So..here is an update: I can now think of myself as an intermediate squonker, I do believe. I still have some fine tuning though I think.
Madame 'Oer has had major surgery. She is doing great though and has a whole new LP body to show off.
Unfortunately my camera battery is on the charge, but as soon as I can I will get pics.
I sent off the grand to get lp-atized by the master of the REO's Mr. Rob.
I have a new SL TRA door to go on it when it returns. It will get an aluminum button.
I have already thought of a name that should make you smile.:)

i run my RM2's at at least a 1/16" hole. The ones i use most are generally at about 5/64".

HRH resolutely sticks to her stock ones and that's fine. She's not interested in clouds.

Nice old Reo there - i have an old woodvil with the engraving and hole like that too - yours looks a lot better, much warmer looking wood.

Thank you mr superT. Not sure what size he did it, at least 1/16th or bigger. Sadly the woodville no longer is mine.:( Long story...it was rattlerX's..he wanted to trade, so I sent him a white SL LP grand and the trade was made. Then, my hubby got one look at it and was very{overly} concerned. It looked scary to him. So I sold it to olefolks, who in turn sold it to Spydro. So ol' James Dean has been around the block a few times lately. I thought it was beautiful, and rattlerX took stellar care of it. But thanks just the same.:)

What's the low limit on a Hana? I'm likely under it.

T

ST don't quote me on it but I think the Hanas don't behave well under 1.0-1.2 ohm. I have a Plume Veil on one that has a build with a dual 1.1 ohm and it vapes great! But I think that sub ohm is not recommended on them. I don't go lower that 1.0 on any of mine. But that's just me ;)

From what I am seeing there is a lot of argument to using a regulated device for anything in the sub-ohm range. Why is that? Not that I need to be blowing clouds like Mt. St. Helens anyway....a little bit is fun. I just want to be safe always. I am using sony VTC5's in my Hana. I am also wondering what the limit will be when I get my segelei 100 wt mod.
Another question~I saw Rob mention using your multimeter to test the ohms while your atty is attached to the Reo, To save the 510 connector/threads from attaching and detaching often.
How do you do this?

Touch the leads together (after setting to ohms) to get the resistance of the meter. After it settles, remember the number you got (something like .1 or .3ish). Now just touch the leads to the screws that hold the coil in place, one on each, color doesn't matter. After that reading settles, subtract the first reading.

If you mean how low a ohms can a Reo go to? With the gold contacts .3 with no problems. As you approach .2 you get into an area that might cause problems if you take really long hits.

Two issues with regulated going low sub ohms. The chipset might not support it. but the bigger issues is for the ones with built in batteries, you don't have any specs on the battery cells themselves so they might be being pushed at too high an amp load and then you risk thermal runaway and melt down.

Some meters are calibrated to include the leads already, so a reading of 0 is also possible and fine when you cross the leads.

These have batteries that can be removed. One is the Hana V3, it has a single Sony VTC5 18650.
And I just bought an Axis, which takes two 18650 batteries, is regulated, but claims it is made for sub ohming.
.2 sounds nuts.. The kid at the B&M I went to Saturday was running a .1 on a mech, and hitting that thing straight off the top, no tip even. Using some off brand of battery. Scary.
Something in the .5 to .8 range is more than likely something I might try. I might not even like it for that matter. From what I was reading earlier, it seemed the biggest argument was that people with mech mods needed to run sub ohm to experience clouds or flavor. And with a regulated device you just crank up the power, but keep the build in a "safer zone"..say 1. ohm or higher.
Thanks guys
