I prefer to use the little black box meters for testing atties fast. Cheap multimeters will not self-zero and so it's a little more involved to get a reading from them. If all you care about is detecting a short or not, then they're fine.

I agree, those box types are very convenient, but Robert recommends building on and, testing on, the mod, so that's what I do.

I only have a VVG so you all are confusing me about the switch. Is it on the bottom and not inside like the VVG?
Correct on the Wood mods there is a switch on the bottom, you can see it in this photo

Wow I am having a rough time here.:unsure: I got it to squonk ok. But nothing happened when I tried to fire it. I notice those posts stuck up pretty far, and I am wondering if the tip I put on it might be hitting them{it's metal}? Maybe I should go try the tip that came on the RM2? Will it fit? I went ahead and put the batteries on the charger to make sure they are charged up.{should have done that yesterday}
