When I go into a restaurant, I sit down and pull out my PV. Then I grab a napkin, take it apart and clean it while the waitress is taking the order. I'm blatant about it. If you act like you are hiding something, they will assume that you are doing something wrong. I get the usual "what's that?" questions, but not the "you can't do that here".

If they ask me to not use it, I won't. I won't go back either, but that's their decision. It helps that I'm a good tipper. I don't blow huge plumes around the room either.

Has anyone else had the Random hippie walk up to them when they see you public vapeing and ask "heeeeyyy whats in that?"

No, but some of my less reputable co-workers have asked if it comes in a certain floral flavor. I have to explain that it's the wrong kind of hardware.

Iv been vaping for 3 months now and do it practically everywhere. I love vaping in work, Im in my own office so not hard and gets me through the day where as I used to stress about needing a smoke and couldnt get out. Best one yet though was last week having a sleath on the plane, it was just an interstate flight but its made me realise how I can do an international flight now stess free, just better not get too smart on it though :)

I love that I can vape at my desk! I love vaping in my car with the windows up and air con on. I love vaping in my house while watching TV. I don't vape in public buildings, i dont vape on public transport either. Even though I know I'm not harming anyone I don't want us vapors to look rude or ignorant towards other people who don't understand what we are doing. What's the point in getting the general public offside we may need their vote one day to stop bans. If they remember seeing us vape rudely in front of their kids on a bus/train/plane or in the supermarket they may be less than sympathetic to our plight

Last cigarette 16th October, 2011. Forever grateful for the support and advice from ECF.

Pretty much impossible to stealth vape with my rig. Good thing I'm old enough not to give a damn what others think.

By now, many have seen e-cigs in one form or another, so you don't get as many looks as a few years ago. I remember when I started in 2008, and vaped at an NFL football game, got very strange looks. At concerts (Once had security come try and hassle me, until I told them it was simply a nicotine inhaler). non smoking bars were great for vaping. Once had a smoker watch me vape for a couple of hours, I guess he was really lit, because the guy lit up an analog right in the bar! Bouncer of course promptly escorted him out, as he was pointing at me the entire "Walk of Shame".. The bouncer came up to me, and said "What's that thingy you got there with the blue light on the end of it?".... lol

Happy my Ego doesn't have an LED. I don't need/want my PV to mirror a cigarette.

I've vaped in the grocery store and restaurants so far nobody has bothered to ask about it but I don't really try hide or show it off either way. I just do my thing and other Aussies tend to live and let live. No one's complained yet either but while at dinner I don't blow big clouds up for all to see, I blow it under the table. No lingering smoke, no smell, no worries!

I vape in both my doctor's and dentist office and they are both big fans and now recommend them to their patients who smoke. I also provided them with good information from CASAA on the specifics of vaping safety.

I've also vaped in resturants after explaining it to the waiter or manager and only had an issue once and that was two years ago. I vape in court houses and have helped quite a few sheriff's deputies on which ones to buy and where. The more we vape openly but respectfully, the more acceptance we will garner for vaping.

Note: I carry several business size cards I made up with model recommendations, several good sites to order from and the ECF address that I hand out because I get so many requests for this information.

I vape here and there in a store and usually do it discreetly. A store with tall aisles is a good place to vape. I exhale downward across my chest and it disappears in a second or two. 100% PG is a good choice for taste and lower vapor amounts. VG is a little hard to hide and clogs cartos. 100% PG in a Boge carto is my vape most days. In restaurants, I get away with blowing it down under the table.

I got caught once in a Huddle House. The waitress called over all the employees to see my ecig and made me write down some links where they could find out about ecigs. Win!

Good point about doing things respectfully :) I find for the most part people tend to have more questions than dirty looks.

lol...I can too...but sometimes I have my PV on me and feel it in my hands and insta thought is "Take a toot." So I do. It's not like I do it because "I....must....have....a....vape....."
Wow.

I guess I’m the only one who can walk thru a store Without having to take a hit.

I love vaping indoors and in the car with the windows up. It feels great to be able to retain the ac/heat depending on the season.
My co-workers are mostly .... about it though, (un)fortunately. They'll chew me out if they smell any residual in the air. Luckily that means that i still get to go out and take "smoke" breaks, with clean air now

Not randomly, but most of my co-workers are... um... "ex-hippies," to put it nicely... and often give me a hard time with things like "I bet you could put better stuff in that, heh heh..."

Nope, you're not the only one. I've yet to openly vape in a store, bar or restaurant. I've only "stealthed" once and that was in a movie theater. I don't specifically hide my vaping, but I don't flaunt it either. I just don't have the patience to explain the ins and outs of vaping to random strangers. Those that do, rock on! I wish I could be more outgoing in that regard, but I'm not. I do however have patience to explain them to people I know who show genuine interest.
