I'm lucky in that aspect my Mother vapes and she used to smoke. What you can do is print off that info about e-cigs that is on the forum for new members about e-cigs and give it to her to read. That may ease her mind.

Maybe, Mom quit in her late 40's after struggling with it years ... later started back and quit just before 60 for good. Ahe can be pretty stubborn about new stuff. She used the 7 day adventist program and One-step filters. She never preached to me about smoking tho, since she knows you cant lead a horse to water .... She has a bit of COPD, but she still plays in a Tennis league in her 70's & is very active for her age i think, so more power to her.

Should have stayed in bed. My back is sore today for no reason I can think of. The new CE3s have primer in them and a lot of them have stress cracks. Looks like all of the center posts in them are low from casual examination (I don't have a depth guage and it's too early for me to jerry-rig one). One of them died, halfway through a nice, new flavor I was enjoying, so now I've got to clean another new one, empty the dud and start over. Icing on the cake is that I have three 78mm batteries that seem to have died at once, but I do have three more 78mms and three X2-650s to carry me over. Maybe I'll just go back to bed and get up tomorrow, uh oh, can't do that with a sore back.

Hope ur back is better now .... i had back problems bad at age 40 and it got better in few years. At least it made me realize i cant abuse the body like when i was younger & things my just hurt. Anyhow, when i wake up with it aching it now makes me paranoid it will kick in. Its not so much the pain, as it is worrying how long till it heals. .... glad u got lots of back up batterys, ur a smart man !!!!!

Wow - SandySu and Raynes - Such amazing stories! You're both incredible! You've both overcome such obstacles that have been placed in your path.

Here's the thing - I understand wild animals better than anyone I know because I have studied them intensely all of my life -BUT- no one can ever "read" how they will react or what they will do from moment to moment. Even supposedly "domesticated" wild animals are still instinctually wild. That much I know. And I do respect that. Awsum - don't misinterpret "I thought we had a connection". When I have been with wild animals, I can "feel" whether or not they see me as a threat by their vocalizations and body language. Understanding full well that this can change at a moment's notice. Still - I have had wild deer walk up to me and sniff my hand. I knew by their body language that it was curiosity only. I've also been treed by a moose. I knew by his body language that he just wanted me out of his territory, and he would have killed me given half a chance.

I knew that I had a connection with the tiger because of the vocalizations that he was giving me. These were the sounds that a tiger makes when he wants to be friends and play. His body language was in full play mode. A connection had been made. But, yes, it could have gone bad. That was the risk that I took to have the experience. At one point, it looked like it had gone bad; but it was no different than when two domestic cats are wrestling with each other in play. Gees - you're gonna have a fit when I post "Florida".

We all have our passions. Mine has always been wildlife and creating wildlife paintings. I take risks in order to enjoy that passion. In order to create paintings of an animal that accurately portrays their spirit, you really need to experience them. Many may think that I'm crazy, but it is worth the risk to me. The only time I've been really injured was by a black bear sow. I had not seen that cubs were present. My bad. It coulda been worse. And the fact of the matter is: I have MS. My capabilities are shrinking one by one. I intend to live my life to the fullest while I am still able. Anything less than that is not living. Not to me.

i caught snakes and snapping turtles as kid... i knew how to get turtle by the tail and i could identify all the poisonous snakes... it drove my mom and dad nuts tho. Also every other person who saw me with a snake told me it was copperhead, lol. But i loved it as a kid. Up to 40 or 45 i was a bit of dare devil, just never considered i could die.

Anyway, I am glad u can still enjoy ur passions ... i grew up in Tennessee and lots of my friends/cousins had horses... i never really rode em enough to be comfy with em, but horse people truly amaze me. I had a best buddy in college, stop any fear of dogs i ever had. He told me he had 2 dobermans growing up. I asked weren't u afraid of them ...... He laughed and said "Afraid of a f*&king Dog, i am bigger than any dog", now my horses are way bigger & tougher than me and i cant show them i am afraid, so why should be afraid of a Dog."... Some of thats just bravado, but it also makes alot of sense. Again i never had horses, but i thought about and it made sense and in general i know most animals are more afraid of u than them. Tigars, Black Bears & Giant Moose i doubt i would be calm around, but u got to live ur life is my motto.

Sitting down, facing forward.
You know, since I started vaping, I drink less coffee. I still love it, but because I am now drinking a lot more water, I have cut down on the coffee.

I cut my coffee back from three or four pots a day to three cups a day, OK 16oz cups, when I got on a health kick. Now that I'm vaping, I find myself wanting another cup of coffee. As part of my health kick I started drinking water and normally drink about a gallon a day, so vaping didn't effect that, but for some reason I want more coffee, good, fresh and strong!

Good morning Volties!

Chuck - I will answer your PM when I'm not camping. 'Kay?

Right now, I am drinking coffee from the lid of a thermos by a burnt out campfire and vaping my X2's. I'm being entertained by a pair of green herons down at the creek. Life is sooo good. I did manage to get stung by a honeybee at about 11 p.m. That takes talent!

I thought I would drop in and say hi. Doing well. Still vape free. Hope everyone is doing fine. :)

Congrats on remaining vape free. I don't mind vaping much at all, unless I look at the spreadsheet I keep of what I've managed to spend on vaping so far.

Come on, that bee was up way past its bed time!

Bee's see light in the night time as a threat to their hive. I was using a flashlight to get to and open my tent. The bee followed the beam with me into the tent. Sometimes bees will attack a Coleman type lantern as well. That's one of the reasons that I only use an old fashioned kerosine/lamp oil lantern.

It's kinda funny because I am so accustomed to feeling sensations on my skin that aren't real (bugs crawling on my arms, legs, and scalp) so I simply ignored the pain at first. That's how I generally treat these sensations. But then it got really intense! So I looked down (sans eyeglasses) and saw a tiny dark speck. I thought it was a small bug, and I was reeeaaalllly impressed that such a tiny bug could bite so hard! It was actually just the stinger. The honeybee had pulled a kamikaze and was crawling away across the floor of the tent. I felt so bad for her.

I'll put my new "blog" up when I'm done camping. :)

Sounds like its time for a heating pad, alternating with an ice pack,Motrin and snack food so the motrin won't upset your stomach and a good book. Hope your back gets better soon

Oddly enough, the only thing that works reliably for me is to get into gear and do some bending and stretching. So I did the laundry, played "Iron Chef" cooking some rice and chicken for Bo, then vacuumed the house. I was tired when I started so I don't feel any different now. I did take some ibuprofin though, sore arm from a wrenched tendon in the right ring finger.
