Have you tried using rubber gloves to separate the stuck parts? This was an issue I had with a FT version and ended up damaging the evaporation chamber threaded end with vice grips and had to replace it:mad:
Ohms jumping around is usually a bad ground, not the airflow screw or spring. The 510 bottom pin needs to be tight, not loose, as does part #9, unfortunately, doing so generally cause the juice control to tighten. Fix for this is to thin #7 or put a square shim (made from a foil roaster/cake pan into the base, had to also do this to get a stable ohms reading. This is dwcraig1 idea and works well IMO.

The Tobeco is the one most are happy with. I can't comment on the Infinite but hope it is good to ya.

cheers

I tried rubber gloves but no way I could get it apart. Finally had to use pliers to get it apart this afternoon. All scratched up now. I will keep it for parts for the Infinite when I get it. I found a method where you remove the spring and reverse the air flow screw so that it becomes your connection. Supposed to work well but you need to crimp it down so that it will not move. I did not do that and thought it might have screwed down into the bottom base. Don't think that is what happened. Not sure why it would not come apart without the pliers. After I bought it, I read a lot of bad reviews for the EHPro. I guess I have to agree with all of them. The alternative would be that I am an idiot and don't know what I am doing!!! Don't like that reason!!

Not your fault, if it came working as it should as per the kayfun light + there would be no need to apply fix's to all these errors!
Yes, the method of making contact using the air screw can cause the threads of the juice control to bind and get jammed but that is another problem since, if you still had fluctuations in ohms using this method, it proves that the ground is not good due to part #9 not being tight enough with the parts it holds together!
Also, you can get a replacement for the scratched up part from FT for $4..$4.17 Replacement Evaporation Chamber for Kayfun V4 - stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
If you don't concede , I am certain you can have both the Infinite and the EHpro working well, otherwise spares are handy too!!

I will try taking the bottom base apart and put it back together. I was working on it today but the coil I made should be a 1.2ohm (same as I have in all of my other KFs) and it keeps fluctuating between 1.4-1.8ohms and cuts out occasionally. I have some of the replacement parts in my FT wishlist but the base that I want is sold out at the moment and I don't want the black one. Want to try the Infinite and see how that works for me. That one gets good reviews. If I have the same issues then I know that the device is too complicated for me or something. If that works fine then I will work on getting the EHPro working again. They just shipped the Infinite today so will be a couple of weeks before I can try it out. I will let you know how it goes.

I have the Infinite and it works flawlessly.

One safety improvement I like very much with the V4 is the flange that has been added to the deck insulator which prevents the positive and negative deck parts from turning and making contact (especially if using a mech mod), unfortunately the s-kit peek insulator doesn't have this flange so I chopped it off another and slid it down between those parts having once had a hard short due to this issue. Just be aware/beware.

Well, I got the infinite yesterday. Set it up and the ohms were jumping. I took the bottom apart and tightened #9 and now it works great. With the EHPro, I could not get the bottom base apart to tighten #9. I tried again after doing this with the infinite but I cannot get it to come apart. Must be really jammed in there!! I really like the Infinite. Got rid of the airflow screw and the airflow is perfect for my taste.

FWIW, I've had issues early on with K3 and K4 bases sticking and not being able to break them apart. Rubber gloves are good, but the best results I've had was with duct tape. Just tear a couple of strips and wrap them around the two parts, then twist them apart. Once you get them apart, screw them together and apart several times until the threads smooth out. Once you get all the tiny burrs and rough spots smooth they come apart easily.

Duct tape is your friend with these builds. If it doesn't work by itself, you can use pliers over the duct tape without scratching the surfaces. Pliers are better. Channellocks have large teeth that dig into the tape.

Thanks for the advice. Too late for my EHPro!!!!

There's lots of cheap sales on K4 from time to time. I paid about $30 for my first K4. Later on people posted deals and I got two for $9.99 each from Vapor Range. They have the Tobeco Kayfun V4 right now for $9.99. They came in the original box with spare tanks and adapters (steel, short plastic, and full plastic), a replacement spring, and a manual.

There's all sorts of low prices and good quality on their site for a number of rebuildables.

Just an FYI, Vapor Range does not have the Tobeco V4 in stock anymore. It's still listed on their website, but they don't carry it anymore. I contacted them to see when they would get more in, but they told me they are not ordering anymore to make room for new products.

I am good right now. I have become addicted to the Kayfun Monster (have 4 of them). They have great airflow for a Kayfun. Just got a Tobeco KS which I highly recommend for stealth vaping. I also have a Hurricane on the way. I have the Infinite now in my rotation and will work with the one V4 until I get around to placing another order with FT.

I bought the Infinite version that has the extender for the evaporation chamber. It came with a metal extension tube but I read somewhere that I could use the glass tube for the Bamboo RBA instead of the metal tube. I bought a couple of those with the Infinite. They work really well. Adds about 12mm to the height of the kayfun but I can fit 7ml of juice into it.
