BEHOLD: The absolute perfect tobacco flavoring and nicotine extraction method.

So we're probably actually looking at getting more flavor than nic? Which might still work for me since I now have the 48mg unflavored juice to start with.

So if I add one of those packets to (how many) mls.....I could end up with a good tobacco flavor?

TB, if you experiment with this and your 48mg, let us know how it goes. I do have to cut the 48 a bit but (easily) making my own tobacco flavor would be a plus.

Just curious where you got that adorable "thankyou" smiley?

The highest has 17 mg of nicotine, that is the same as 1.7% nicotine in tobacco. And they have 5% salt added, so there is more salt in it then nicotine. And that salt is not a good thing, the snus has a high amount of water as well. When using snus as it should be used, only 10 to 20% of the nicotine gets into the blood stream.

So after taking everything into account, they are using water and ph levels, to adjust how much nicotine gets to the blood stream. We are talking about a normal cig's nicotines worth here, from weak to strongest, it's about the same only you have high water, and salt levels to deal with with snus.

Hey Tims, you said "salt is not a good thing", I am soaking camel snus in 10ml of unflavored and it tastes great, I was poking around to see it the salt was a problem, what do you know that I don't about vaping the salt?

Thanks in advance.

Uh....to dispel rumors, snus soaking works for flavoring, but won't give up hardly any nic unless tucked between the cheek and gum. Also, the 10-20% figure comes from a 30 minute use, I normally leave a portion in for a minimum of 1 hour, but usually 2-2 1/2 hours and I get quite a large amount of nic during that time. 5% salt isn't very much in a portion, but some snus do go higher. Hope this helps those who thought different :).

How much tobacco is in one of the snus pouches? I'd like to try this with loose snus but I'd like to figure out the proportions first.

A full-size portion has about 1 gram of 'baccy and the mini's are 1/2 gram :).

what i done was took 3 reg cigarettes
took out the the tobaco
added boiling water
made like a tea simmered for 10 min
sieved out the tobacco leaves
boiled and reduced the water to about 10 ml
of a very concentrated juice flavouring
added a couple of drops of this to 10ml vg
now have perfect tobaco flavoured ejuice with a very low nic count
just perfect flavouring
... and what was the reason you started vaping?

Seems to me all your getting is a concentrated formula containing those 4000 chems you are trying to avoid. This time they are not being burned off, you're getting the full "montey". Why don't you go back to smoking?

I want to thank everyone for this thread. I'm sitting at the Pilot truck stop near Dayton, OH and popped in and found they just got these in today - bought the Marlboro Rich and Mild and and whipped up a batch!

I took an empty 36ml bottle, popped the top and plopped 3 packets in, added 10ml of 36mg unflavored and microwaved on medium for 10 seconds (until about baby bottle hot), recapped and shook the bottle and viola! dripped the juice into another bottle through the drip nozzle and the results were astounding and so easy!! Perfect tobacco flavor without paying $20 for it, a pack of the new Marb' Rich was $1.75 for 6 pouches!

as far as health risks, i'm sure doing this negates at least some of the safety of not burning tobacco - i'd say this levels it to somewhere at or less than chewing tobacco (mouth cancer, throat cancer and different type of lung cancer risk) but considering the lack of potency and direct contact with mucous membranes, the ultimate risk must be on a factor of a power of -10 compared to chewing tobacco and -10,000 compared to smoking. We still aren't stinking up the air and our clothes, rotting our teeth and gums with the heat associated with smoke. This I can live with at a minimum of guilt.

I have been making my own cofee flavour for some time. I add instant granules of expresso cofee (2 good teaspoons) to 20ml of neat standard strength vodca in a small tubular bottle.Shake well and leave for several days shaking well when ever I remember. After a couple of days put the bottle in the fridge and leave overnight. You will find the contents have seperated into a dark but clear upper layer of cofee liquor and a lower muddy layer containing the undissolved solids.Simply dropper off the upper layer and add to your nic juice (in my case French Pipe),the more you add the stronger the cofee flavour.

