I went to get my package from my local postal outlet. I had missed it at home. They apparently gave it to some one else. The district manager is trying to figure out how it happened. My problem is its about 80mL of juice($20 with shipping). I have only said it was parcel from a Chinese company. I am not too worried about losing it. I am being nice and respectful dealing with Canada Post. I am just wondering if this is my responsibility or the company I bought the juice from? I have not signed or taken possession of the parcel.

So the post office can hand out mail to the wrong people willy-nilly and are absolved from any liability so long as there’s no insurance? That doesn’t seem right.
The person picking it up should either have to sign for it, and show ID, or present the card thingy that comes in the mail box. At least that is what I have to do here. OR did they just give the wrong package to the wrong person?
I would imagine that the person who picked it up had come to pick up their own parcel and they must have mistakenly gave him/her the wrong parcel. Maybe you should just take accept the other person's parcel and call it even....depending upon what it is, you might be the winner here! lol
Some guy named Mike signed for it. I'm thinking it just got mixed into his parcels some how. Not pushing the matter to hard with Canada Post, giving them some time to locate it. It shouldn't be too hard for them to track down if it was an honest mistake.
Push Marty - Push. The more you push - the better chance you have of getting your parcel. Call them every day. Go there. Ask them if they found anything. Ask them if they can try and trace "Mike" - if ID was shown - who gave the package - does the employee remember the guy - does he have a mailbox there....
Great that you're being polite (always gets a better response) but it is possible to push politely. Hopefully Mike will just return the package on his own when he realizes it's not his.
If it was insured - the sender in china has to make the claim to Hong Kong Post - and getting them to take responsibility for a misdelivered item in Canada is not likely to happen (much less getting the sender to go through the process).
The only other road open to you is to submit a complaint to Canada Post for misdelivered mail.
Give them a bit of time to "investigate" and see if it can be sorted out. Following that, they've already admitted they made a mistake so you should be able to submit a claim for the the contents based on THEIR error.

Claiming the content is what I am worried about ( nic ). I am not to concerned about losing $20. I keep my orders from outside the country small for this reason. I make lots of slow ship orders. I have not had a problem till now. I think I will be patient and courteous, no reason to get my knickers in a twist.
Same thing happened to me but it was a $200 juice order, I did get it back. be patient, the twisted knickers look is sooo 1994 anyway.

hope you can get it sorted out before Thursdays strike. If it happens. I have a 100ml of 36mg which should reach Vancouver customs any day now. Good luck to you. I will probably have to wait for mine. We have enough supplies for 6 months so we should be OK.
or tries mixing juice to drink, and wonders how people can handle the taste LOL
