...and I don't disagree with you at all about that, but I do think that the real antis for antis sake are in the minority and that most people, if they have the opportunity to have all of the information put before them, will not be so against us as they were about smoking. This time (as opposed to with smoking) we just may have the ammunition to 'fight' with.

I don't know.
I'm on another forum right now arguing with someone who is offended by just SEEING someone smoking. Here's what he/she said:

"I find it offensive to even see someone smoking. I grew up in a family of smokers, and was embarrassed on numerous occasions by the smell of cigarette smoke embedded in my clothing. As a result, even the sight of a cigarette creates a negative reaction for me."

So smokers nationwide must walk around on eggshells because of these kinds of people?!

I, for one, refuse to.

I am offended by the sight of HIM. What about my rights? Put him away somewhere where we'll never see one another -- problem solved.

That kinda bolsters my theory that people in general are just jerks who want to ..... about other people while doing whatever they want.

Controlling idiots create a negative reaction in me.

Yup as a 35 year smoker, I can say the feeling of tweaking a controlling anti smoking nazi type like the ones that have been abusing smokers for 10-15 years is pretty darn priceless.

You said it!
They get mad without any justification. Even LOOKING at someone with a cigarette (Lit or not) sends 'em into a fit of rage.

Personally, I think the ecig is a threat to their power and control they have enjoyed all these years persecuting smokers.
I also think ecigs are a threat to the government that has relied on being able to tax a small percentage of the population into bleeding for decades.

I have no sympathy for either entity.

If they go after us, these devices WILL be built at home.

The reason that the landlord has made the policy is because of a jerk a few weeks ago who started vaping without mentioning it to the management and when pulled up about it, he got arsey and said that he was legally allowed to use it. Management did not know anything about the device and, due to this idiot, got arsey back and made the policy on the spot because he didn't want the hassle.
and see thats the kind of idiots that give personal vaporizers(or anything for that matter) a bad name, not people who do vape in public but those that vabe in public and are .......s about it.

I have asked when in public places (ex. restaurants) if it was ok. Well, until yesterday. I was running in to get a pizza I had ordered and I already have "the habit" of vaping when I feel like it. I was in line waiting, and the clerk asked me if that was an e cig. I replied yes it is, and then had to do a demonstration. The non smoker who appeared through the door seconds later said he thought they were great especially since he was allergic to smoke, and remarked that these had no bothersome effects. My reply to him, I'm really glad they do not bother you, so spread the word about them being a GOOD thing to have. If we get the non smokers on board with this, vaping will not be "endangered" in the future. Since I am still new to all this, I also want to take a moment to thank all those who gave reviews and advice here, it has really helped me to get the product I was most comfortable with. This has been the BEST quit smoking experience, and I don't see analogs in my future ever again!

All the best,
Nick

Me too. It's so liberating. Even at my folks' place, where they would smell cigarette smoke from a mile away. I try to keep it to a minimum there, although I really don't know why, since they've never expressed anything but approval for my new habit. They're probably glad that they no longer have to deal with smelly discarded butts, or char-marks on the edge of their patio where I used to stub out my analogs. Not to mention me jumping up in the middle of an intense conversation for a smoke break! I actually sat and talked with them in their home today, comfortably, for a solid hour and a half without needing to step outside even once.

You go girl! :p
Hell yeah! This is exactly how I feel on the subject. Maybe I gots some age on this group but I REMEMBER when it was OK to smoke in public. Usta work out in Cali back when this madness first started and would make the restaurants and bars serve me out on the sidewalk in front of their establishments.
IMHO we should be just as vocal for this as the opposition is against it.
