Okay... again, I'm new to this so I'm asking a lot of questions so bear with me...

The VG is really just the portion that makes the vapor, is that correct? If I wanted more vapor then I would need to go with a higher VG content? I'm using 50/50 PG-VG right now. I actually like a lot of vapor. It makes me feel more like I'm really smoking. I'm kind of afraid to order anything online because I'm not sure what will work with the e-cig I have (eGo 900). I would hate to order something that won't work with it. I've looked a little online, but a lot of times things look right, but just won't work. Suggestions?

You'll get vapor even with PG, just that VG gives more of it. PG tends to provide more "throat hit" according to many, with VG providing more "lung hit".

Either is fine to use with an eGo 900, though as you go to really high VG % you may have trouble with wicking in cartomizers (the VG is thicker, so it saturates things slower). Even a little bit of high proof alcohol will result in a thinner VG eliquid, easier to use in a cartomizer.

Exactly, how do you achieve this? Do you tape it to your mouth, or do you use some sort of elastic accessory? Just wondering :)

My mods are manual but, as previously mentioned, 1 or 2 auto batteries are good to have for when you want to be able to use your hands while vaping.

Hubby and I ordered the 808d kits from V4L. He preferred the auto batteries and I preferred the manual ones. I would recommend 3 to start with, so you could get a combination. I was very pleased with V4L, but we upgraded to box mods from madvapes.com fairly quickly because those batteries last longer. Madvapes has a 510 box mod starter kit now which takes away some of the fear about what to buy. Assembled 510 Box Mod Kit It's 45.99.

My question here is... have any of you used this device and, if so, do you have any advice for us? Is there anything we should look out for? Is there a better brand (reasonably priced) on the market?

I suspect that the percentage of people here at ECF who have used an eGo or an eGo clone would amaze you. :)

You'd get much better response by starting a new thread with your question, but in short, the eGo is a very capable and versatile device that should get the job done for just about anybody. As for brand, there is only one true eGo, and it's made by Joye - the rest of them are clones. That does not mean the others are inferior, some clone manufacturers have actually improved on the original design.

Are there better brands out there? Well, in my opinion, and in the mass market, no. There are certainly mods out there that are far superior for various reasons - but comparing an eGo to a ProVari or a Darwin is really like comparing apples to oranges. Then again - that comparison may be a moot point anyway, you did say "reasonably priced". ;)

Start a new thread with this question tho - you'll get a ton of great information. :D

One more thing I didn't see mentioned in the auto vs manual discussion:

An auto will require a certain amount of "pull" or draw to keep it switched on. If you draw too light, it thinks you have stopped and it shuts down the coil.

With a manual, you are in complete control, so you can draw as lightly as you please. That will allow you to actually get all of the vapor that was produced. The advantage to a light draw is that you get more flavor.

I know that last bit sounds counter-intuitive to some. Look at it this way... That coil is only going to create a certain amount of vapor over a given time (while it's activated). If you draw in hard, you will pull a lot of air through and the vapor will be mixed in. But a slower air flow means that the vapor is more concentrated, giving you more flavor. It's oposite of a cigarette where you draw harder and that speeds up the combustion process and produces more smoke. (hot-boxing)
