How do others feel about the posts from some of the QSMB people that they are concerned about their quits. That bothers me and I'm trying to wrap my head around it.

Trying to guiltt Fred into running us out is my thought. If the stress really bothered them they'd stop looking for it.

Good mornig all!

Still not approved yet. Makes me sad, because I would like to contribute. Just saw a post from someone having trouble with patches sticking because of humidty. I've had trouble with them while windsurfing so I used clear athletic tape. It seriously looks like clear duct tape, and it worked, very, very well. <sigh>

Anyway, still catching up. I want to respond to some posts here, but gotta feed my coffee-monkey demon a bit more first so I can be more sensible. :)

I figure it's because vaping offers them a way to cheat without FULLY falling off their wagon, and they doubt their resolve in the face of such a possibility.

If they put half the effort into keeping their inner demons at bay as they do browbeating anyone that doesn't follow their lockstep, they'd be comfortably quit and not threatened by alternate methods.

But now ecigs are in their face. I for one am only posting in the e-cig section from now on. Jus sayin

Surely out in the real world they have to be around cigarettes sometimes. I know I couldn't get away from them whenever I was trying to quit. I don't think we should talk them up all over the board perhaps not even mention them anywhere else but to not post at all that's not going to help them if you think about it.

Alright fonedude do you have a real 1st name btw? I'll give them the benifit of the doubt and follow but it they follow us in there I'm no longer going to be concerned. If they do that then we're not their issue they are their own issue.

Kind of sad though that means we can't offer anymoral support or congrats to anyone not using the e-cig.

I think there are different schools of thought at play here. There's quit smoking and quit nicotine. There are hardline quit nicotine viewpoints, but that doesn't seem to be applicable there. whyquit.com has that. QSMB endorses the usage of NRT, so in reality, it's a little of both. It's a little of quit smoking with a side effect of quitting nicotine. There are plenty here at ECF that want to get to 0mg of liquid, that's undeniable. There are also plenty here that want to continue nicotine in there liquid and that's fine, but it probably doesn't need to be there. I understand their viewpoint, as only applicable to the second type of vaper, I disagree with their viewpoint as it applies to the first type of vaper. To completely ignore that there are vapers out there on 0mg juice or those that want to get to 0mg juice, does a disservice to those people. For a support group that wants to have that end state, it's close-minded to think that PVs are for nicotine usage only.

Well we may as well suck on a straw they say...which makes it obvious they have no concept of what vaping is like but perhaps its best for those people (having made their choice) that they don't.

I haven't been approved either. I tried about four or five times. None of my posts were negative or pushing e-cigs, although two of them were in response to some of the nastier posts made by the mob.

So, QSMB is attacking PVs and why they are not recommended by Drs. I have a question then. What was their view when Chantix was not “FDA Approved”? Did they attack that too? It seems to me that they are attacking something because it’s not FDA approved. If and when the FDA approves the use of PVs as a way to quit smoking, will they continue to bash them or will they accept it for what it always has been – a way to STOP SMOKING! Nothing more, nothing less. The reason it’s not FDA approved is that it’s so new. So many people are using these compared to a few years ago, and it’s working. I agree that some may not want to quit the nic, but it does not mean that they want to keep smoking. I fail to see the logic when certain QSMB members say that those who do not want to quit the nic, or who have not quit, may as well keep smoking. To me, that is like telling a crack addict that they as well keep hitting the glass pipe because they started smoking cigarettes… How is this any different from someone using NRT for extended periods of time?

My name is Gary. Im not trying to influence anyone else. That's just what I plan to do. I only mention it to get other viewpoints. And I reserve the right to change my mind again at any time. You know me. :p

I imagine their view is more along the lines of what difference does it make if you intake a drug up your nose or in your veins. I can undertsnad their view on the nicotine I really can even though I'm not in complete alignment with them. I want to cut it out myself but I don't demonize it and I'd also like to cut out the caffeine.

Two issues I have: The false assumption that no one that uses e-cigs wants to give up nicotine....horsecrap. I do my husband does I've seen others on this board that do and some that actually have.

The fact that they cry and holler about how bad addiction is (in and of itself) yet there are strong indications that what they actually mean is nicotine addiction only. Being addicted to alcohol, caffeine and whatever else is fine....sillyness.
