I hope you're kidding-otherwise thats not very nice. Why not just enjoy your victory.

Look at the pot calling the kettle black. Methinks you might be the last person to preach to me about being "nice". Besides, ya'll are about the "tough love" over there ;-)

I read a great deal of the responses posted on the other forum and all I can really say is...wow! Close-minded at it's finest! I couldn't believe how rude, insensitive, and all around nasty a lot of those people were. I have all the respect in the world for people who are able to quit smoking cold turkey because I have never been able to do it for longer than a week. I simply lack the willpower to do it. As of today, I am now 20 days smoke-free and I feel great! I know without a doubt in my mind I could not have done it without the aid of my PV.

The thing that shocks me the most was that these people couldn't even give credit where credit was due. We are all kicking the habit so who cares HOW your doing it! If you have to stand on your head while wearing a coconut bra and hum 'Poker Face', who gives a s**t, YOUR GETTING AWAY FROM CIGARETTES! The big picture obviously eludes them and no amount of logic and reasoning will ever open their eyes. I could go on all day about this topic...but I won't. :p

I imagine their view is more along the lines of what difference does it make if you intake a drug up your nose or in your veins. I can undertsnad their view on the nicotine I really can even though I'm not in complete alignment with them. I want to cut it out myself but I don't demonize it and I'd also like to cut out the caffeine.

Two issues I have: The false assumption that no one that uses e-cigs wants to give up nicotine....horsecrap. I do my husband does I've seen others on this board that do and some that actually have.

The fact that they cry and holler about how bad addiction is (in and of itself) yet there are strong indications that what they actually mean is nicotine addiction only. Being addicted to alcohol, caffeine and whatever else is fine....sillyness.

Yep! It's ok to be addicted to those things that you mentioned, but for heaven's sake, get off the nic! Don't even think about using e-cigs...you might as well keep smoking. gibberish!

I'm hoping that someone can clear something up for me. This statement seems to be the reason for the sentiment about nicotine addiction.

This is something that I just don't understand. I've smoked for 30 years, and I've never been caught up in getting my next fix. If I wanted a cigarette, I smoked a cigarette. It was as simple as that, and I never gave it two thoughts. This idea puts nicotine in the same light as her-o-in and alcohol. I have known an addict in both. My 30 year experience in cigarettes was never like what those other two people go through.

Yeah, they talk about it like it's crack or ....... Seems like kind of a "plea for attention" type of deal... Where people make their problems seem worse than they really are, so they look like they are battling something hardcore and winning. I'm not trying to degrade the severity of a cigarette addiction or say there aren't terrible consequences, but nicotine? Not one of them could ever cite a reference to someone dying from non-tobacco nicotine or the effects of it, unless it was an accidental overdose. We ALL know from getting juice in our mouths what ingesting too much nicotine feels like and that is NO WHERE near a fatal dose. This is truly a case of putting your high horse on stilts if you ask me.

I haven't been approved either. I tried about four or five times. None of my posts were negative or pushing e-cigs, although two of them were in response to some of the nastier posts made by the mob.

Some of mine were responses to negative posts as well, but I also made one in the introduction thread. If any of my posts were construed to be hostile, I could understand them not being approved, but I have received no notification either way.

I actually wouldn't mind them being deleted outright and being given an opportunity to start from scratch in light of the last few days. But, if the board admin won't communicate with me, I have no recourse (it isn't possible to PM even the admin until you're approved).

Hey guys, I'm going to let my pants down around my ankles a bit here, without having read the entire thread. But I have a few comments.
I appreciate all of your comments.

However, you really almost have to read the entire thread to see what is happening here.
And more importantly, to see what is happening there.

And I am pretty sure what is happening, for the most part, is not what you think.

In all fairness I'm willing to bet for some people it IS like crack... you have to step outside your own point of view...

For instance I can go get smashed mouth falling down drunk for the next 5 nights and then not touch alcohol again for 2 years if I want.

You and I both know there are people that one sip is all it takes and it gets out of control.

Granted you don't get drunk or high of cigs really. Myself I've never even gotten a headrush but still they can control some peoples lives to an extent....hmmm food or cigs...cigs all the way!!!

Good morning folks!

Is Evelyn a pirate, by chance?

I don't know if its anything like crack. I do know that when I was trying to quit cigarettes, long before pv's were a dream, I had to stay extremely focused. Those cravings are vicious. It was hard for me to stay focused for months. And again the cravings seemed to get more intense with time, not lessen.

Now if e-cigs had come along I would have jumped on one. But that's ok for me. That's just the way I am. Maybe its not like that for everybody.

Posted By Trbo........Cars kill people too. I am a slave to be able to drive and go places in my vehicle. Damn, guess I'd better start taking the bus. But wait, some evil "car driving person" might cause an accident. Maybe I should walk... Oh but then one of those "evil car people" might run me over. I'll never be safe from those damn cars, even if I stop driving them.

And your crying and whining "cr@ppola" is getting equally as tiresome. If you don't like it, don't do it. Quit trying to control other people.

Oh how looking at the same situation with different factors makes me laugh! Well stated!

According to previous polls, about 50% of us want to continue using nicotine, and 50% either want to or already have eliminated it.

you know what would be great?

You mean like this?

if we could post replies within the origional message.

You can do that on any forum. Just use the [ quote ] feature (no spaces). If you click on the quote button, it already wraps the tags around the post. You can copy the beginning portion and end portions to where you need it. Each quote needs to start with [ quote ] and end with [ /quote ]
