you become more interesting everyday...I envy folks who can work with there hands....I was such a wild child in my youth....so full of rebellion....married way to young...got caught up....in so much crap.....yes if there was a second bite of cherry to be had....I have so many ideas....now....but alas......when your hands go bad....there are limits....on what you can do....but theres far worse things that could have happened to me....I just have to learn...what use to take a few minutes...now can take a hour....that's life....just have to deal with it...

I find that everything that happens to me, no matter how bad it seems, has a life lesson in it somewhere. It's just figuring out what that lesson is. I'm still working on what this arm injury is supposed to tell me. Maybe your problem with your hands is teaching you patience and acceptance. At least it sounds like that's what you learned from it.

so true...sandy (patience) being the magic word.....acceptance im still learning to deal with....but im working on it;)

I think we are all works in progress, not finished products. If there was nothing left to learn, I think life would get boring. Sometimes the learning is a struggle, but if you get a brief respite from the struggle, it feels good for a while, but it never lasts. There have been times I've thought I finally figured it all out, only to have some new obstacle come up to show me that I'm still groping my way through life with no clear path.

On the local tv news this morning it was reported that coffee is good for you and those who drink 3 or more cups a day live longer. I drink at least 6 cups a day, guess that means I'll live forever.

I heard that Amen!

These surveys and trials are sometimes a lot of bunk. At one time a trial survey showed that a glass of beer or wine once or twice a day was very good for you, now they say the opposite. Ask Kon about the people of Greece. They are among the heaviest smokers and yet lung cancer levels are below the world average. Some say it is from cooking with olive oil and drinking wine. Nobody really knows squat except the ALMIGHTY. I have never been a deep thinker or philosopher, but being a child of the 60s "If it feels good do it" within reason of course. NUF SAID:2cool:

Yep, when I see or hear something that starts with "Studies show......." I take it with a grain of salt. Studies can be made to show almost anything, as can surveys.

Life's a mystery and with all the knowledge today they still can't figure out everything. Except something like a giant sized soft drink is worse for you than a small one. Duh....

I totally agree with you Sandy. I'm a believer in karma and have read up a little on Buddhism. Some people believe that karma affects what you do right now, today. The Buddhists believe that the karma you have in this life time are from your past life. I'm not sure about how karma comes about, but I do recognize it's there.

I've read up a little on Buddhism, too, and a lot of it I don't understand, but I guess it helped me think about the meaning of life. I'm not sure we need to know all the answers, such as whether karma affects us now or in a future or past life, but it's interesting to think about. I used to want all the answers, but as time went on, I realized no one knows the answers, and they are impossible to figure out completely, anyway, so we just have to go with what feels right and try to do the best we can. I do think there's some sort of order to the universe, and trying to fit into that order works better than trying to go against it. Sometimes which is which is hard to tell.

My thoughts parallel yours Sandy. I've always asked questions. My parents told me my first sentence was a question. I've realized no one has all the answers and to live my life as best as I can. I still ask questions, and sometimes disagree with the answers but I realize that I don't know it all and neither does anyone else. That was my turning point in my life.

I posted this elsewhere in the filling tanks forum, but thought if anyone here is into tanks and filling, this DIY Slap Yo Momma would be interesting. I took me only 5 minutes to make one.

If you are into experimentation, you can make your own Slap Yo Momma tool with a spare delrin drip tip and a stainless steel 10 penny nail. I just ground down the mouth piece end of a spare delrin drip tip to a point, then cut off a 10 penny stainless steel nail to 3/4 inch, leaving the flat end at the top. I forced the blunt end of the nail into the pointed end of the delrin tip and there you have it an ugly replica of the Slap Yo Momma for less than the price of a drip tip and a nail, but it works great.

That's way cool Rabbit! I use my drip tip (mouth side) to push the carto down and then turn the carto a bit sideways in the tank to fill. I've gotten better at doing it, but this looks like it takes all the headache out of filling a tank.

Now I wish I had a dremel!!!! Not another thing to buy now!!!! ;)

Noooooooooooooooo! You had to do it!!!!! :) I need another box to keep my DIY stuff in and was thinking of going to Harbor Freight today or tomorrow. Right now, I'm using the box it came in to store all of those little bottles with no organization and it's driving me nuts!

