I've lived in several places, including the UK, and I very much admired AZ; but no place feels like home to me, except for FL.
Good morning, Peeps. The closest I got to Florida, was Brunswick, Georgia, Jekyll Island to be more precise.
The closest I have ever been to Florida is Houston Texas![]()
LOL, Lizzie. The closest I have been to Texas, is Georgia.
I'm a New Englander, Wuzz, we stay close to home. The only time that I ventured into the unknown lands, beyond the borders of our 6 state region, is when I was in the Army. It was scary out there. LOL
I was so happy to get back to the safety of New England. There were people with different accents and even some who didn't speak American. I was terrified, WuzzI was so happy to get back to the safety of New England.

QRXT, my middle niece moved to New York state. We felt that she was abandoning her family.
Years ago, I got into a conversation with a couple of park rangers, in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. They were husband and wife and their idea of a road trip, was to come to the beaches of Rhode Island. My idea of a road trip is to go the mountains of New Hampshire.![]()
I feel the same about the midwest. There were people with different accents and even some who didn't speak American. I was terrified, WuzzI was so happy to get back to the safety of New England.

After a harrowing experience in southwest Kansas, I RAN to Wisconsin, which is more midwest than Illinois, some of my family lived there before they moved to Illinois, and I have family there now.I suppose when you are raised in such a beautiful area you learn to leave well enough alone and stay put? I love to visit new places, but I would never move away from the Great Lakes. Well, maybe if I had unlimited funds I could leave for the worst part of winter....yeah, I could live with that.![]()
And I would rather go to Syria than another state of the US.
