I'm not as clumsy as you I guess...

I'm an electronics tech, most of what I do is SMT work parts are extremely small, don't think manual dexterity is the issue, I did say distractions? Not sure how you link dexterity with distractions, has nothing to do with clumsy, really not much to debate, if a cement block works for you, great, just wouldn't work for me.

Trying 28g Kanthal, 7 wrap spaced evenly coil, 1/8 diameter with Rayon coming in at 1.2Ω on both my KF4's tonight. Wanting to try something different.

I tried 1/8th (3.1mm), both ni200 and kanthal, and wasn't too thrilled with it. I went back down to 7/64 (2.8mm) for both.

A question jumped into my mind today: Why buy a Kayfun (Or a kayfun clone) when one can get the same experience with something like the kanger subtank + its RBA section?

I have both, they (the deck) look about the same. The Kanger is a bit on the "wild"side but the Kayfun is still the flavor king. I like both.
Maybe why bother modifying a K4 to be a big breather, when you can just get a Mini Subtank.

Edit: I missed the boat on this one, some how I'm thinking mini Subtank but my answer for the full sized Kanger Subtank RBA is different. That one is more like a Kayfun than the RBA for the mini vape wise due to the air hole size difference. Actually I have one of those too but haven't tried it much as yet.

Edit: Much later, put builds in both full and mini SubTank RBA heads. On the full sized RBA I did the same build as K4, it works OK but does not compare to K4.
On the mini I did a 1Ω 26 gauge and that one works quite well, I can't really make a comparison to the K4 on this one as it's a wild one. It would be like comparing apples to oranges.
Now to rebuild a disposable head, the reason why I bought them.

Edit: I thought I was done here but I got my Dremel after that full sized Subtank RBA head and got major improvements but still doesn't even compare flavor wise to the Kayfun 4, it will do some decent clouds though for those into that.

The rebuild on the disposable head was a piece of cake, now back to the K4's

Yazza, man, @dwcraig1. THA FLAVA!

And it's true, I can't see messing with the airflow, or much else for that matter.
Yes, you can get bigger clouds and hand-tune an RDA any which way.

It may be specialized, but the Kayfun V4 is a nearly perfect FLAVA tank machine!

I just got a package of that Japanese Organic Cotton, Koh Gen Do Koga, and it IS as good as they say it is. In fact, there's something amazing about the wicking and the taste.

Since it been 3-4 days, time to replace the cotton on my Kayfun V4, I'm wondering. I've never tried an all Stainless Steel wick on it. I currently use a rolled 400 mesh wick but with cotton end pieces, like this:

Is anyone using a single rolled mesh wick all the way on the V4, you know from the juice feed holes up through the coil and then down the other side?

Has anyone ordered or received the spring update from steamtuners? I ordered it back on the 6th. Looking forward to see if it stabilizes the current. I'm using the fastech A version. Been pretty happy with it after changing out the orings. Although I know the current is fluctuating with the crappy spring.

Yes, I received mine this past Monday. Installed it on my authentic KF4 yesterday and it works perfect now. My KF4 used to read .21Ω with the spring. With the spring update, it now reads .13Ω with the same exact build I have in my Erlkonigins and they also read .13Ω.

Good to know :) So no fluctuation in ohms? is this a good alternative to going springless?

With the Chinese Holiday approaching I ordered the "Complete Kayfun v4 overhaul kit" from an Ebay seller in the US for $9.99 shipped, which has all the replacement parts including the white rings. To think the whole Kayfun v4 was only $20 shipped. I guess I have to get rid of this strange taste or I won't use it any ways.

Happy to hear, I ordered 5 kits, they say they shipped but the numbers don't track. It's nice to know that some were actually shipped !!

I ordered mine on Jan 22. No tracking on mine also. They said I would have to pay extra for tracking but I did not see that option back then.

The strange taste is most likely machine oil. Have you stripped it down completely and thoroughly cleaned it? Stripping down the deck section is important as is removing the afc screw.