Actually, I do have a small air tool that would probably do the trick. I just hate dragging out my huge pancake compressor out to run it.

One last question, does the 10 penny nail really cost 10 pennies? :)

I'm off to PT soon. I have a few things to do before I leave. Once again, it's snowing, and it's ferociously cold outside, with a stiff breeze, so I will drive the mile to PT rather than walk. I'm glad I have the option.

Before I go, here's a photo of burdocks, the weed every pet owner hates, but there's a kind of weird beauty in their structure, if you think about it. Did you know that they invented Velcro after considering the mechanics of how burdocks cling? For the full story, see http://www.todayifoundout.com/index...velcros-inventors-pants-after-a-hunting-trip/

anyone remember the movie ladyhawk....?

Oh that's one of the top 5 favorites! I have 2 in VHS and 1 DVD (not yet opened) but end up watching it on the tube most times!
Goliath is to die for! :D

The bread is already in the oven. Looks pretty good, too. The only real problem I had this time was the bread looked pretty good but I had counted the cups of flour as I was putting them in and thought I needed one more cup of flour. I put in a third of that last cup of flour and then the bread was too dry. I had to put water back into the bread. Oh well:)

A few more minutes and I will be pulling those hot yummy loaves of bread from the oven and will be done baking by 12:30. That is more like it!!!!! The new yeast was the answer to my bread problems.

Lizzie: Curious - do you store your yeast in the fridge / freezer or cupboard? I've READ - never tried - it keeps longer in the freezer.
Anyway - just really wanted to say everytime you talk about baking bread it takes me back to the growing years! Mom always made bread - we loved to quick slice off the top (still in the pan) and get some jelly on it and run before she caught us! Boy would she get mad some days! Then it would be the bottom and sides - we LOVED the crust! Gosh but I miss that! Now it's the biggest no no food.

The chats about hoarding: it's a form of OCD. There is really very little help in the psych world for it. It feels like living with a perpetual 3 your old - your constantly "picking up after". Someone once said we are all just one trauma away from becoming like that.
"Stuff" is a much safer "relationship".

My kiddo is safely parked at a truckstop not far from Springfield MO. So thankful for the internet. I was able to find an owners manual and tell him how to turn on the NOAA alert system on his CB radio. (Did get a manual with it - 2nd hand)

Hubby came out to help me with watering the "kids" last night. Glad he saw how crazy it get sometimes. Some may have been because of the weather change coming. But I'm also thinking Molly may be coming in heat. Figure she's a year old now. Habib - sort of wondering if he was gelded 'later' than most. Guessing him to about 3 or 4 - leaning toward 4. Those two where really kicking at each other - in the barn. Worst I've seen so far. Once they settled down - let Amira out of the pen and snapped a lead on Zane's halter. He NEEDS to be worked with! Guessing he's around 9 months. Fits in the Weanling sized halter - which is plenty big for him. Glad I added a couple more holes - it's at the smallest I can make it.
At any rate - hubby now once again finally "sees" why I want to make some changes out there - at least add another gate to separate them for feeding. He has also said I could sell her. He doesn't have the time for her that he thought he would. :grr:

SandySu - Have you considered sharing your photo's at a place like Desktop Nexxus? They have a huge collections of pics in many categories for 'puter backgrounds. I stumbled upon a gorgeous one of a river / mountains taken somewhere near Croatia. I had never really thought about what the 'terrain' around there might be. Please keep sharing with us! :D

Enjoying everyone's posts! Time to get some laundry started ...

No More Ugly Tanks from me.

Found some aluminum tubing in my vast supply of "junk" in my shed and it was the same inside diameter as the 20 ML syringes. Cut off a small piece, removed burrs, added the plugs, carto, juice and now I have a shiney new tank for 10 minutes work. No need to search for a stainless or chrome tank.

If I use a 510 carto the adapter would not be needed and it would sit flush with the Vamo.

Very nice Rabbit. You are extremely creative and talented.
