Wow! I admire the way your mind works! That is something I know I would do - if I had the understanding required to mess with electrical stuff!

Sandy / Tail - Stop! Your making me hungry! Quiche: spinache kind????? Yum! :D

hmm only 10 pages behind! LOL! I have some time waiting for the laundry ...
Boy do I love the Shout color grabber sheets! (Umm Look out for the cheapo "Breezy" brand - they tend to disintigrate the second time around ... Sticking w/ the Shout brand on that!)

Oh that's one of the top 5 favorites! I have 2 in VHS and 1 DVD (not yet opened) but end up watching it on the tube most times!
Goliath is to die for! :D

Lizzie: Curious - do you store your yeast in the fridge / freezer or cupboard? I've READ - never tried - it keeps longer in the freezer.
Anyway - just really wanted to say everytime you talk about baking bread it takes me back to the growing years! Mom always made bread - we loved to quick slice off the top (still in the pan) and get some jelly on it and run before she caught us! Boy would she get mad some days! Then it would be the bottom and sides - we LOVED the crust! Gosh but I miss that! Now it's the biggest no no food.

The chats about hoarding: it's a form of OCD. There is really very little help in the psych world for it. It feels like living with a perpetual 3 your old - your constantly "picking up after". Someone once said we are all just one trauma away from becoming like that.
"Stuff" is a much safer "relationship".

My kiddo is safely parked at a truckstop not far from Springfield MO. So thankful for the internet. I was able to find an owners manual and tell him how to turn on the NOAA alert system on his CB radio. (Did get a manual with it - 2nd hand)

Hubby came out to help me with watering the "kids" last night. Glad he saw how crazy it get sometimes. Some may have been because of the weather change coming. But I'm also thinking Molly may be coming in heat. Figure she's a year old now. Habib - sort of wondering if he was gelded 'later' than most. Guessing him to about 3 or 4 - leaning toward 4. Those two where really kicking at each other - in the barn. Worst I've seen so far. Once they settled down - let Amira out of the pen and snapped a lead on Zane's halter. He NEEDS to be worked with! Guessing he's around 9 months. Fits in the Weanling sized halter - which is plenty big for him. Glad I added a couple more holes - it's at the smallest I can make it.
At any rate - hubby now once again finally "sees" why I want to make some changes out there - at least add another gate to separate them for feeding. He has also said I could sell her. He doesn't have the time for her that he thought he would. :grr:

SandySu - Have you considered sharing your photo's at a place like Desktop Nexxus? They have a huge collections of pics in many categories for 'puter backgrounds. I stumbled upon a gorgeous one of a river / mountains taken somewhere near Croatia. I had never really thought about what the 'terrain' around there might be. Please keep sharing with us! :D

Enjoying everyone's posts! Time to get some laundry started ...

Please be careful with those horses! I got seriously injured with one being naughty because Penny was in heat. If they are kicking at each other, you could be caught in the crossfire. It might be a good idea to go among them with a whip in hand. I do that now, since the accident. I don't even need to touch them with it. I just waggle it in their direction, and they walk away. If one of them is afraid of the whip, I don't care. So much the better. He'll leave faster. But none have panicked when they see it wave in their direction. If I needed to, I'd gently tap a horse with it, and if that didn't work, then a sharp smack. But wagging it at them has worked wonders so far. I take my dressage whip. It has a bit more reach than a crop, yet it's not so long, like a longe whip, to be too ungainly. Sure, it's harder to halter Penny with a whip in my hand, but so far, I've figured it out. Penny knows what the whip is for and who I'm aiming it at, so it doesn't scare her in the least, which is good. She has very good basic training (I pat myself on the back) and understands the whip and isn't afraid of it. I can use it to flick flies off her ears while riding, and she knows that I'm flicking flies, not trying to beat her around the head. But if I need it to reinforce my leg, she responds to it. This is good for any horse to learn -- to not be afraid of the whip and to know what it's for and what it means.

