I never wash my cat. Why do you feel it's necessary? I do brush him sometimes when it's shedding season, and I pet him a lot, and he goes out and rolls in the driveway and comes in all dusty, but he licks himself and stays clean that way. At least that was what I was always told. Is Alice a longhair? Do you have to wash them? I thought brushing was good enough. Do you use a special cat shampoo? I'd worry about removing oils from the coat that protect the cat from skin problems.
alice was very sickly looking when she first came to me..her coat and skin...was terriable..at first I wanted her to be a indoor cat...shes very small...but to much water under the bridge...her past owners...never cared for her right...she was left to rome day and night....so shes allowed out a few hours in the daytime..we have many ferral big cats....around here....mainly there here at night...when alice is shut down..sometimes through the day...they sneak in...they are full of worms ....skin mites...my neighbours cat..was getting bad skin mites...terriable lumps...all over her body....the vet told her...seeing she lets her cat rome day and night..would be best to wash her....we have these big drain water tunnels out the front of house...where the ferrals go...alice just loves going in them....so I cant watch her every second ...she goes in white comes out smokey grey...I use products from vets called..dermcare...aloveen...shampoo conditioner..has oatmeal/aloe vera...to protect skin....it has improved alices coat....amazing...plus leaves a lovely natural smell.....
