I have had similar problems with some FD classic 510's as used on the Pekos. Some are too large. Luckily, I had multiple attys and found one that fit (magma, love that extra long 510). There is lots of variability in the threading on those 510s. Some are just right and all atty's thread right in. I have an A7 that has very small threads and only fits into one of my FD 510s. I have some copper conductive tape that I plan to use next time I decide to change attys. I am hoping a little tiny piece will tighten things up. That looseness is very annoying. They are easy to use but so inconsistent.

The magma... That atty has destroyed more brass Reos 510s than all of the other attys combined. If you run a Magma all the way down on a brass 510'ed reo the bushing is done. I'm sure Rob still has nightmares.....

That's an offer very few would make Tom. I appreciate it bro. I guess I'm gonna have to tough it out until mine gets here though, and hope that the Manta screws onto it. I'm beginning to wonder if it's not that atty itself, but I don't see how it could be.. Hell its an authentic, there shouldn't be an issue at all. Who knows.

C'mon man... I'm curious now. My opinion of FDV wasn't the best before although I have done quite a few send ins that were the result of using their BF kit. Every atty is different, that a part of why I don't sell pins. There is just no one size fits all pin not even a 1 size fits most. Every pin is made by me to spec. Most of my hardware comes from England because when they say 304ss they mean 304ss not 18-2. They are both similar but the 304 drills much better. Sorry rambling......

What kind of filter do you use for that? I've got a couple NETs soaking right now (my first attempt), coming up on the month mark in about a week. I haven't yet bought anything to filter with.

Replied via PM instead instead of cluttering the CAM thread.

Had the same problem with my authentic Manta threading into the Sunbox. It fit just fine on my ohm reader as well. As it turned out, ( through no fault of Tom's) the threads on the 510 were flattened out. Good thing I happen to also enjoy all things tool, as a simple chasing of the threads with a 7mm .50 pitch die straightened things right out.

I recently got a bad batch of FDV classic 510 inserts. I was having the same problem joecarroll is describing, with a couple different atty's. (not CAM atty's, by the way...) I spoke to Dennis at FDV about it. He told me he had received some that were out of spec from his supplier. They have since sorted through all the 510's, and culled the bad ones. He sent me replacements, FOC and they are all good and tight.
Long story short,.... I think it's the 510, not the atty...

This may be the case.. I have no idea. I've used probably 10 different attys on it up until now and haven't had an issue one though. I dunno, I'm tryin not to stress it. I'm the dumb azz who sold my back up stuff before testing it out. I'll figure something out.

The Punching Clown Inflatable is ready for action. You can punch either his happy side or his sad side and he pops right back up. Keep this fun clown around the office so employees take out their frustrations on him instead of co-workers and customers

I know it well. I work in Roanoke... not sure what your schedule looks like but I'll echo Tom's offer. If you need a loaner atty or mod and can make it to Roanoke tomorrow or Monday, you can borrow some of my kit.

edit: heck, for that matter, if you can make it to the Rocky Mount area on Saturday you can *have* the Geyscano and atty I received for review. I just need to finish the review on it which should be in the books Friday night.

Man I appreciate the offer, very generous of you. As of right now, I'm pretty busy all weekend. Graduations and little league baseball and what not. If I can break away for a couple hours I may take you up on that. But free time is very scarce for me.

Just let me know, brother. Weather permitting, I'll be mowing most of the day Saturday.