I have the photos -- some of them, anyway -- on a Flickr site, and people can see them there. Occasionally, someone has contacted me and asked if they could use one for their website or something, and I've always given permission. I think once I found one on a site and it wasn't credited, but I don't really care, since it's not like I'm going to do anything with them other than put them up for people to enjoy.

And here's a funny takeoff on dressage. Schweppes Bull - YouTube
LOL! That was cute! as if I don't find enough to watch on my own! LOL I had about 5 tabs open (FireFox) - hubby had 3 on his page .. . Suddenly FF stopped responding .. grr - now to go find all those videos again! Oh well ...

Thanks for sharing! Like that 2nd and 3rd best! What exactly are we looking at on the first one? Somehow I pictured Greece as flat / warm and one big "lakeshore" of blue green waters!

No More Ugly tanks from me.

Found some aluminum tubing in my vast supply of "junk" in my shed and it was the same inside diameter as the 20 ML syringes. Cut off a small piece, removed burrs, added the plugs, carto, juice and now I have a shiney new tank for 10 minutes work. No need to search for a stainless or chrome tank.

If I use a 510 carto the adapter would not be needed and it would sit flush with the Vamo.
Pretty cool Wabbit! Hope your wife appreciates your talent - even if she doesn't care for farm life ... Not sure where is better ...
General living - town is great - don't seem to get as dirty ... however seems like the air is not as clean so farm life is better ... but then you start adding critters and ...

You went to PT! How was it? Did you get exercises to do at home? What, besides drugs, are they doing about the tight muscles?

What storm? Is something headed our way? The Midwest always gets the weather we get a few days later, so inquiring minds want to know.
Storm: "Q". I'm happy to hear they downgraded it a bit for us ...

PT: Oh it was good to go as I live for the Hot Packs!!! Other wise - PT is often pretty painful. But it feels so good when they stop! I could tell a difference when I watered the kids a couple hours ago. Much less low back pain. "We" are hoping because much of the low stuff is fairly new that it will be a "quick recovery". He wants me in 2 days a week with double sessions to start. I told him if I can get back to where I was about a year ago, I'll be satified with that. I may never get my neck 100% but that's ok. I just need to be able to look after the house and enjoy the "kids" (horses). He hopes I will enjoy the heck outta the "kids" with my feet firmly planted on the ground! A part of me is itching like CRAZY to jump on and go! Reality is: I don't know these horses well enough - I'm Chicken___t to do it. I still need to earn some money to pick up the rest of the tack. (Blanket & bridle) Right now everything is going into their tummy! I still have the same stretching exercises ... Wondering where I bookmarked your exercise for the abs. I was going to review it and discuss it with him.
If I were a horse, I'd say I have very sore "haunches"! I knew that would be the case just from the burning while he was doing his thing ... but no bruises - that surprised me a little.

One thing I finally took the time to do: I cut a couple pieces off an old garden hose to put on the water bucket handles. Wow! Does that ever make a difference! Much more comfy than the original little plastic that always breaks ... :)

Kon must have backed into those 24KV switches and vanished like our vapors

Everything is done by automations you just press a button or in a manual case remote levers. You cannot operate this much power with your HANDS. You will be vaporised before you even touch at a distance of 20cm

These surveys and trials are sometimes a lot of bunk. At one time a trial survey showed that a glass of beer or wine once or twice a day was very good for you, now they say the opposite. Ask Kon about the people of Greece. They are among the heaviest smokers and yet lung cancer levels are below the world average. Some say it is from cooking with olive oil and drinking wine. Nobody really knows squat except the ALMIGHTY. I have never been a deep thinker or philosopher, but being a child of the 60s "If it feels good do it" within reason of course. NUF SAID:2cool:[/QUOTE]
I think it was at Natural Health Information Articles and Health Newsletter by Dr. Joseph Mercola that I'd read it's the fumes (off gassing) of teflon coating that has more to do with lung cancer than smoking or not. Dad used talk about 90+ old timers that grew and rolled their own smokes and never got sick. I worry more about vaccines, GMO food and that sort of thing. Someone here just commented about Fluoride in the water ... (Sandy?) From what I've read and heard - that stuff is a poisonous byproduct of something - and rather than pay to safely store it, they found a way to make money while getting rid of it. (Have you read much about Eugenics or Agenda 21? Much of it will make sense from that perspective.) I read too much and listen to too much alternative news.

