This is the one thing that bothers me about vapors ... now that they don't smoke anymore they slam the physical signs of smokers. For years they didn't worry about smoking, but now that they've quite they start yapping about second hand smoke, an ashtray mouth and blah blah blah...

I've owned an e-cig for all of 48 hours. I am one of those folks who are super sensitive to smell and quite frankly, I have no idea how I got past it to even start smoking in the first place. I'm not an ex-smoker (yet) but hope I will be soon. I know there are smokers who love the smell and it will make them crave a smoke. I chew gum or mints constantly because of my own "ashtray" mouth. I hate having stained teeth (but what's the point in whitening treatments when I can't quit smoking?). I hate the yellow film that gets all over my belongings. I use oil burners, air fresheners and the carpet powders to cover up the smoke smell in the house. I have always tried to respect others and ask permission to light up- even before smoking bans.

I am so excited about the e-cig because of the health benefits and not having to smell like smoke anymore. I lit an analog this morning and took a puff before putting it out. It tasted pretty nasty compared to the cartridges I'm using (an almost pipe tobacco like taste with a faintly sweet aroma to the vapor).

I've read so much about the bad taste of analogs and getting sick of them that I had to try it for myself.
I lit one up today and it smelled and tasted pretty darn good.
As for stained teeth ... no problem for me, my teeth are pearly white.
I think for me it's goodbye to this forum. I can't be around ex smokers who now suddenly hate smokers.
I never want to become so hypocritical.

I have been vapeing for about a month, I was using up all the stock carts that came with my Ecigs 16mg to 18mg, and still smoked analogs but I went from two packs a day to about 10 analogs a day. Then I got some e liquid in 24mg and now I smoke less than 5 a day, Next eliquid order is going to be higher Mg. And I think I will have kicked the analogs all together! stay with it IT WORKS!

We ARE smokers - we just don't smoke analogs now - or some of us don't - heck I didnt give up right away myself - I didnt even WANT to give up - what I wanted was to get rid of the cough I developed. There were about 5 cigs per day I really enjoyed - I like smoking - I like cigarettes - well ok I liked 5 of them - the rest I hated, and I hated the fact i smoked them like a slave. tehre was no reason I smoked the other 15 a day other than habit.
Do I hate people that smoke cigs now? god NO! That was ME - that would be like hating myself - something I dont do :D
Some people DO get stained teeth btw - does that mean all smokers have stained teeth? No.
Some people DO get cancer from smoking. Does this mean ALL smokers get cancer from smoking? No.
You cannot and should not generalise - some people get cancer from life, their genes, food, the air, cars, no reason at all. Does that mean if I get cancer I should stop doing everything or blame everyone? No.
Are all the members here anti-smoking or anti-smokers?
I think the answer to that is clear..

I normally keep 2 carts on me. One is cut down to 8-9 mg by adding vg to the liquid. I use it just to puff on mindlessly. The other is an 18 mg mix with a heavy throat hit for when I actually feel like a smoke break.

One thing I found worked for me was to maintain your routine. For instance I normally would get out of a meeting and then go out to smoke. I still do that and it seems normal. I even still go to smoking areas when out in public to vape. The trick I think is to not upset your whole world at once. I never really noticed the change to vaping that much. It was more like changing brands. That says a lot since I smoked for 35 years.

Chanel,

That's definitely part of the problem for me too. I have been told by several people here that I'm not going to find a true tobacco tasting vape. So far, after trying lots of different stuff, I have not. I still hope to. My alternative has become coffee flavors. It's not quite what a want, but I do like the taste. Maybe, I just need to forget about TOBACCO!!!! Hard for transition for me though. :)

I heard that same BS from so called "experts" that "people who want tobacco are likely gonna go back to analogs...." blah, blah, blah!!!. That ...... me at the time and still does.... except now I am laughing to myself!:p:p:p I say BS !
These same people can subscribe to the thought of how "subjective" juice taste is, but be so difinitive re users wanting a tobacco taste:rolleyes:,crazy.:grr:

I didnt listen to thier BS then and didnt let it detour me one bit. It just meant I had to do it myself.;) I knew what I wanted, they just didnt offer it. Maybe thier "approach to solving it" is flawed.:D

Hi All,
I'm brand new to vaping and I've been a 30 year heavy smoker. I love smoking cigarettes but I just knew it was time to make a change. Vaping, so far has been a completely smooth transition for me. It's only been 12 days and I'm still smoking a few analogs a day and I still enjoy those few analogs a day. It's a helluva lot better than the 3-4 packs a day I used to smoke! But I can just tell that vaping is gonna do it for me. I'm using 18-24mg juice and eventually I'll quit analogs all together! BTW, this forum is just awesome and everyone here has been so helpful in helping me to gain knowledge and to stay on track with my mission to finally quit cigs for good! So, Thanks!

Thoughtfull1 I worked for the cancer society and the center of addiction.
All I can say is, it was an eye opener.
The lies and deceit they feed the public are unbelievable.
I quit that job at the cancer society because I couldn't take it anymore.
The day I left I was threatened by management that if I ever said a word to anyone about what I had seen, heard or read they would come after me.
All I can say is, they are a BILLION dollar industry of which VERY little money goes to research.

Think about this though ... if smoking causes lung cancer, than what causes a variety of other cancers, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer and testicular cancer?
Once you've figured that out, you're halfway to the truth.

Sounds like you have a lot to contribute to this forum.
More on this would be interesting.
