I never needed to justify my spending to some random mad dude on the internet who obviously paid way too much for something and needs to take that anger out on someone.
I am not mad nor did I pay way to much for anything nor am I angry. Finally I am not taking anything out on anyone I have been very respectful and polite if you feel this debate has been otherwise then I certainly apologize. I have very strong opinions on this topic and am glad ECF exists so that I can share my opinions especially for new vapers so they have both sides of the debate. I do not apologize for supporting my opinion with facts as I would never expect you to apologize for yours.

Intellectual property and physical property are not the same thing, acting as if they are is dishonest at best.

If you wish to keep your intellectual property, it is on you to make sure you get the protection you desire for it. Some may call this victim blaming, but if you do it before you are a victim, it's just common sense.

Actually, in an actual free market, the consumer is judge and jury. They either buy it, or they don't. If they don't buy clones, the particular clone will cease to be made.

I don't care what your morals are in business, or what part of the world you are manufacturing in. I don't care if you are making a "inspired by" product or an outright copy. Original and genuine or clone counterfeit. If there is no demand for your wares, you can't run a business.

I guess my point is, clones would not exist if people didn't want them. Making someone feel guilty for buying a clone, or thinking you did your Karma good by buying only genuine, is kind of a circle jerk argument that has no reconciliation. Morals, however, do indeed depend on your society. "How you were raised" if you will.

Personally, I don't have a dog in the fight. I own genuine stuff, and I have cloned stuff I own gen watches, and I own very nice fake Rolexes.

Vote with your own wallet. I suppose that's all you can do, no matter where your opinion on this lines up.
All very true hence why different people have different opinions and all are entitled to their own but in a young industry like ours some of us feel it is important to support modders who drive innovation and originality. While there is a market for clones and stolen logos it does not make it right just because there is a market nor does it help the industry. Right or wrong it is important for the debate to be had so everyone new entering the market can see both sides and chose on their own.

Indeed, very true.

But in a truly free market, there is no right and wrong, just supply and demand.

Or perhaps you do not. does it mean copying another persons original logo? ............... I politely agree to disagree with you on almost everything you stand for I am glad free thinking people will be able to read our discourse and make their own decisions.

First off, nice edit in a lame attempt to make yourself look better. For a refresher, here is the "innovation" of all mech mods.

Please, as we've asked before, illustrate the innovation you are so adamant in defending.

I do, however, feel it's a bit disingenuous when a manufacturer wants to talk about morals and ethics when it comes to their intellectual property, and turn away from the laws of the free market, but when it comes to hiring people and paying them a decent wage, they just love to go all "free market" on you.

On the other side of the coin, there are the people who want $15/hr to assemble hamburgers and have health insurance, but then complain when the reality of "living wages" strikes home.

If you want black and white, you just can't have it both ways. If you want a free market, then you get all that comes with it. If you want government protections, and all the regulation that comes with THAT, well - you should be willing to pay the price.

Me? I'm an American. I flip flop like a fish out of water whenever it suits me. True story. How I was raised, I guess. So therefore, I try not to take an immovable stance on either side.

And the "why don't you put out a mod" argument. Right on cue. Once again showing that the "innovation" argument is bogus.

Thank you for playing. We have some lovely parting gift right off the stage for you.

Confused look? You suggested in your post it is all very basic I thought you were suggesting you could do it for $20 a mod?

You know, im sure companies like Super-T are loving the pro-clone group. Not because the pro-clones reall give a rats {MODERATED} about whether or not the logo is "stolen", but because they are providing a quality product at a sufficient rate to satisfy demand. Which is all the pro-clone guys want. That and a reasonable price. $80 for a tube made of titanium? May seem a little steep to some but definitely doable. Especially much more doable than a copper accented stainless steel tube for $250.
