I was wondering if someone could suggest a source for a reliable o-ring set for one of these? I think I'm really going to enjoy using this, but would like to replace the seals with some better quality ones.
This kit was recommended to me elsewhere. Electronic Cigarette Atomizer Accessories for Kayfun V4-1.38 and Free Shipping| GearBest.com I don't have it yet myself, but I plan on picking one up since the Tobeco doesn't come with any spares other than a spring.
For anybody still on the fence about the $9.95 vaporrange deal- mine has been great, smooth threads, no leaks. It was my first kayfun 4 and I love it. Top fill and glass tank are great. I ordered 2 more.

Well the Infinite had a bad machine oil smell. I broke it down completely into a container and gave it a baking soda/white vinegar fizzy bath. Followed with a good rinsing and the standard hot water/dish soap cleaning.

Built a 9 wrap 26g on 2.4mm and wicked with Cotton Labo for tonight. Working and vaping great at 15W with MaxVG juice. I built the coil around 1.2Ω so I could run it on the iStick 20W. The bell cap that came with the Infinite does not allow top filling, so I will have to seek out a different one. I ordered a bell cap for the KFL as well and it is the exact same one that is included with the Infinite V4 package.

The Silverplay has a dual 10wrap 26g on 2.4mm reading 0.6Ω, I am not happy with the wicking on it but it is my first build on that type of deck.

The flavor on the V4 is exceptional and so far no leaking or dry hits.

So very glad to hear Katya!!
I look forward to your thoughts on them.

You're so sweet, Capt'n! I'll report in the Erlk clone thread--when/if I get this thing to work.

On the K4, downloading a copy of the parts list is helpful.

I really didn't need to see that...

Where did you get the Erlk nano?
The Erlk is flawless with a proper wick (fat shoulders, just a tad down channels) - check Q's Erlk thread.

From a friend who was kind enough to part with his two nanos. As you know, they are discontinued and now you can't even get a nano chimney. All gone.

I've been checking Qorax's thread since December... I watched his video... I could write a dissertation on Erlkonigin. The question is if I can DO it myself.

Amazing pictures! I cleaned my Erlk and was just trying to decide whether to go with a 2mm or 2.4mm ID. I want to build it conservatively, like I build my Kayfun: 29 gauge, 1.5--1.8Ω. I'm a tootle puffer.

The 2.4 seems a better choice.
The 2.0, it's hard to get enough 'shoulder' on the wick.
My standard build is:
28g, 2.4mm, 9 wraps, 1.6-1.8 ohms, JOC / 9-10 watts

Do you think it will fit the Tobeco K4 clone? I like the look.
It should, but I can't say for sure. I am going to move the one from the K4 over to the Silverplay but I might try it on the K4 first. It has no way to top fill so you have to use a syringe in a juice hole with the deck removed to fill it.

Thanks, Troll! Don't worry about it--I'm in no hurry (I'm not even sure if I want it--just curious). But if at some point you'll feel like experimenting, please report. :)

And just one last question--does the Tobeco K4 whistle?

Just got my 10 dollar Tobecco, it seems more matte finished unless the 5 monthes of use on my first polished it up, the new one is nice, coiled with 26 guage 3mm, kgd, .7ohm, was aiming for higher , must have used 28 g on the old one, its a keeper, waiting on a 50 watt Smowell from GearBest to go with it
tl;dr VR is shipping both matte and shiny KFv4s. If it wobbles at the joint just above the juice ring, it can be fixed.

The first KFv4 I got from VR was 'as machined' which is to say it looked polished but there are uber fine machining lines that can be seen especially using a 10x loupe. I just cleaned and built one from the second delivery from VR and it has a bead blasted matte finish and this gives it a semi-flat grayish look. Not unattractive, but it looks nothing like the first one. Actually it matches up reasonably well with my Zero's bead blasted cover.

What they do have in common is a wobble when the juice ring isn't all the way open or closed. I got rid of this by taking 0.0075" off the bottom of #8, leaving 0.0005" clearance for the juice ring to turn easily.

On a $10 clone the wobble isn't a real problem as it's rock solid in the open position where it sits 99% of the time. What are you using to machine #8 down with? I'm interested in getting some gold contact springs at some point. Any idea from where and cost?
