Heck, California politicians don't care about what I think, and I'm a resident. They do what they want in the name of "whats good for me". AB1500 is a perfect example of that.

And as a native born-and-raised Californian, I have to say that your post was very well-written and absolutely correct. Regulation has kept our unemployment rate higher than the rest of the nation. Companies are moving out in droves, including the company I work for who is closing down all operations in California. Over 200 people have already lost their jobs at the end of 2013, with hundreds more to come this year, and I must move to the east coast to keep mine.

Problem is, the intelligent, freedom-loving people ARE moving out. What's left are a majority that is either too stupid to understand what is going on, or people who directly benefit from a nanny government. Remember the Romney "47%" comment during the election? This is why these people keep getting re-elected time and time again....nobody wants to lose their food stamps and welfare checks.

It didn't used to be this way. I think that is what's so frustrating about it.

Ok, I'm off my soapbox now... I just couldn't resist.

Bashing the working poor helps with your personal frustration?

Well, I'm a long-time Californian, and one thing I'd like to put an end to is people who move here from wet places throwing burning cigarette butts out the car window and risking fires that could burn down the state. I've seen outdoor trashcan fires caused by the same thing, and we've had grass fires by freeways that spread to some homes before they are put out.

So let's get them all to switch to vaping!

Now, if we all want to cheer up (with intermittent depression when the ANTZ speak) here is the link to a 3-hours and 47 minutes study session in the Oklahoma State Senate. Good guys and bad guys and some in between spoke.

BUT, after the guy from the ACA (American Cancer Society) spoke, he got grilled the way we've always fantasized seeing an ANTZ get grilled, and it's satisfying to watch! (Warning there are quality problems with the feed from the OK legislature to the vape Net guys.)

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...duced-oklahoma-hearing-held.html#post12005545

There might be some good info here to repeat to our California reps.

Please define "wet places". Thanks.

Please define "wet places". Thanks.

Italy is one, I suspect east of the Mississipi is another, though for the last 10 years all bets are off, climactically-speaking. Even the Northwest.

If the humidity is above a certain point and it has rained (not sprinkled) recently, say, within the last month, then cigarette butts are quite likely to go out by themselves, and I've found co-workers and others from such places have developed a reflex to count on that.

Listen, really, the Q&A of the guy from the American Cancer Society is enough fun to make up for a lot of negativity on this thread.

At what point in the 3 hours and 47 minutes does this start?

The whole thing is worth bearing through. Sean the bull rider, Dr. Nitzen r-street, the Senators Q's, even the creep at the end made some valid statements that if clarified would open more eyes. Easily enough to clarify too.

The senators are just like us, & need things spelled out, from the top to the bottom. What is a scientic Trace, what is Threshold, what is the avg exhale traces of the avg non-person, what amount of vapor would be needed in order to reach threshold? (Let's squeeze em all in a vw bug shall we lol). How many years would it take to reach threshold if around the vapor for 10 hour day 5 days a week? (SHS is something like 177,000 years if around it for the typical one hour a day 5 days a week, in a restaurant).
They need real visuals & comparisons, just like we do, as well as all the scientific terms for informed decision making.... the most important reason to listen to that meeting! It will help to restore your faith in our decision makers. :).
I can't help but wonder, though, why the ACA, ALA, blessing is of importance.

Thanks for posting the vid Berylana!

In CA it is not just about tobacco or nicotine, the law mentions e-cig parts too. Need a new tank, sorry, can't but the one form Florida for $6.50, you have to somehow find a store within an hour driving distance, and pay $12 so the B&M guy can pay his rent on top of a heavier profit, and on top of the sales tax. Don't think for a minute that you will eventually only be paying sales tax, it will be just like tobacco products, they will put a "sin tax" on top, so you might be paying 65% in tax, on top of that $12 ticket price. Need a drip tip? Well, that is going to be $37.50 please.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm not sure many of the non-vapers understand the impact that it would have as you described so nicely.

Don't recall what vendor or what state this was in; but recall seeing a video recently...might have even been a link in this thread?. Some vendor paid I think donated 10 cents for each cig .... picked up off of a beach. I think it was a vendor and a local vape club/members. I want to say they had 500 or so show up to help pickup all the cig buts.

If you can get the press to cover these more often and demonstrate the environmental as well as health aspects to vaping that could be a big win for us. You may not be able to get a non smoker to join the ranks of vapors but if you emphasis with their tree-hugger save the world mentality I bet we'd have a lot more on our side ;)

Maybe we could organize something like that and call a major news outlet to come and witness.
Maybe someplace like down Hollywood Blvd.

I live in the midwest so doubt I'd I be going to California event but yeah if you could get something like this organized where people see that it's not only a health benefit to those that switch but also an environmental benefit I see that as a win win for everyone...especially if the press covers it.

Welcome! Now when you get there, go make a pedestrian step back up on the sidewalk while you take the right-of-way, on your way to the gun store. LOL.

Forget the petition, they don't care about petitions. It's time to call the pri*ks and tell them to pull the bill OR ELSE!!!

If they don't pull the bill down or vote it down right away, I am ready to spend money against them and make their lives a living hell.

If anyone has the Time or Inclination to commence a Hard Copy Package with Letter to the Assembly " Persons " I would gladly pitch in for Postage, Supplies, etc...

I do not have the Time to perform this.

They can ignore e-mails but sometimes a Hard Copy Package with Letter could capture some attention.

Heck NO do not tar and feather the committee -- they came out on OUR side last time. (Assembly Governmental Organization Committee, which we think this will go to.) Be nice. Being insulting and angry is NOT the way to reward people who helped us out in the past!!!!!!!!

It is possible to be nice and adamant at the same time.

Dickinson isn't on that committee, I don't think. It's mostly about Indian Reservations, and somehow they also got Tobacco.

It just dawned on me that in our letters to state officials, and whomever we might engage.
The biggest reason for them to support ecigs vaporizers.
How many brush fires have been started as a result of smoking?
That my friends is another weapon in our arsenal of why
ecigs should be supported.
All this legislation in all these other states wow.
Lets start throwing fire safety in the mix.
