Why? Aluminum would be great if it weren't for the high zinc content of the hard stuff and the whole Alzheimer's issue. But then again I haven't heard of anyone having chromium poisoning due to kanthan; kind of the same concept. Studies would have to be done to determine the rate of aluminum outgassing due to electrolysis. While silver would reduce the outgassing due to its purity and stability.
Just for people that want a higher price atty for their high end mod.

I don't see where Tom called you out as an idiot. Had you not posted this, no one would have known this was your atty. /shrug
Actually I recognized the countertops, lol I have an eye and memory for stupid stuff like that. Not that it matters, but this also isn't the first time I've seen him complain about something in the forums. Some people make themselves easy to remember, just not always for the right reasons. I know none of this has nothing to do with me, but I had a Manta at one time that was doing the same thing the one in the pictures did. Truthfully, it's a design flaw, and has nothing to do with Tom. People seem to forget that Tom doesn't manufacture the RDAs he modifies. He is a genius when it comes to fixing a lot of issues most RDAs have, but he's not a miracle worker. The base of the positive post on the Manta being round is the huge issue with it, yes it will come loose because of the screw, but when it becomes loose the entire post spins and touches the deck. Had it been designed similar to the Stumpys positive post, and insulated like the Stumpy, it would've been a lot better. Both great attys, but both have their pros and cons. Honestly and this is my opinion, if you struggle with mechanical ability and the understanding of how these things work, you should probably stick to non rebuildable devices. Ok, I'm going back into hiding now.. Lol hope everyone had a great Christmas, and enjoy your New Year!

Camera skill suck hope this helps

It looks to me like this may be made of cast aluminum. If that's indeed the case, it will be almost impossible to polish it out to a "chrome like" finish. Even so, with the pitting of the surface it would take a ton of work to get it right. The best thing to do would be to either try a small inconspicuous spot inside the door or maybe go for a brushed style of finish. Hope this helps Hounb, Happy New Year to you lad...:)

My Manta (new CH edition) has a rock-solid centerpost. Maybe cuz I've only taken if off my Reo once or twice. And lookathat squonkhole...

On the other hand, I strayed and bought a cheap-a$s clone atty that came with a BF pin  - put that pin in, and the effer wobbles no matter how tight you make it. Total waste of $12 or whatever.

Just to expound a bit, if your only wish is to remove the horizontal wear marks across the back and panel, then you may be able to get away with it by hitting it gently with a buffing wheel and a bit of finishing rouge.
That's what I was thinking. That edition s finish is weird. It feels like it is polished aluminum
