I usually call analogs '(regular) cigarettes' and 'vapes' of all kind 'electronic cigarettes'
Granted, 'analog' seems to irk me too, but I'm not going to argue with someone if he calls them that.
Point is, we're arguing fine print here folks. Each to their own. Why should we argue amongst ourselves about such trivial terminology? We all know what we're on about!

This if off topic but since we are talking about how to call things here I go.

I've been watching some french ecigs reviews on youtube and people in france dont call apv's apv's or vv/vw or variable wattage blablabla devices. They call them "electronic mods" or "electro mods" or simply "electro's" as opposed to mechanicals.

I kinda like it.

I like it too. Electro or electro mod! Sounds like something from the Disco!:) Yes, I'm dating myself much here. I did indeed go to the Disco back in the day. Wait - that was Electric Slide.

So, is it electro mods for regulated PVs and electros for mechanicals?

I also think that's a catchy term ...

Ok I quit ANALOGS just over one year ago, and have not had one ANALOG yet that makes me ANALOG free well at least ANALOG free for that time being.

Now when I see some one smoking an ANALOG, I sort of smile as I don't smoke ANALOGS anymore. Also while passing by an ANALOG smoking area man do those ANALOGS stink eh!

Why just the other day this fella asks me if I have an extra ANALOG, I says sorry but I don't smoke ANALOGS anymore, but If I did smoke ANALOGS I'd gladly give u one.

Now my sister she still uses ANALOGS, and she's happy with ANALOGS me I'd rather VAPE and avoid ANALOGS, u know what I mean.

But any ways ummm where was I? Oh yeah getting back on track right on OP, no more using ANALOG to describe ANALOGs anymore from me no sir no way about it ANALOG is now gone from my repertoire of words yep ANALOG free that's me.....

Vape ON!

yeah... meh !
But all your non NERD relatives congratulate you for quitting CIGARETTES !

ps... congrats on quitting cigarettes btw

except this isnt really fine print... if you know anything about electronics, calling a regular cigarette an "analogue" is like all of us calling skyscrapers bananas from now on.

You obviously have not read the whole thread ... this has nothing to do with electronics.

Calling a traditional cigarette an "Analog" makes no sense. It sounds stupid every time I hear it.
Urban Dictionary: Analog Cigarette

Cigarettes are analog as opposed to what? Something digital? Like comparing an analog watch to a digital watch?

Your vape rig is analog. It isn't processing 0s and 1s when you take a drag. It actually fits the definition of analog better than traditional cigarettes do. E-cigs aren't digital; just FYI.

And starting a thread to announce that you think its stupid to refer to a traditional cigarette as an analog is what then?? ... Smart? :?:

In the spirit of nitpicking terminology... it just occured to me that I use something more fitting of the term electric cigar than electronic cigarette. It's not electronic, and it's not deserving of the ette in cigarette; the indicator of it being a smaller cigar-like something.
