Interesting that beer was your magic cure! When everything seems blah to me, I like to vape cinnamon red-hots. That's one you can actually taste on your tongue. Cool mints work for me then, too (not menthol, which I can't stand, but true cool peppermint). I switch flavors all day, and often end up with one of those at the end of the day.

I found this article while struggling with vaper's tongue a couple of weeks ago.

http://www.ecigarettedirect.co.uk/ashtray-blog/2014/03/vapers-tongue.html

I see you are past it, but it can come back in varying degrees. Usually when my juice goes flavorless on me, I switch up juices. A few extra tanks and/or a second device will do wonders. I also hated menthols when I smoked, but I did get some Black Ice menthol and it tastes good and was the only thing I could taste during my extended bout with vaper's tongue aka "53 hours of hell". Since then, I also started making my own coils for all my Protanks and man, the flavor is so much better. So good, as a matter of fact, I am seriously tempted to blow my budget again by going RBA and a mech mod. :)

Now for my sinuses to clear out 100% so I can finally fully realize the power of vaping.

Not likely. Damn allergies. I hate cats more every day.

Thank you, menthol will not work for me, I used to get sick if I smoked menthol, I was non-menthol all the way. But I will keep drinking my water and I've got the drip caps off and have them steeping in the armoire. But will I really taste them eventually? At this point I'm thinking that I'll never REALLY taste them.

vape menthol =/= stinky menthol

I learned this when smoking hookah; not burning it makes all the difference.

I think you should do this ASAP. but you don't need to break the bank. Just pick up a decent dripper and maybe a Russian 91% /Kayfun Lite+, which will be maybe $15-$20 and $20-$30 respectively for clones; then get a decent mod clone, which will be $20-$50, and a couple quiality IMR batteries for $7-$12 a piece, with a charger, $10-$50.

If you already have the wire, even better, but you'll likely want a lower gauge... 100ft of Kanthal goes for maybe $5-$8 from Tempco on amazon or ebay.

If you already know all that and want to get legit hardware just disregard. lol

Just sayin. DOIT you will be happy you did.

One question I'm surprised hasn't been asked yet: How's your sense of taste with food and beverages? In other words, is it ONLY your juices you're not getting flavor from? If it's just the juices, then you've narrowed the problem considerably.

Saw you had some taste come back, that's good to hear. I'd stick with the water and flavor switching, perhaps an equipment upgrade AFTER you've done some home-science and ruled out other factors (dehydration, etc).

Drink lots of water and change up your juices. Suggest getting a Cinnamon of sorts, there's lots of options. Wife and I do a DIY Cinnamon Pear and also really like a Cinn Gummy Bear we found from online vendor. Spicy stuff!! It also could be the juice, so many variations and vendors - - some will work, many will not. Just sayin'.

Not sure this is the best advise for a new vapor, first post stated OP was only 2 weeks into vaping.

I take a gamble and buy smaller bottles to sample from sites online, so I'm never at my local shop anymore (their prices kind of suck and quality not always consistent). If I don't like it I usually pass it along to a friend in exchange for them buying me a beer at the bar or something like that.

Our local shop mixes their own juices and the prices are comparable to Mt. Baker Vapor without the shipping. $4.99 for 15ml on up to 14.99 for 50ml. They are pretty good and I can try as many as I want before buying. I like that.

Don't go crazy on juices for a while yet. Juices are a mixture of flavors and you are tasting each separate flavor to varying degrees. As your taste comes back, your juices will taste dramatically different. At some point you WILL load up on a juice you use to love, take a vape, and make a face like you sniffed a skunk's behind. Get small amounts of different juices instead of large amounts of a few you like.

I have watched a video on how to take the dual coil apart, and yeah two wicks, so removing one will make a difference? Why exactly?

It helps the juice move a little better and in the process increasing flavor. Once I went to 100% VG because of throat problems I found it wouldn't wick correctly even with both flavor wicks removed. And that's how I wound up using cotton which wicks the thick juice easily. I still haven't tried Kanger dual coil setups because I'm already chucking plenty of vapor with an MVP2 so your experience may be wind up being a little different.

We have 14 different flavors loaded up right now in Protank 2 Minis and our 2 Ecoms and I just ordered an Igo-T dripper for further flavor testing. Variety has helped a lot in my experience over the last few weeks. I take one tobacco and two sweet flavors to work with me every day because of this.

This. While I don't have that many queued up, I do have at least 3 tanks on the go at any given time and swap out often during the day.

Wow, small world. Was he born in HdG? I am a HdG native, moved to Hagerstown when I married my first husband. Divorced, then moved to Tucson, AZ and recently moved back to Hdg. I love it here. Hagerstown was nice though, but I missed the susquehana. Nice to meet you!

No, he is from NW Baltimore and I am from Anne Arundel County. We moved out here for his job transfer.

I find when i need to refresh my palette that a good rinse with food grade coconut oil does wonders, it was recommended by a vaping friend and i'll be damned if it didn't do the trick. wierd i know, but after researching what cocnut oil does in the mouth it makes perfect sense.

Think I'm tasting food just fine, I'm sticking to the water and am switching flavors, and there is always an ice cold beer if that doesn't work :)

Just got my shipment today from MBV, 3 new flavors I picked and they sent me free wintergreen? I asked for Berry Creamy, ugh. And I purchased 3 more from my local vape shop, all are in 15ml. I have a total now of 12 flavors to choose from all in small amounts until I decide what I like best. Loving on my vanilla gelato right now. At least until it the flavor wanes on me.

Ok, here is my new line-up. I realize the evod 2 isn't the cadillac of vaping, but it was a cheap answer to my rotation needs. Working well for me. Rotating vanilla gelato, sticky buns and lemon merengue pie. :)
