when i bought my first car in 1989 it was a 1948 car then i went for a 1952 , of course it was in cuba![]()
There is no snow, there is no salt, therefore, cars last forever.![]()
There might be salt. After all, Cuba is near the ocean. I remember when we were in California on the coast, cars rotted from the top down from salt in the air. Here, with salt on the ground, they rot from the bottom up. If you lived in California where there was coastal fog, you were sure to get salt damage unless you kept your car in a garage.
Hmmnn..... minimal salt, then, because salt does not evaporate. Residue from salt-water splashing would do it, though, because it doesn't take much. And driving on the beach would be a nasty. There might be salt....... If you lived in California where there was coastal fog, you were sure to get salt damage unless you kept your car in a garage.

Wouldn't you know it! I'm ready to buy a harness and someone at the mini website pm's me and says she got hers for half the price by going through an Amish shop that has no website but does have a catalog I can have sent to me. She sent photos, too. It looks nice and it is of Betathane. I'm calling for the catalog today.
It's always good (though sometimes more confusing) to have more options.
Yes, there are too many options
This is a good lead for me because she sent me good pics and info and she liked the shop. She has lots of minis and a number of harnesses. A referral makes a difference.
Bread is rising and outside work is moving right along here.
Are you tutoring today, SandySu?
I Might've been persuaded to wear a poodle skirt if I had been asked to a sock hop! I wish I had a (I think) 57 Bel Air.
And I LOVE the muscle cars from the 60's.
I would love to have a fully restored 65 mustang and I really want to have a 69 camaro
Are those photos of you?
I was never lucky enough to have either. My mom used to sew most of my clothes, and I remember begging for a poodle skirt in maybe 5th grade or so. The best I managed were saddle shoes. I don't know why (but I suspect finances had something to do with it), but my mom never bought me the latest fad, or she held out till it was passe, then got it for me.
The poodle skirt was before my time but wearing dresses to school no matter how cold it was in my past. They finally relented and let us wear pants under our skirts if it was really cold.
My favorite car that I owned was a beautiful blue '72 Caro with rocket tail lights. I loved that car.
My first car was a Dodge Dart with push button transmission.
You could wear 'em under your skirts? We weren't allowed to wear pants at all until I was in 7th grade. We've come a long way.
My '70 Camaro was a dark blue, 3 speed manual floor shift. I drove standard shifts until 1990, when I decided to give automatics a try.
