why doesn't everyone use AW 18650s instead of 25rs if they are both 20 amps but the AW is 3000 Mah?

I don't understand why everyone doesn't.

Sorry. Couldn't find battery thread
I'm in the US, so for me it came down to price and stock available. Different countries with different shipping rules may change things for those folks.

I got my AW's for the Provari because Provape had the button tops in stock, and adding a couple of batteries at the slightly higher price bumped me up to free shipping for the order. I only need these for the provari 2.5's.

I get my flat-top Samsungs from Ilumn because he has good prices, good stock, and I know I'll get real ones from them. I get free shipping from him too if I order enough. My preferred mods use the flat tops, so I have more of these.

Cool. These ones are flat top and 3000 Mah but they are nearly double the price of samsungs. I don't think it's worth double but I would like them

I use 25Rs almost exclusively. They're cheap and perform well. For 26650's I use the Green Efest. Same thing, affordable and perform well. I don't see an advantage at sampling batteries. I buy from reliable dealers like Illum or IMR. I just want them to work.

Fair enough. My maths is poor. Edit: told you. Forget it.

There are a few good quality 3000mah 20a CDR batteries available.
Samsung 30q
Lghg2
AW
Sony vtc6

Rate of discharge & heat have more to do with cell life than depth of discharge.
( as long as you don't discharge below your specific battery's minimum voltage)

Thanks, found these
2x 30A Torchy (Samsung 30Q) 3000mAh Flat Top 18650 3.7v Li-ion batteries +case

Torchy is recommended on here a lot. I don't know why he has rewrapped these Samsung. Is that ok?
+ they are called 30A batts But mooch's tests said 20 safely, I'll go with mooch but the seller is good. Why over estimate?

You'd have to ask torchy why they chose to rewrap & erroneously label them.

All you have to do to find all the battery tests mooch has done is click on his blogs or scroll through this sub forum.
The vtc 6 should be in the first few pages.

Thanks TE, I just put the name of the battery in the search engine and it usually has himself as one of the first posts.

The VTC6 :nah:
30q :nah:
VTC4
25r
LG HG2

K. I might get some LGs and I'll get more of the AW 18490s as they are the only size good batteries I can get from a recommended company atm

Edit: simple reading skills and judgement but the :thumbs:/:nah: method suits me just fine. I wonder if I'll have to use the dreaded '' point any time soon.
Hope not.

Right. The main question. But... You won't use a VTC 4, why?
You may not need them but it's the only recommended battery to go as low as .3 with.

I rarely do that so I just wanted a battery which can perform with longer life for me,
If they are the same price (which they are for me, basically). £6.49 for the q and £6.99 for the LG.
For 50p I would rather have higher CDR of the LG. rarely use it but it's more versatile if I should choose to change my vaping.
I'm generally at 1.2 on a mech so it really doesn't matter. I use 18350s some of the time so... But no Sonys?
Why?

There are LG batteries that are good for lower resistance builds than the vtc4.

Any battery made by AW, LG, Samsung, or Sony is a great battery as long as they are authentic and purchased from a reputable vendor. Choose the battery you need by the application that you'll use it. Often, this is determined by amp limit (CDR) first, and then choose the one with the highest capacity (mah) rating.

I use a pair of Sony VTC4's in rotation in my mechanical mod. I'm running 0.6 ohm coils with it. Depending upon where you buy them, Sony's can either be pricey or comparable to the other major brands. A couple of years ago the Sony VTC 4's were the top battery available for sub-ohm vaping, but Lg has taken over that distinction with their true 30 amp CDR batteries.

I used to use AW IMR batteries exclusively in my Provari's. I found them to be extremely consistant in quality. I used the older 18350, 18490, and 18650's. I don't use my Provari's much any longer because my vaping preferences have changed, but I'll never get rid of them. AW's, at least here in the States, generally are a little pricier than their counterparts from Lg and Samsung.

I use the brown LG HG2 3000mah 20A and AW 3000mah 20A batteries (married threesomes) in my RX200 regulated mod. The AW's perform identical to the Lg's; in fact Mooch suspects the AW's are re-wrapped Lg's, and since both are made in Korea, he's probably right.

I've used a pair of Samsung 25R's, and they are a very good battery. One of them inexplicably died (vented?).

At the Level of 3000 mAh / 20A there are only 3 manufacturer (OEM´s):
1. LG HG2
2. Samsung INR18650-30Q
3. Sony VTC6
In some countries you are legaly not allowed to sell industrial batteries, because they are missing important Information for normal consumers. Brands like AW, Torchy and others are rewraping the batteries and customize the batteries for private consumers.
As Long as those rewaraping Brands are using the technical specifications of the OEM´s - everything is OK.
Mooch tested many Chinese "Brands" that just invent "new" batteries with exaggerations on capacity and CDR. That is why still many People buy OEM batteries, they are fed-up of being lied.
From my experience one of the problematic issues using OEM-batteries is the fact that their shrink tubing is very thin and would be easily damaged. The risk of short-circuit is therefore higher.
