Sounds like an issue with the center pin (common problem due to overtightening) , have you tried pulling the pin out with a flat-head screwdriver? Just make sure you're not pressing the firing button when adjusting. If you have a multimeter you can use it to check the battery status as well as determine if the charger is functioning correctly (don't attempt if you've never used a multimeter).

There are YouTube videos out there showing how to do this if needed ... might be worth a shot given the battery is of no use to you in it's present state.

Just keep in mind that there are wires attached to that pin so you don't want to pull it up too far! :)

Sorry for pulling a noob here, but I can't find any videos on pulling that center post up. It's a very tight space, so I'm not sure how a flat head screwdriver would help. Would a tweezer give adequate grip to pull it up? Wouldn't it get pushed down again once you put it on the charger or a tank?

Center Pin Issue - Fixing a non firing eGo battery - YouTube

Use the side as leverage and pry the center pin upward, you might have a difficult time with a tweezers due to the tight space. To avoid the issue in the future, don't overtighten when screwing on to charger or to eliquid delivery device.

Thanks for the video. I watched, it tried, and it still failed sigh. There must be a connection because on the charger I get a slow blinking light. Off the charger I get nothing.

Speaking of, does anyone know what a slow blinking light is supposed to mean?

Thank you! I was using "Spinner" in my search terms, so didn't find this.

After more research, it appears the spinners for some reason are very susceptible to leaking tanks/clearos/cartos, perhaps due to the looseness of that center post.
Some are recommending pulling out the spinner head and letting it sit in a bag or cup of rice overnight. Reassemble and charge. Oh, and apparenlty you're supposed to set it to 4.2v to charge. Dunno. Worth a shot.

Ok, what do you mean by pulling out the spinner head? Which part is the head?

Have you tried swapping the atty to another devices and vice versa to make sure that it's battery that's causing the problem?

Not sure if you have a DMM or how comfortable you are to work with one, but here's a youtube video on how to test the battery using a DMM (starts @ ~0:30). A fully charged charged battery should be ~4.2V.
How to test battery voltage and atomizer resistance. - YouTube

If all else fail and the device is still under warranty, contact the vender for a RMA number and mail it back for a refund/replacement.

Not going to keep reading the BS through the whole thread.

Never charge over night - To avoid an accident like battery short starting a FIRE. As to the charge/charger the battery should be fine on a charger well past the full charge point, assuming a good charger.
Ego type chargers read and regulate charge.

If your battery is under a month, see if the Dealer will help out. Many offer some warranty.
Sounds like a defective cell or it may have a broken contact internally. I repaired similar a few weeks ago.

LOL sounds like you just got a bad unit. Happens some times. Hope your vendor will help you out. I've been vaping for over 3 yrs. now and never a inccendent. Very rare for a batt. to just blow up. The ones that has is because they stack them. If you see something odd just toss it. But please don't be afraid to vape, it will be the best thing that will happen to you.

Yeah....

You have one course of action now....it's bad, and shouldn't be (unless it got wet or something). So check the return policy and return it for refund/exchange.

Doesn't matter WHY at the moment...

Next time...watch out for leaks, and clean the contacts once in a while. Try not to charge overnight if you can avoid it. Make sure you get a kit with a charger combo and maybe even label the charger so you know what PV it goes with if you have multiple (and you SHOULD have backups).

You DO NOT need another device. Although the ones with swappable batteries are nice because when the battery dies...it's $5.00 to replace it. They usually requires an external charger too. You don't take them off-line, just swap batteries.

Yes, like I said earlier, I have heard but ONE dangerous battery story in my entire life. The guy at the ecig store was carrying around his extra PRovari batteries in his pants pocket along with his keys... The right ends were touching and poof! Burned a hole right thru his jeans and ended up with a pretty bad burn on his leg. But aside from that, I've never heard of anyone phone, laptop, tablet, portable gaming etc etc spontaneously blowing up or anything. I did have a laptop be recalled once though, because of the battery being a fire risk. I will err more on the side of caution with my ecigs though. I seriously doubt that the manufacturing plants that make these things are really regulated nor do they seem to care about quality control. But even so, I appreciate the notion that its more of a faulty device issue than a faulty user issue.

Are there any petite units out there with swappable batteries?

Like AttyPops said, you don't NEED another device, but you do need a backup.

My spinner is my backup to my beloved VAMO  it's one with the swappable battery feature, I wouldn't call it "petite" though, but anyways, the Vamo may appear larger in pics than it is in real life.

I love my Vamo, I was surprised when I got it because the pics online made it seem SO much bigger than it really was. I took some pics one day in an attempt to help people see it's true size so they can decide if they want it or not. The Vamo can be used in a couple of different lengths, depending on whether you use a short 18350 battery or a longer 18650.

First picture shows the Vamo in 18650 mode with some common everyday things for size comparison, including some loreal mascara and my pink 1300mah Vision Spinner.

ETA: Left to right pictured: SMOK Tech 900mah designer battery, 1300mah Vision Spinner, Mascara, a quarter, the VAMO, and a $5 bill. Sorry I forgot to be specific in my original post :)

Here it is in shorter mode with the 18350 battery.
