The Fix®

  • At Midnight (CST) all votes will be reset to zero.
  • Votes made in the previous six hours will not be counted.
  • A formal request for a Top Level Sticky will be sent to SmokeyJoe to announce the voting has been reset. Users will see it at login and hopefully anyone who voted previously will take the time to recast their vote.
  • Voting will be made by registering on the CASAA.ORG site (link TBA tonight) and replying to an email confirmation.
  • IP addresses will be captured, but not considered a defacto reason to restrict logging in. These IPs will be used to acertain any potential issues of voter fraud coming from multiple votes from the same IP.
  • Proxy votes (those who can not access the site for whatever reason) can be made by emailing boardvote@casaa.org
  • Voting will end at Midnight, October 25th as originally posted.

But wouldn't the election appear MORE slated if some candidates were missing from the beginning? The people who care most will certainly return to vote. Candidates that earned their votes first time around aren't likely to loose those votes unless the added candidates that should have been on the ballot the first time ARE better choices.

Edit: Thanks for the clarification Webby.

What I did was to copy a list of nominees, and then went through at least all of the bios I could find, and came up with more than 12 I would love to see on the first board.
These are people who definitely have substance, training, and experience. But I do think a re-start would not hurt the CASAA image as much as a after-the-fact adjustment. Re-votes are not easy, but I too would appreciate actually being registered with CASAA first, then having the right to vote for the nominees. One could understand the need to be registered with a consumer agency before given a voice in its governance.

this is what should happen.
RIMP should reconsider...
SJ should do the alert notice...please.
something with the centering of ideas/implementation CASSA should be able to do is important to all of users a PV.
its just my thoughts on this.

sorry if this crosses the grain, but its again 'my thoughts":)

Thanks but it does not. I am ...... that all the people that took time to vote will have their voices lost.

That's more like age talking then anything else, IMO.

Webby is right in starting over. Those that are passionate about the cause will take the time and vote again. If they are not, so be it but at least this way is fair in that every person's name is on the ballot that should be.

Relax man. The only difference will be that only people who care enough to bother to register at CASAA and then vote will be counted.

My voice will not be lost.

Let's just make SURE that everyone knows what the process is. We do have a week.

Since the ballot is linked to your profile page, it might be beneficial for all candidates to copy/paste their "campaign speeches/qualifications" for lack of a better definition, to their profiles as it would be SO much easier than scrolling through a thread to read it all in between other comments and conversations.
Just a thought.;)

Or perhaps, as the voting is to be restarted, a kind moderator might be persuaded to extract the bios from this thread, and create a new separate thread just containing them in this area?

I understand your point, but I would be more ...... if my voice was not heard to vote for a late addition. The election was going my way, but I'd rather not be elected if I don't really even know who was electing me. If you don't have to register before voting, IMO it is not a vote it is a poll.

Thanks Webby. I really think you're going the right way with this.
