Makes me wonder if my Panasonic Protected NCR18650A will fit? I have cgr18560ch's also but try to use the protected with mechs. I do have a Short Stop regardless. JC are your B's protected? I know that version comes both way. I think the protected A's I have are maybe .3mm longer than the protected B's.

I don't have any protected batteries. I tried screwing the post on the top cap to make it go higher, but to no avail. still hits when the switch is locked in place. guess you get what you paid for. it will work with my panasonic batteries though. that said, I think batteries with no top button will work fine with this mod (no. 20)

oh i see they have a 18650 option? guess so.... well its about time china did a simple tube with bottom button and flat top... stylish too.

yup thats the 18650 tube. thats the only one it came with (from vaportek). and im grateful because the other tube is the 18350 one. would be nice for a smaller mod but i prefer to kick it so that would do me little good.
s'all good tho ive got stealthy mods when the need arises.

Yep, was just coming here to follow up. I got mine ordered and decided to go ahead and order the i atty that goes with it. I think its actually a clone of the z atty but the price seemed good on it so why not. Btw, those are listed as preorder on the site but they do have them in stock. I confirmed with John the owner before I ordered.

the atty i got with the v1 kit is a zen clone; it even says zen on it. lol. its a geni not a silica wick tank atty. thats for sure; I got no idea which one you are talking about... i'll have to look up the site.
I have 2 of these attys if anyones interested... i have too many geni's.

yeah, thats the one... it all goes to show the craziness of this industry.
China is suffering such a communication gap... i don't get it; unless its just a lowest common denominator issue; "i got this" in mass quantities, and it cost this much... done.
The vaping industry is booming and vapers are buying it up because 1. it looks good 2. its inexpensive.

the problem we have is that serious vapers aren't getting decent gear from China yet... there's only a few that are coming out now with proper materials and half decent QC.... if you aren't a good modder you end up with crap at least half the time.

It still befuddles me why China is copying successful mods but not researching it enough to look beyond the surface.
I guess the money is good enough.

It won't be long now before they make a few minor adjustments and get it right... but you know when they are mis-using the terminology, they've still got a ways to go.

I ordered from vaportekusa. Anyways, I thought it odd that vaportek called it an I Atty. It clearly looks like a Zatty clone to me also from the few pics of Zen attys Ive ever seen. Not sure why at all anyone would call it a hybrid.

Its here: I Atty for Caravella Clone

I think alot of it has to do with a culture gap honestly. The chinese friends I have will level with you and tell you they see Americans as lazy and gullible. So they produce goods for us off that impression. Why coat brass with chrome? Cause americans will be too lazy to clean it properly and itll cost us less than copper. or silver... So more profit. If it breaks they will not bother to fix it... they will just buy another. They see us as a disposable society with no respect for quality or longevity in our goods. In a big sense, they kinda have us pegged. That is what we have become. However I think they are slowly realizing there is a large segment that expect more, and does want quality. That is the crossroads we are at now. The question will be... do they see enough profit in the middleground between disposable and non disposable

Follow up review of the Caravel Clone V2:

After a few days of use, unit seems to hold up well. I'm a heavy vapor so it's in my hands most of the day, other than being a fingerprint magnet, the finish looks like it will hold up for quite some time. I've also tested it against my "modded sigelei" #19 and KTS. Vape production is decent, but could be better. I've figured that the bottom firing button isn't getting the contact that is needed because of the design and will figure some way to mod it. Other than that it is a decent device if you get one with decent threads. My unit's bottom cap won't survive too long if I keep using it due to the crappy threading, so from now on I'm going to have to load batteries from the top cap which is silky smooth. I also put teflon tape/plumbers tape on the firing button screw to get rid of the rattle.

Vape production out of the box: 5/10
Firing button cylinder(not the contact that touches the battery) that sits inside the bottom cap needs modding, though I haven't figured out how yet.

Fit and Finish/looks: 8/10 if it was perfect. 5/10 because of the slight bulges
I love how this looks, but there are flaws. You can see a slight bulge on the battery tubes near the top and bottom due to the method they used to tap in the threads.

