Has anyone written their representing congressmen to point out that this is a waste of taxpayers money, especially in Republican States? Why should we pay for this when we aren't able to help people who are devastated by hurricanes?

From nowhere to the world. Thanks taptalk!

I just sent emails to my representative and two senators pointing out this example of CDC's public-health malpractice and waste, fraud, and abuse (those 3 little words beloved by govt. auditors) and asking them to investigate. Will be interested if any of them reply...

Yeah... Doesn't Take much more than a Big Red Crayon to Connect those Dots.

I Wonder if the CDC Plans to Blanket the Air the Waves with Ads a few days After the FDA Public Comment Period is Over.

Of Course they Wouldn't do it During the Public Comment Period. That would just be Plain Silly.

I say we blanket the (internet) airwaves with our own videos that counter, and balance, that anticipated message and provide accuracy to experiences of ecig users.

Could be dozens of videos that go up and are communicating similar story, but are rather disjointed in how they are rolled out, or could be say 5 segments that are no more than 15 min. each collecting these dozens of videos into one video (or rather 5 videos).

I'm glad to contribute my skill as video editor to such a project. And am very likely to bring this up on CASAA forum as something to consider going forward.

I view ECF as the Pre-Action Briefing Room, the place to exchange ideas and information and discuss tactics. Then it's on to the Action, to educate, instigate, to write letters and emails, to make phone calls, to visit vendors, attend hearings, meet w/ legislators, etc. etc. Both are necessary to the Battle to Save Ecigs. (I will not discuss the third part of the equation --Covert Intelligence -- here, for obvious reasons... ;))

I contacted them and told them I found it to be a wasted effort since there has been no science made public to the general population supporting or disproving e-cigarettes. Nor are there the same ingredients in e-cigs that are in cigarettes, cigars, cigarellos/little cigars and that the ingredients of e-cigs have not been made public so how can they compare them at present.

This is what I Always Liked about you and Small Handful of Others like you. You Don't see the ECF as the End of the Road. But as a Stepping Stone into Action.

I thought when the FDA made it's Deeming Announcement that it would be the Tipping Point that got Most People into Action. But it Really Hasn't.

People seem Content to just Vent their Anger by making Post after Post after Post about how Wrong Things are. Where is the Action?

Then the Tsunami of Negative News Article Hit. And I thought, OK... This will get People Up Off their Butts. But that Didn't either. There are about a Dozen Current Threads about Slanted and Skewed News Articles. But when I post something like this...

I really Don't Care if Pop-Sci doesn't believe in Climate Change. Or if N-Theory should Replace the Standard Model.

What I would Like to See is One Person, Just One Person, Post that they sent an e-Mail saying that they Did Not Approve of Article that Pop Sci Published.

It seems All we do is Post to the ECF when we Don't Like Something that is Written in the Media. Jeeze, At Least a person could Copy and Paste their ECF Post and e-Mail it to a Media.

Thank You DetraMental.

Hopefully with your Help, and the Help of Others, we can Prevent a TV Ad like the one below from airing where they Inject e-Cigarettes into the Mix.

I'm really annoyed by it! How can they possibly make an ad when there's been nothing, I mean nothing done yet to provide the general public or the FDA with scientific proof or a list of ingredients? I know we here at ECF have our means to that info but not the gp. And even if a person does use an ecig for a year after quitting cigs and has a condition occur whose to say it's not caused by the years of smoking, how ridiculous!! It's outrageous!!

But Isn't that the Plan? If Fill the Average Persons Head Full of Fear and Mis-Conceptions?

It seems like a Great Plan to Me. And Opens the Door for Justification of just about any Government Regulations and Taxes.

I have said Many Times in the Past that what the Vaping Community Really Needed was a Good PR Firm. So that there could be One Single Entity to Counter all the FUD and Skewed Studies that we have seen for the Past 2 Years.

But we Don't have a PR Firm. So it is Up to Those Who Have the Least to Do the Most.

The Time for Talking and Long Debates is Over. Now is the Time to Do what you Did. And send e-Mails, Letters and Phone Calls and Call these People Out.

People will Do what they Do if they Think/Know they can Get away with it. But think twice if they Know they will People are Watching. And will Nail Them to a Cross when they Go Over the Line.

BTW - Here is a little Interplay of something that happened in another Thread that made me Smile...

I wanted to leave a comment on HuffPo but refuse to link to my FB account. So I will just say that I find it really sad that so many people are so hateful and small minded that they want to doom smokers to a life of suffering and eventual death. So many people want to quit smoking but feel helpless and hopeless to do so. They might never get a chance to use ecigs in the near future because they won't be available and the general public is busy demonizing current vapers. It seems like the onslaught of junk articles and junk science are never ending these days. It's depressing.

Right On for Wanting to Contact the Huffington Post! And letting them know what you Feel.

Maybe this will help...

It seems like you could Almost just Copy and Paste what you Posted Here and e-Mail it to them.

Right on. I think I will. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

On that note, does anyone know how to find out who their advertisers are? I think I'll act on the idea of contacting them also.

You just put a Big Smile on my Face with your post T0rtitude. Thank You!

Because I have been Really Discouraged Lately reading Post after Post of people Mad about what they have been Reading in the News.

But Not Mad Enough to Do Anything About it.

Sometimes it is as Easy as Simply Providing a Contact Link to get Someone to send e-Mail which Voices their Opinion.

I sent a few more emails to the CDC asking again, what's up with them looking for e-cig users for their latest ads. No replies though (and probably won't get any.)

I'm in the process of sending emails to more Senators and Reps asking them what's up with this as well. I'll be interested to see their responses.

Yes. Although, It's hard to keep calm while I write as I'm really annoyed by all the FDA and CDC crap that's going on.

I hear you.

And I feel like we are Limbo. Like Lambs patiently waiting to be herded up for Slaughter. Seems like we are Just Waiting and Not Preparing for Anything.

I'm confident that CASAA is helping us in the "preparing" though. It's membership has been growing tremendously in these last few weeks:) We will have strength in numbers.

I hope so.

I just hate when I go to the Horse Races to Bet All My Money on One Single Horse. I also Don't think it is fair to Put All the Burden on CASAA to Win Our Battles for Us.

I Encourage Everyone to Join CASAA and to Donate Generously. But I Also think that People Need to Start Doing what You and the Others in this Thread are Doing.

And that is Taking Matters into your Own Hands and to Play a More Active Role.

Agree.

It's my hope that every member (of ECF and every other vapor forum) is "doing" something and are not being indifferent and apathetic about all these vaping issues!

Sometimes I get so mad that my hands start shaking.

How many Times did you see me Edit a Post or Fat Finger something I wrote in the Last Two Days?

That Vein on my temple Doesn't throb much. But for the Last 2 Days it has looked like the Keystone Pipeline.

LOL
