I've never heard this before, but I wouldn't doubt it for a second.
I guarantee it's true. When I would reach a certain "milestone" in my work task, I took a smoke break (now vape breaks) to clear my head and begin assessing and planning my task going forward. When I worked at places that didn't allow smoking, I noticed the difference in my work production and quality. I didn't have a reward of a smoke break, so I didn't setup milestones for myself and my day was never very well organized. I'm sure some quack of a doctor would say I have ADHD or some crap like that, but it's really all in my own mind. I have worked this way for 20 years, and it has served me well. Even to the point of outproducing non-smokers with better quality in my work.

These days, I slip into a hidden unoccupied area, hit the vape for about 5 minutes, and I'm good to go for an hour or so.

You and me both.

The main reason I smoked was so that I could take breaks from life.
And on those breaks I often solved the problems that have plagued mankind for decades.

Or, well, at least I was able to solve the problems that were in front of me at the time.
Something I never did nearly as well when staring at my computer screen.

On one hand we all know the rules and should not break them if we are not willing to suffer the consequences. But I see from the many posts people are getting tired of the controlling ways of employers and such. IMO it all leads back to our legislators selling us out to Corporations. They took our security now they want to take our dignity and individualism as the force us to fight for the remaining scraps!

Our legislators are selling us out to anything and everything that will get them votes.

Well played, Buzz. I am glad it went as well as it did.

Tapped out

Thanks Eddard. Me to, but honestly its not really that big of a deal. Iron workers get a little leeway most dont get. Not to many people can or even want to do my job. So they kind of look the other way and dont sweat the small stuff.
