I think they are closing out. Will take HR1256 up tomorrow at 10am.
Will vote at 11:30am.

They are done for the day and will start at 9:30am tomorrow.

I was watching too. Did I hear and understand him correctly that he was asking that it be passed without further discussion or amendment hearings?

Morning Business for 1 hour with senator permitted to speak for up to 10 minutes each. The Republicans will control the first 30 minutes and the Majority will control the second 30 minutes.
Following Morning Business, the Senate will resume consideration of HR1256, the Family Smoking Prevention and tobacco Control Act. There will be 1 hour for debate only prior to a cloture vote on the bill, HR1256.

Under an agreement reached on Tuesday, upon disposition of the Lieberman amendment #1256, the Substitute amendment will be a agreed to. If cloture is invoked, the 30 hours of post-cloture debate would begin as if cloture had been invoked at 12:05am Wednesday, June 10.

Hi, WiseGuy!
Did you happen to vote Democratic in the last election? None of my business, but I am not being a poop about this, but DAM_ what were people thinking!! This guy is a piece of work. It's way beyond scary, anymore. It's frightening! Our whole state is wrapped up in this Stupid movement. What are they going to do next for goodness sake. It just makes me sick. Our property taxes doubled two years ago, school referendum (Lafayette County). Madison schools hit too, and every one from Monroe to Madison and beyond. They sort of forget that we're already maxed out, and they go for more when they think we must've forgot! My husband is retired (law enforcement) 9 years ago, had to go back to work. I have no health insurance, good thing I'm healthy. (More now than before I quit analogs!) I work my behind off and we still have no "comfort" zone, always something. What do our elderly people do, try to live in their homes, or just pack it in to nursing homes, what! Yes, I really am scared. For us, and for our kids coming up, buying homes, kids in school...cars, maintainance, insurance..go to College??

I couldnt help myself. I called the American Lung Association D.C. office (212-315-8700) and thanked them for pushing for FDA approval of cigarettes because it's about time somebody stood up and dispelled the lies about smoking causing lung cancer and second hand smoke being dangerous.

You are my hero. The internet is amazing thing, what would happen if we flood the lines thanking them for 'forcing' us back to cigarettes? ^.^
