So here comes the most incapable GG vapor *Music*

I am getting dry hits on my Ody. I torched the ceramic and have made a couple of coils and I keep getting the same burnt taste. I am dripping directly onto the wick by taking the mouthpiece off, so I think my wick should be wet enough.

I also tried making a looser coil, and I tried very hard to make sure the wires weren't touching any metal they are not supposed to be touching.

Any ideas what it could be? (Besides the incapable person ... me)

Do you have a multi meter? Shorting can cause burnt taste also over volting (to low ohms for the voltage you are using. Also which wick method are you using? Have you tried any of the methods that use more then one strand at the coils? Finally like many others I find a new coil does taste kinda burnt at first untill it is broken in.

How burnt does it taste until it is broken in? I mean I can't even taste any of my juice... Taste only like burnt wick

The Wick from the newer Vision CE2 Cartos is what I'm using and found it is better then the ceramic and XC-116 for some reason. This silica type wick performs better with this system for me, and anywhere from a 2.6-3.2ohm wrap, anyone else using this Vision silica type wick with these ohms ?

Pretty burnt. It normally goes away after 15 or so hits. When you wrap your wick do you use a pin or something to keep it straight? I use a 18 gauge needle which when I remove it keeps the wire touching the wick but it doesn't choke it either. If you are using it on a gg I would check for shorts with it attached to the connector.

...I got a burnt taste with a 2.1 ohm coil and today with a 1.7 ohm coil. I've been using a slightly drained AW IMR 18650

Yeah, something isn't right. No way should a 1.7 or 2.1 taste burnt at 3.7v. Are you getting that resistance on the final build - from the contacts on the Ody base - or just from the wire itself before you wrap it? Also, does it have the same burned taste if you vape right off of the tank (no mouthpiece attached at all)?
