The strange taste is most likely machine oil. Have you stripped it down completely and thoroughly cleaned it? Stripping down the deck section is important as is removing the afc screw.
I did, 5 times so far with every piece and ring removed (Tobeco clone BTW). I figure it must have soaked into the white plastic pieces or the o-rings because I have tried dish soap, vinegar and alcohol to no avail. I vape 9mg non flavored, so maybe I am more aware of it than most.

Once I accidentally forgot to lock my Nemesis with Magma on top for a minute or two and I could not get rid of the burnt plastic taste until I removed the white insulator bowtie thing in the juice well.

I have had my Tobeco clone about 3 weeks now using nickel could and working like a champ in until yesterday. Cleaned and put new coil in and just barely getting a vape. Haven't changed anything seems like the coil just isn't getting the power. Any ideas?

I ordered mine on Jan 22. No tracking on mine also. They said I would have to pay extra for tracking but I did not see that option back then.

Waiting on some replacement glass .... same thing, not supplying tracking numbers anymore, & I also didn't see where there was an option when I purchased it.
Would imagine 95% of their customer service calls are concerning product shipments/tracking .... guess they now see this as a profitable 'value-add'.

Well despite all the info and help from you stella guys here, my KF4 is just not working - Its an Ijoye version (found out today) which ive never heard of before so no idea really.

Ive ironed out all the issues with the JC thanks to dwcraig, and replaced every oring with the originals, and replaced the deck/jc oring with the bigger size to stop leaking down into the airflow part - Also sorted out the the drip tip adapter, the flat parts were not that flat so, filed them flatter...But no matter how i build it, amount of cotton its good for the first 15 pulls then dry hit city, requiring a hard pull or unscrew the drip tip adapter to get bubbles and the process repeats itself. Its annoying me to no end right now, all my drippers are perfect using the same builds so it cant really be me.

Similar issue here with dry hits at first on the Tobeco. In my case it was user error. I didn't have enough Rayon and it wasn't long enough. Once I got that squared away, my dry hits went away. I hope you get it nailed down. :toast:

I received my S kits from VapeTekUSA today and dropped one in the Black Tobeco. Built a .5 ohm dual coil and man does it vape really nice. I can confirm the center post hole is much wider than the stock. It got some nice airflow but it's still a bit tighter than my Lemo Drop.

Sorry about the blur.

I just received my 4S kits from VaporTek yesterday as well. I'll be installing one this weekend. Not so much for sub ohm (although I am running nickel) but more to open the draw up some.

Whelp... after a week with my Tobeco V4 i'm getting leaking inside the bottom deck making a slurping sound and causing an air restriction.

O-ring 16 seems to fit nicely but juice is getting in there somehow... it could be through the air hole... some flooding that seeps down.. no idea.

Any suggestions from other Tobeco V4 owners? Vapes amazing... but now after a handful of hits i get this leaking and air obstruction.

Don't get panicky, just replace 16 with a 12 x 1.5 mm.
What you what to see when eyeballing it is the o-ring is sitting proud in the groove on the corners just about the same where it's straight. On a lot of them the o-ring about disappears on the corners resulting in the leakage you got.
I lube all my o-rings with juice except that one, I use Vaseline sparingly on it

Ok cool, thanks... what i figured but wanted to make sure. I kept hearing about the "small" 16's on the Tobecos. I wonder if HomeDepot or Lowes might have something that fits. I never did order that huge bag of 50 online lol. Go figure.

7/16"ID x 9/16"OD x 1/16" is just a fuzz too big (1/16" is slightly greater than 1.5 mm)
3/8"ID x 1/2"OD x 1/6 is close because it gets stretched but is on the small side..
I didn't see any metric o-rings at home depot. Some folks had good success with thread and dental floss, I used Teflon pipe tape early on, a bit of a pain to put on but it worked good.
