Wow! The prices are completely decent also!!
Thanks for that link mon, it has been saved for the future. I've pondered making something similar several times but I doubt I'd do as well considering their prices!
I have all the tools to make my own and just couldn't justify the cost of the wood and the time required to clean up the shop when Desk Caddy's price was so low.

Looked at several other stands and didn't see anything I liked this well at this kind of price. I'll be buying another one soon.

Wonder if they'd do a custom stand? I'll need to give em' a shout and ask.

in all honesty, to perpetuate a 21 page topic that I barely skimmed,

Analog would, to me, mean its mechanical. Theres little to no circuitry, and the device primarily would rely on a mechanical means to accomplish its objective (IE, an Analog time piece would use a mainspring or weight system to drive a series of gears, pallet fork, balance wheel, etc to keep track of time, whereas a digital watch would, to keep it incredibly simple, be a quartz watch. Some may argue that a analog watch may also be a dial vs a digital watch having a lcd screen.)

To put it bluntly, I'd see a analog vaporizer as being a mechanical mod.

That being said, calling cigs Analogs is a simple effective way of refering to them as the old or inferior product.

Frankly, I dont know the exact definition of Analog, nor do I care. But in the CONTEXT, Analog being refered to as traditional cigarettes, it works.

Is it Pop? Or is it Soda?
Down here it is coke, as in we have tea, coke and coffee. What type of coke do you want? Dr. Pepper, Root Beer, Coke, Sprite, etc!!!
I've two grandsons (7 & 4) and their topics are of far more interest than this thread.

My stand was a bit of a custom stand. I picked the bottom from one and the top from another. They now offer that combo as version 3. They were very friendly when I emailed asking to mix and match.

Good point. Maybe we should start calling them 8-Tracks. Or if that reference is too old cassettes could work....ooh or BetaMax's...Atari's...or...

Back when I played on weekends in one night gigs, I used to carry a roll of solder tape. You could strip a wire and insert it into the hole in phone plug for a microphone or speaker cable, wrap solder tape around it, and hit it with the Bic for a couple of seconds. The tape would melt and make a nice, shiny solder joint. Now, I would have to walk around the venue and beg to borrow a lighter.

I probably need to buy one for my gig bag! These days I just carry an extra cable or two and hardly ever need them because the equipment stays in one place.

Whatever you call them, I no longer smoke. It's a pain sometimes not having a Bic lighter when you need one, though.

I like Cancer Stick for tobacco cigarettes.

Get some swedish fire steel and put it on your keychain, that way if the zombie apocalypse happens you have an edge. :)

Truthfully, I can deal with "analog" far easier than "stinky" or "stinkies". Calling them "stinkies" not only makes us sound as if we are putting on airs, but it also makes us simultaneously seems pedantic. It belongs in the same arsenal of vocabulary as "poop". It's patently absurd to sound pretentious and pedantic simultaneously.

I like poop. In the same line of thinking, poop could also be called stinky.
