Just want to update progress on improvement of my Robotech clone :
-Removed the shim from #3 that I made previously instead of I thinned #7 from ~0.99 mm to ~0.75 mm. Now, JC movement is smoother.
-Keep 3 mm washer underneath #11 and back out AF screw (#13) about 1 thread. I can run without spring.
Kinda like the outcome of above at this moment.

That's just under .01 difference (.24 mm), was your shim too thick?

Good news ka724!

I don't have a dna40 mod (yet), waiting for the dust to clear and more reviews. But following progress on removing the spring.... This greatly affects using a v4 with temp control, and imho is a long term issue & weakness on this head (along with periodically replacing orings)

Yes, I think the resistance is more accurate now. With spring was 0.15 ohm while without spring is 0.12 ohm.

I got two tobeco v4's and am having leaking issues with both. But what I wanted to mention was I also said that I couldn't completely seal off the afc but others here confirmed it should completely shut off. My afc screw would only go a little past flush. when I first cleaned both of them, I didn't disassemble the deck. So I dissaembled the deck. Taking apart and soaking it in rub alcohol and then the afc screw would go all the way sealing the air flow. I did the same on the other but initially that wasn't enough, I had to scrape in there a bit to get out some gunk.

This didn't completely solve the leaking issues but now it's only when opening closing juice flow control. I have spares delivering, hopefully it's just one of them like 16, instead of having to change them all I'll try that first.

But I posted this just for others even if you like an airy draw and plan to remove the afc screw entirely, ensure you can actually seal off airflow, otherwise you should clean that.

Wow ! Fernand is back ! Are ya lung hitting now ?

Greetings, @Jimi D.! and yeah, doin' it all. The cute detail is that with the massive clouds the nicotine went out the window, sort of like who needs a scope when ya got two 30 round clips taped back to back ;-) The taste is way up, I don't get cold legs. For people with poor circulation, nicotine's a nuisance that way. The wife now complains that I'm "never around", which isn't true at all, it's just that she can't be sure it's me in that cloud ;-)

For my ZNA Clone, View attachment 411365 Just wanted something to keep them in while not in use. Nice and heavy so they won't fall over easily.

Pretty nice, but I could never use something like that, one of two things would happen, My gear would get beat to death going in, and out, or it would somehow end up on my toes! On second thought, probably both:blink:

I have felt where the PV sits. I keep my gear looking like new.

Saw that, try to keep mine in good shape as well, Cement just wouldn't work for me, unless maybe I dipped it in some of that rubber goop. I'd inevitably bang into the cement setting it in because I was paying attention to something else.

I'm not as clumsy as you I guess...
