What symptoms were you getting?

Resistance less than infinite straight out of box. It went from 5.7 ish ohms to 1.5 ohms if I played with the posts. I never coiled it, just contacted Tom immediately. While that is certainly a negligible current path (compared to a .4 ohm coil), I didn't want to try arc heated vg. I say arc because I couldn't see actual pos-neg contact, but there were some clearances of ten thousandths or so.

OK...cool I've never checked resistance without a coil installed before. Thanks for pointing out the possibility that there could be problems with any atty. It's easy enough to check and why not do it?

If you ever owned an A-7 you would have learned real quick to check it with no coil, they were susceptible to the center pin shorting.

Well so far I am liking the Vector with 27 gauge 8 wraps each. It seems like it could hit a little harder though. Well what's everyone's opinion on Monta vs. Vector?

Totally different animals... If you are all about the flavor chase the manta is your pony... If you like clouds but want to dial back for 7/10 taste the Vector is your pony. Personally I'm all over the Vector. The manta is nice but if I'm going that far down the flavor rabbit hole I go all in with the Nectar Micro.

That is a stunning rda CH. Hope you get a single monster coil. Like a Clapton. Or some triple twisted single coil set right in between the posts for squonkalicous hits.
It has the one trick pony build on it now. I'm going to need some Ti wire for dual coil temp control.

. Well I only vape unflavored so I just want monster throat hit lol. Btw Tom one of my vectors center post holes is a little to the right and not centered, I mean in all honesty it probably makes no difference lol but I thought I would mention it in case there is an easy fix.

I'm not a huge fan of the drip tip on the Vector myself but it's growing on me. With the "birds nest" coils I put in it, It's a flavor monster for sure. It was hitting a wee bit hot at first after a couple of good pulls but a few coil adjustments and removing the screen took care of that. Thinking of going with dual one strand Clapton's for the build on the second.

As with a lot of atty's, sometimes you must be willing to toss a few builds at it in order to bring out their full potential.

Huh? So it's twisted a hair? Loosen the 510 screw 2 turns and wiggle the top post until it seats into the bushing and tighten the 510 screw back down. The post actuall recesses into the bushing to keep it from spinning.

Think smaller diameter coils for throat hit. Big fat boom batty coils are great for cold clouds the corollary is hot with gobs of throat hit.

I wasn't at first either but it grew on me... I still can't handle it on the remm though.

Distort....do you have a picture of your "Birds Nest" coil?

First I've heard of it...perhaps I'm missing something here.....:thumb:

Bird's Nest coil is what I tagged it. A bit of work but the juice is worth the squeeze...