I posted this elsewhere in the filling tanks forum, but thought if anyone here is into tanks and filling, this DIY Slap Yo Momma would be interesting. I took me only 5 minutes to make one.

If you are into experimentation, you can make your own Slap Yo Momma tool with a spare delrin drip tip and a stainless steel 10 penny nail. I just ground down the mouth piece end of a spare delrin drip tip to a point, then cut off a 10 penny stainless steel nail to 3/4 inch, leaving the flat end at the top. I forced the blunt end of the nail into the pointed end of the delrin tip and there you have it an ugly replica of the Slap Yo Momma for less than the price of a drip tip and a nail, but it works great.

A friend works for the power company here and tells me they have some old "switches" that use 10ga shotgun shells for "remote" activation, LOL.

LOL.
No on ours you can use even the internet to switch them on and off from around the world.

69230_10200464308108000_1796751659_n_resize.jpg

As you can see they are enclosed in cabinets totally safe to be near. The noise they make when they switch on and off just makes your knees tremble.

You guys should be here in Kansas! Right now I've got 12"-15" of snow, and it is STILL snowing! I'm not complaining one bit, though, as that's an inch of moisture that we so desperately need...the drought here has been awful. Here are a couple of pics- one from yesterday, and one taken this morning (before the snow started again).

Looks like I'm gonna just sit right here and vape my new toy (which just arrived yesterday) while watching it snow. :)

Kico, I heard that freezing yeast is OK for the "Instant" kind (that I use), but not so much for the "regular" kind (that you have to proof first - kills them). I'm hoping this is true, cuz I just bought a 1 lb brick of Saf-Instant (on sale for $3), and realized that I only use 1/4 tsp per batch (no-knead chiabatta/focaccia) - this brick's gonna last a really long time! I poured 8 oz into a cobalt blue glass bottle and capped it with a Zyliss wine bottle stopper to put in the freezer (haha, same setup I use for my nic). The rest is in the original bag with a chip clip in the fridge.

I just started baking bread, and it amazes me how homemade bread can be so much tastier than store-bought - and with just flour, yeast, salt and water...for a whopping total of 74¢ per batch!
If I add herbs into the batter before fermenting, do you know if it will affect the rise?

Here's one article about Teflon. Is Teflon safe? - Health & Wellbeing It sounds like its probably safe at reasonable cooking temperatures.

But something I researched a while ago is probably more worrisome: BPA, which is a plastic a lot of food containers are made from. See Plastic (Not) Fantastic: Food Containers Leach a Potentially Harmful Chemical: Scientific American

Welcome to Voltville. There was some snow here today in T-burg, too, but not like what you got. We're all impatiently waiting for spring -- with the exception of Debra, who is on the other side of the world and is waiting for fall.

DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS:

The web site of the National Broadcasting Company (NBC), NBC.com, is currently compromised, and is redirecting tens of thousands of legitimate users to multiple exploits serving malicious URLs and malware dropping malicious URLs. It appears that there are multiple exploits links on the NBC website. These links appear to be serving up the “Citadel malware”. Anyone that visits the site (which includes any sub page) can/will have malicious iframes loaded as well redirecting the user to exploit kits:

*Update: Not only NBC.com, but many other NBC sites, including Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Jay Lenos garage and others.

I have a friend who works from home, for one of the local universities, and this was sent out from her home office. Anyone? I get my news online from MSNBC, and am suddenly feeling deprived.:( As usual, our local online news has nothing to say about it.