to remove the sediment, use a centrifuge. you could also use anything that spins at a high speed, such as a disc sander, or perhaps, attach a sealed cap plastic bottle with a tie-wrap to your hubcap and take it for a spin. i think hobby centrifuges would be cheap. i'd imagine they even have them drills. you could probably make your own. you want it to ideally sit at a 45 degree angle... like this... /_|_\ ... they test soils like this to determine amount of clay, sand, and other content.

you can put the material in alcohol or water (i forgot what we used in chemistry class to make aspirin), give it a spin, and the sediment will be pushed to the bottom. instead of draining off the liquid for the aspirin, you would discard the sediment and keep the liquid. you probably wouldn't want to spin it too fast for too long or you'll end up with everything at the bottom and only alcohol at the top. you would then heat the liquid to get rid of the alcohol and water, leaving you with the purified liquid flavor. you would then add this to your nicotine pg/vg liquid.

Sorry but was there any consensus on this thread
about using loose tobacco?
I am out of juice but i do have a packet
of dried-out American Spirit from my former habit,
and a bottle of PG.

I'm confused because OP said
there probably wasn't much nicotine in the snus product,
that it was mostly for the flavor,
then someone else said we're using the snus
because the nicotine content is quantified,
and we don't want nicotine poisoning.

"Experiment complete.
Begin test vaping.
Am I crapping myself?
No!
Keep vaping!"
After all you folks have done for me i'd be your guinea pig
for just about any experiment,
but i have to draw the line at crapping myself.

Heck, maybe this just means it's time for me to see
if i can get along without any nicotine in my juice.
But i wasn't quite ready for that.

OK so i got to town and bought a tin of Camel "Frost" snus;
it has a very minty odor, so i thought it might yield a minty juice.

Not wanting to fool around, and reading about the guy who tried four packets
but didn't get much out of it, i did....

- 10ml (~2tsp) VG
- 2 packets snus
- Soaked for one hour, stirring occasionally
- At about one hour, smoosh packets to get brown goodness out, soak a bit longer
- Remove packets and squeeze remaining brown goodness.
- Got a few particles in my juice, maybe squoze the packets too zealously.
- Diluted with 2.5ml (~1/2tsp) distilled water, which may have been a bit too much.

First impressions... (dripped directly on to atty crudded with leftover chocolate toffee)...

- Minty flavor seems to have diminished in the process, if it was ever there.
- Very strong tobacco flavor, much as OP described, very much like smoking a cigarette as opposed to the "tobacco-flavored" juices i've gotten commercially and which my wife has dubbed "dirty sock flavor" and refuses to permit in the house.
- Nicotine delivery inconclusive. (I *think* that i caught a buzz, but i've been vaping really low-nic juice.)
- I have not crapped my pants.

Personal observations...

This is probably not for me.
At minimum, owing to cigarette-like flavor,
it reminds me too much of cigarettes.
I'm glad i don't smoke anymore,
don't want something that tastes so much like smoking.
Also concerned about the chemical composition.
So i will probably cut it with more VG and chocolate toffee,
and it will get me through until i get some juice ordered.

In any case ^there's another experience to add to the experience kitty.
Sorta strange, that my results seem similar to OP's description,
when he used only one packet in an ounce of PG.
Maybe PG is better solvent, or quicker, than VG?

Anyway bottom line i DO have juice, and i have NOT crapped myself.
So kudos and gratitude to OP,
thanks,

- joe

I had to try it.

Got tin of Camel Mellow
Put 1 packet in 6ml bottle and topped off with PG.
let sit for 3 hours shaking about every 15min

Not bad, little bit of a sweet tobacco taste.

Tried again next day (about 10 hours later so..13 hours)
Tasted like tea...... with honey...!?
maybe its just me

Also left the packet in the bottle and added to carts without removing packet. Atty clogged pretty bad

and there you go

And I love it, even without flavoring. I put 10 packets of Camel mellow snus into a brown bottle with 50ml of VG. I put it in a dark cabinet for three weeks, taking it out and shaking occasionally.

I then added 70ml of pg to thin it, removed packets and squeezed them to remove any juice. Then I strained it through a very fine tea strainer, returned it to the bottle and I have 120 ml of Ejuice for about $5.00. I've flavored a few samples of it, and it really produces vapor. I don't know what the total nicotene level is, but can't be too high, but it definitely has nic in it. Vapes well just as it is.

No more
