I've been vaping a vamo for two months now and have not been disappointed. i purchased a "blem" provari and was having a few problems with it. first off, my iclear 30 clearomizer would not work on it. it had no problem on a couple different vamos and my fiances provari, just wouldnt work on mine. Another minor issue was air flow restriction. with a carto tank i couldnt tighten it down as much as i would have liked.

Do you and your fiance have the same version? Another member and I noticed on ours that the V2.0 connector pin is very slightly more recessed than the V2.5. You probably wouldn't notice it unless you were using them side by side and switching tanks back and forth. It only came to my attention because I have airflow restriction on one of my tanks and I had to remove it when I put it on the V2.0.

Amazing Bobo blog. Kudos to you, kitty kat! Thank you for sharing this. I don't know if I see a Bobo in my future, but the right Bobo in the right configuration and colors has potential. A marvelous addition to any collection. Sigelei is very near the top of my most favorite APV's. Love the V3/V5. My most favorite for a time. Could the Bobo be that next favorite, or favorite backup. We shall see. Time shall tell. My very best to you, Ocelot!

Thank you, I had fun writing it. I got the Bobo because it's cute, but have been very impressed by the performance. It has turned me into a Sigelei Zmax fan. If I was looking for a mod in that class, I would definitely look at the Zmax mini or the flat head telescopic.

I love Provari. but there are mods made in the united states with similar readings on Pbusardo's oscilloscope. The Buzzpro uses a boost circuit just like the Provari and gets the same readings. The vvReoGrand uses the same chip as the buzzpro and is another great US made vv option. All of these are good options, and can be sent in for repair. Buy a good quality mod, and you will be proud of it for years. Buy a cheap mod, and it will break or eventually let you down performance or durability wise.

Not to start a major argument, but the Buzzpro uses stacked batteries and uses a Buck circuit to regulate voltage. It's much easier to provide clean voltage when the input voltage is higher than the output voltage. I believe the VV Reo operates the same way, with stacked batteries.
It's easy to confuse, but there is a major difference bettween a "Buck" and a "Boost" circuit.

My local shop always jokes about how people purchase a mod simply due to it's price. They mentioned that the customers who spend less on their mods by purchasing clones or cheaper mods also spend their saved cash on higher quality liquids and tanks. Those customers are usually pleased with their overall vaping experience.

Your local shop must be selling cheap stuff and telling you that the cheap stuff is better..

Sorry but I couldn't help but laugh at this statement...

Never heard the word BUCK circuit before but it sounds right :p The ReoVV and the Buzz are both time tested great devices. The Provari was one of the 1st, or the very 1st device to utilize a BOOST circuit, right? And the Provari does not utilize pulse modulation, do the VVreo or Buzz? I don't think they do. The vvReoGrand and the Provari would be tops on my list before a foreign made VV device. Although I like the looks of the Sigelei Zmax telescopic in stainless steel. Seems like it'd be a sturdy device and it'd be 1st or 2nd on my top list of foreign made vv/vw mods with the Zmax mini. I don't like the looks of the SVD or the MVP or any of the plastic or flimsy telescoping devices I've been seeing. Telescoping devices, esp. if made cheaply, can easily have problems with the telescoping threads I've learned first hand.

Sorry to creep into the tech stuff, it's not my forte, but the ProVari does use PWM. It's on the ProVape website, but they don't go into any details that I can find. It is 800hz vs ≈33hz of the Chinese mods, but I don't know if anything else is different.

I also learned about buck and boost the other day. I thought it was interesting and copied it:

Buck converters are used if you need to convert a voltage to something lower than the source (battery's voltage)

Boost converters are used if you need to convert a voltage to something higher than the source (battery's voltage)

A buck boost converter is one that can do both.

My spouse and I are sailors.....and he thinks he's a pirate!! This is so cool....great creativity....love it!! I'm an artist. I should be able to come up with something interesting....if, and when I do....I'll post a picture. :)

It's cotton fabric. It's not difficult to make your own wraps.

Thanks for sharing your journey....your collection is nothing short of amazing! Don't say it's nearing it's end though....you know there will always be something new and shiny around the corner. :toast:

The precut cotton quilting squares work really well. I think this one was 99¢ at Walmart.

I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I have a tendency to be overly helpful, even if I'm on rocky ground.

It was intended as a good thing. The myth that the Provari doesn't use PWM is one that just won't seem to die. Even though, as you stated, it says so right on their site. I cringe every time I read it.

So, at the risk of being repetitive, I'm glad you said it. :)
