Let me tell you, I did Chantix and actually quit smoking for slightly over a year. The Chantix made me absolutely insane and entirely anti-social. I can't began to describe how wacked out I was. Like some of the others have pointed out, Chantix can really alter the way one thinks, reacts, perceives things around them. What a nightmare experience. I should have never restarted smoking, but I am grateful that vaping is an alternative. I already feel better and have been vaping only four days now. Yeah I'll take vaping over Chantix any time.

I considered using chantix but wasnt too comforatable it. So I tried vaping after patches and gum failed. I thank god for vaping :vapor:
A family memeber who tried chantix said his cravings for cigarettes increased. Which struck me as odd, but alright. Along with the side effects too, it just wasnt appealing.

There people that had success with it, so I cant knock it. What ever gets you off of analogs gets a thumbs up from me :thumb:

i too tried chantix.....i hated it and came off of it due to the side effects. i have to take some very dangerous drugs and decided this was not a good mix. over the 45 years that i smoked, i used patches, gum, hypnosis, etc.....every known way of quitting. i did have short sucesses but when major stress, i would go back to the stinkies. in december a close family member got very sick, hubby and i had been wanting to quit again. i decided that since stress would drive me to smoking, i was going to quit while under great stress this time.....if that makes any sense...but it did to me. hubby said he would quit any day i picked. i went to the corner store and bought us cig a likes and have not smoked since. i have 4 specialists docs that totally approve of me vaping....so vaping is here to stay for us!

You need to get your tushy over to the FDA website and tell them your story, ASAP! Be detailed!

All this talk of FDA this and FDA that. Well here is one for the FDA. I have a SEVERE mental condition and take some pretty hardcore meds for it. I have tried to stop smoking numerous times over the 22 years I did smoke. Gums are crap. Patches are worse and because of the severity of my mental illness I can not take Chantix as it will increase the problems I already have. Found vaping, quit smoking. Now I am not killing myself, which is a good thing. The best part is all the freaking non-smokers that smokers can kill each year will decline as well. Now the FDA wants to push for bans. Okay let me see. Take a medicine that can kill you, Hey they are fine with that. Smoke, well that can kill you too. Kill others while smoking. Holy crap. I thought for one second that my illusion of the FDA being someone I could trust was founded. Guess not. They want us all dead thats what it is.

Wow...I'm really surprised at everyones comments on Chantix. I used it to quit and stayed quit for about 7 months...until our horse kicked our kids brand new puppy...well, not kicked, stomped...and having to deal with the emotions of two small kids and figuring out what to do about the horse..and looked over and hubby was still chain smoking...started back. Anyhow, I had really no side effects with it...besides making my smokes taste so bad I never wanted to touch one, that is. Matter of fact, I was just fixing to try and get back on them...because it's been years since I tried it before, then I found out about Vaping. Anyhow...sorry to hear about others bad experience with it.

Years ago, I tried Zyban (precursor to Chantrix) to quit. It had similar side effects. I quit for 11 months. The only side effects I had were some whacked-out dreams. I'm talking wake-up-with-a-startle-sitting-upright-quick type dreams. For those few seconds after waking, you thought your dream was real. So real that I took my home defensive shotgun from my bedside and put it in the closet.

I told my wife I was having a chemically induced PTSD. I got off the pills. While I stayed off the stinkies for 11 months, one day for NO reason while at a gas station, when the attendant asked, "Anything else ?" I nonchalantly said, "Yeah, gimme a box of Marlboro 100's.". And I was back like I never quit.

Vaping has been a true life changer. Although my psychotic dreams have been replaced with a mild form of OCD..."Do I have enough supplies ?? (count, count, count)" Let's see, it take 3-5 days for delivery, I have....(count,count,count)." LOL

I'll take OCD over suicidal/homicidal thoughts any day! Besides you can never have enough vaping supplies!
