Could they possibly have based that bill any more around the children who aren't even buying ecigs?!?!

Looks to me like this Colbert already has a bill addressing sale of e-cigs to children. Which is fine.

Now this new out-right ban seems to just add the children argument in for scare tactics. Not to mention this Colbert must be getting money from one of these anti-smoking groups (e.g. she sure is on the war path against e-cigs).

Oh no. The FDA doesn't want that. They want the E-cigs to play by their exact rules, pull every product off the market, and spend 300 million or more on safety studies to prove they are safe, as according to FDA they are a new drug.

Well, they have been around for 3 years and HOW many deaths or serious incidents have been reported?

Oh right, NONE AT ALL!
That's why they are mincing words and trying to use a PR campaign to get rid of them and demonize them. They know if they try to force the issue, things will quicly get out of hand.

Besides, with more and more data coming out of other countries showing their safety and efectiveness, I'd be shocked if the US even banned them at all, and just quietly started imposing taxes instead.

Why doesn't someone start a program to start paying for advertising on TV before it's to late?

We could all donate a little towards it, and then have it air on all sorts of networks.
It's about time someone brought this up! We need TV exposure ASAP!! ECA... spend some of the HIGH dues you are getting from suppliers on TV spots!!

Well, again, I’m not US. But this bill is about crafting a climate. If the bill gets passed it’s not anymore one single senator (Lautenberg), some notorious policy groups (ASH, tobacco-Free Kids), or some county legislator (Suffolk) calling for a ban. It would add a new dimension.
I fully agree with your assessment of effect of this bill in California...

If some or all the different states in the US do the same, it sets the FDA up not to have much choice but to act upon this...more fodder for them to act on banning the e-cigs!
So everyone should write to their state reps etc., especially now people in California and voice your strong disapproval now!

Act now before it is too late

Be sure to tell them how to make up the tax money they are losing with their budget that is already empty.

If Senator Corbett was in San Diego, or Los Angeles, or somewhere reasonably close by to me, I would take a day off work and be waiting in her office until she were able to meet with me. But apparently she is in Sacramento, from what I can tell.

So if you want to say something, you can try this website...
California (CA) State Senator Ellen M. Corbett - FREEDOMSPEAKS.COM

And the following were taken from the above website...

Official website: Senator Ellen Corbett
