Hey Magaro
Where'd you get those snazzy stands?

Thanks man!
A pleasant way to spend part of an unscheduled day off - rebuild your favorite BF attys

Only one atty per squonker?? I've kinda liked having the convenience of having two for each ;) keeping the spare fresh wicked and ready.
That's just Manta's. :) The current mod:atty ratio is 1:1.5. At the rate Tom's introducing new attys, it'll surely be 1:2 in a blink of an eye! Ruh roh! I can just see how this plays out: new mod, new attys, lonely atty, 'nother new mod ... Really, Ruh Roh!

The only downside I have for the Manta is those %$&@#*& ID o rings on the top cap. The top cap fit with both of the o rings in place was a little tight so when someone mentioned removing one of them I thought I would give it a try. The fit was great with one but I found that I sometimes moved the airslot off of alignment during use so I decided to put the second o ring back in.

At first i swore I had the wrong o ring. It seemed 7 sizes too big to go back in there. After spending a long time and a few choice words I did manage to get the thing back in place but there has got to be a trick that makes it easier.....unless that's the reason that no more will be made. Who can tolerate the labor cost to assemble that thing? :)

If you want to replace one of those o rings don't give up. It will go but plan to spend some major time doing the job.

Why did they choose ID rather than OD o rings? Sheeeesh.

Duane

I agree, the internal o rings are a pain. Not a deal breaker, for me; but I don't understand the rationale behind manufacturing the Manta this way. The only other atty I've owned with this set up was the Quasar, which was also a good atty, otherwise. If JD decides to make more Mantas, conventional external o rings on the base would be an improvement.

Tom, are you referring to the first 20-25?

Or are they all ready?....haven't paid for mine yet....number 30.
Actually both. The first 22 are shipping from me their new owners and 23+ are shipping to me. They should be getting on a plane any hour now. Should be here by Friday or Saturday.

Thats why I think it'll do very nicely on a dual 18650 mod with a a 10ml bottle. Seems like a match made in cloudy heaven.
True story... The Prototype is rocking a Velocity and has been for some time now. Depending on when the second round of Nectars arrives I hope to be working on them Thursday.

As for JDTech, I don't understand why mod and atty makers, just stop making what is generally regarded as a very good product, which the Manta is, for a bottom feeder. Although I have no idea how it has been reviewed by the conventional dripping crowd.

The problem is we caught them late, by the time we discovered the manta JDTech was already headed another direction. I'm sure they are about to release some cloud chasing leak master any minute. The sad truth is cloud chaser attys are more profitable and sell much faster than taste attys. sucks for us.... I found a new one that I'm working on though: Le Magister by Vaponite. Expensive as all hell but beyond sexy and taste guaranteed... Going to be a mother... To bottom feed. Think sat22 crossed with manta with a touch of Marquis thrown in for good measure.
