the Magma clone i use when i'm home and sitting at the desk though. Love my Magma :)
Yeah I just got my Infinite Lava last week (they don't call it a Magma now and ditched all the Paradigm logos), had a 6mg bottle of green apple just waiting for it.. Once I FINALLY got the coil installed, that first vape was one of those "oh NOW I see what the big deal about drippers is!" moments haha. I just wish I felt safe taking it to work but the Kayfuns keep the juice out of my pockets while I'm there.

FT type A Kayfun v4 style running ni200, 12 wraps of 28 gauge nickel @ 0.12Ω, 450F, 20 watts. This is the 4th one for me, all have worked flawlessly, one is an original.
Ohm's do not fluctuate, total bliss except for the tiniest machine oil taste (that new car smell)
This is the one that came with the hole drilled through the deck.

Looks real good I can't say it enough.... use enough wicking material like your setup

I'm here.. Working great so far with my 3 pieces of 3mm silica, 30g kanthal, 5 wraps at 1.5Ω set up. My first fill I had the juice valve wide open and made a mess. I was a little confused with the right way to close it. ...... me off after the thorough cleaning i gave it. I think I will definitely need a second one for my other liquid.

Picked up 2 KF v4 clones off ebay. Not sure what vendor clone...
In Stock Kayfun V4 Kayfun 4 Rebuildable Atomizer w Box Manual True 1 1CLONE | eBay

Clones are working very well with kanthal wire. Using large diameter ~2.3 and 2.5 ohm coils 15 -20W.
Resistance with kanthal jumps around very slightly but stable.

Tried 2 different Nickel wire builds and spring in these clones are not working. RDNA40 jumping in and out of temp mode. Not useable with NI200.

With the spring installed it's no good, with a sleeve instead of the spring I have 4 of them working perfect with ni200, even on the original it zucks with the spring.

Ok. I did see your post mentioning a sleeve but didn't find a post describing the sleeve modification. Could you elaborate on your sleeve fix or point me to a previous post/link.

Thanks.

It's a approx 4.6 mm in length piece of brass telescoping antennae from a cheap remote controlled toy. About the same ID as the spring. When in place it's about a mm past the end of the positive post where the air screw lives.Leave it just a fuzz too long so when the liquid control is all the way open there is a tiny gap left, this assures that is is contacted (not too short). Liquid control must be open fully (as far as the sleeve lets it) for it to fire.

This is the first one, they got prettier as I made more.

my kfv4 clone came in. it looks good.. but i'm just staring at it.. i'm not sure what i should do with it. maybe give it to my 13 yr old for his science project in over complication in engineering design.. or just use it as wall hanger... just trying to break this thing down to 41 part was hassle. mean while, aqua v2 is already in use, and my tfgt2 clone came in. both much easier to handle. i was going to do something with it this weekend.. but i'm saving it for my week off in couple of weeks.

Finally got the Type A in the vapemail. Out of the box I would say it was an 8 out of 10 for rushed out clone. I tore the entire thing down (was actually a little scary looking at all the parts). Like I always do with FT items. After inspection there were 4 minor issues. Two of them were #16 and #36 o-rings. 36 was crushed and 16 had a knick in it. Replaced both with parts on hand. The other two problems were with part #17 (the build deck) under the "JC" deck where the intake juice holes hide was a mess. I pulled out a half inch curled piece machining shavings. I also had to clear the juice holes, two of the four were almost blocked by machining that wasn't removed.
Everything else looked pretty good. Cleaned the parts twice with soap and boiling water... came out orderless and squeaky :) . For those wondering the P3 connector works flawlessly with the type A. with it installed it is exactly the height of the 3.1. Everything went back together easily. I applied a tiny amount of dielectric grease to the threads that don't contact juice and the JC works smooth as silk... Just barley snug it at the stops.
Vapes great so far but I find it quite airy... with the AC fully seated it is on par with a 3.1 with the air screw completely removed. Not sure why any one needs the sub-ohm kit you can definitely lung hit this thing with the AC screw turned out. I notice quite a bit more vapor production than my 3.1s or Russian.

Nice mod... a keeper for sure. It will be interesting to compare it to the Tobeco later this week.
