Many shops in the city. However, collecting upwards 57k signatures requires a well organized and funded campaign.
Also, as a side note: the vape shops/lounges in Los Angeles are exempt.

The main problem, as I see it, is the precedent imposed in the legislation by now changing the definition of e-cigarettes to "electronic smoking devices".

falsely calling them "electronic smoking devices" is just ridiculous since there is no smoke

Well.. they did..

(c/p) from Los Angeles City Ordinance 182927 [Definitions]
2. "Smoke" shall mean the gases, particles or vapors released into the air as a result of combustion, electrical ignition or vaporization, including from an electronic smoking device, when the purpose of the combustion, electrical ignition or vaporization is human inhalation of the gases, particles or vapors. Smoke does not mean the combustion of material solely for olfactory purposes that does not contain any tobacco or nicotine or the emissions from a product specifically approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for use
in mitigating, treating or preventing disease.
3. "Smoking" shall mean engaging in an act that generates smoke, such as possessing a lighted pipe, a lighted hookah pipe, a lighted cigar, a lighted cigarette, or an operating electronic smoking device.
4. "Electronic Smoking Device" shall mean an electronic or battery operated device that delivers vapors for inhalation. This term shall include every variation and type of such devices whether they are manufactured, distributed, marketed or sold as an electronic cigarette, an electronic cigar, an electronic cigarillo, an electronic pipe, an electronic hookah or any other product name or descriptor.

Gotta be some legal wrangling could be done with that. These government entities (LA isn't the only one) can't just go around changing the definition of words. Smoke is related to fire/combustion, not vapor - no two ways about it.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. They think by declaring they've changed the definition of a word they can away with something like this?!

All I know is none of these so-called bylaws are going to dissuade me from vaping in public places such as parks, beaches, etc. I've never vaped in restaurants (and don't feel people should either), haven't really vaped in bars, so that doesn't bother me that much... but in public places? Outside? In the fresh air? With a radius of 100 feet of empty space around me? Really? Oooooooook......... lol

Right. The imposed lingo is not only wrong, but also in contradiction with some of the existing laws. I don't understand who gave the right to these impostors to change word definitions. I too foresee some form of legal challenge.

So by ordinance, your allowed to vape indoors but not inhale since that changes vaping to smoking. This gets tricky because they need to be careful to avoid making theatrical "smoke" banned.

I don't see how they can get away with this nonsense. Club/concert goers "inhale" VG/PG "fog". Are they gonna ban fog machines and/or close venues that use said equipment? No.
According to this BS you COULD burn incense in public, for olfactory reasons, and despite the fact that it MIGHT trigger an asthma attack to a bystander. Yeah... that's fine, since it doesn't contain any tobacco or nicotine.

Well exactly the target of this is tobacco use not the harm from environmental smoke but the use of tobacco. So things that have carcinogens in them such as incense and bbq smoke are fine unless you attempt to cure your meat with tobacco instead of maple or oak.
This is about removing market potential from tobacco companies which in their eyes is the only way to end the scourge of tobacco related diseases. Lets tell the truth if Philip Morris started selling veggy burgers they would include them in their smoke free legislation.

New York is leading the way right now. A group New York C.L.A.S.H. A grassroots organization established in 2000 dedicated to advancing and protecting the interests of adults who choose to smoke cigarettes or enjoy other forms of tobacco or use electronic cigarettes.

They sued and won against the city for some of their smoking bans, and now are raising money to do the same with their E-Cig Ban. We NEED TO DONATE To them today so we can DO THE SAME TOMORROW.

Read through their web site, they are talking about the same things we are here. DONATE $20 or MORE AND HELP THEM FIGHT then THEY AND OTHERS WILL DO THE SAME FOR US.