Quality and Price: 3/10
Happened to be unlucky enough to catch one with bad threads on the bottom cap, though I've read others have gotten better luck than I have. Had to put teflon tape on firing button thread(not bottom cap) to get rid of rattle(play from the threads). Also can't get over the fact that it's rolled sheet metal at this price, I can literally see the weld marks on the inside of the tube, which really does annoy me.

Would I recommend it?
Not this version at this price.

I know others have had better luck, but I just can't get over some of the flaws of the unit I received. I know some of the things I went over, other people can accept, but I get really annoyed and it sits in the back of my mind. Other than that, here was my honest review and I hope it helps you out!

Just recieved mine today. Have to respectfully disagree with most of the post above. Other than battery sizing issues mentioned before the fit and finish on mine is flawless. It feels solid in the hand. The throw is rather tight but not bad at all. Protected batteries will not fit the 18650. Nor will it fit the panny 18560ch with a short stop attached. So Im just running the 18650 CH's alone for not with coils I know are in good shape.

Anyone have a line on protected 18650's that may fit??

No bulge on top cap of mine. Bottom one does but looks more like a design aspect, poor machining or not. No issues with the firing button. Mine has perfect contact, no misfires thus far that werent my fault cause this is my first bottom firing mod... im a bit clumsy with it yet.

Top threads butter smooth. Bottom cap a little rough but I cleaned em up and they are fine now.

I do have concern that the 510 threading itself is a little thin but it should hold up with care. All the contacts and spring is brass. Running my .8 ohm coil in my ChDID... vapes like a freight train.

The 18350 tube and zatty clone Ill have maybe monday. Fingers crossed for tomorrow tho.

Happy with the purchase for now, out of the box. Is it worth $55? No, maybe $40 is a fair price. It really should sell for no more than other china mods out at the moment. The tubes themselves are barely thicker than the KTS tubes.

i greased up my top and bottom cap threads with noalox- makes a notable difference. this stuff is great. im greasing up all my mods' threads now :)

also, i was having issues using an AW 18490 button top with evolv kick. the unit was just too big and if i screwed the top and bottom cap on alll the way, the unit would self-fire. luckily, my kick clone was just around the corner and it happens to be 1mm shorter. perfect fit!

the perfect fit combined with my now smooth theads has made this into a really enjoyable device. buffalo guy- i like your teflon tape addition to the switch threads. i might do that too as the constant spinning of the switch is a tiny bit annoying.

I like mine! Only thing I did was sand the contacts. Vapor production is legit! Got the Dream BT801 up top.

looks nice.
ive never worried about connectivity because i use kicks, but i figure sanding the contact points cant hurt. possibly even increase batt life. so....what do you use to sand?

To be honest I just used a scrap of sandpaper I found laying around in the garage, wasn't even sure what grit.

I dunno of its just me but Im just not getting used to the bottom firing button yet. Tried different hand configs with the 650 and 350 sizes and it just feels awkward. I guess maybe the kts I got first with the pinky switch in the side has me spoiled.

The 18350 size it alot more comfortable with this mod tho it seems.

Vince, I havent sanded my contacts. Didnt see the need as it was brass contacts. I figured just an alcohol cleaning would suffice. Are you really seeing that much difference with sanding them? Or did you just sand em right away when you got yours?

I just sanded them right away when I got it, per TroyDestroy's advice. I to am still getting the hang of the bottom button, I got used to my drawtube pinky button. I use inner side of my pinky to hit the button or sometimes even my palm. For the palm press, the addy I have on it leaves a little "lip" of space around it so I actually hold it there with my fingers and pull it down into my palm witch depresses the button. It sounds super awkward but its actually comfortable.

i like the bottom switch. at first it was weird and hard to push, but now the spring has loosened up just enough to make it just fine. i do take a wide grip however. i find that you get more leverage and it makes it easier if you grip the mod with your thumb and index up near the top cap rather than holding your fingers together like a fist toward the bottom of the device. similar to Vince's palm press in that your fingers grip at the top rather than the body of the device fist-style. fyi ive got the 18650 tube on mine.

plus the bottom switch is perfect for gennys. i used to hate trying to line up the wick hole with the firing button.
