I was referring to snail mail junk mail. Things like catalogs from companies you'll never in a million years order from. The only problem is, they will stop all junk mail or none, so I like to get some catalogs from horse supply places, even if I didn't request them. With that in mind, when I heard about stopping junk snail mail, I decided not to sign up, since I might be missing something.

We use that stuff to start fires in the fireplace. Since we don't have a local newspaper it comes in real handy.

Unfortunately,,,,,,

I think it's possible to totally ruin an animal. To abuse it to the point it will NEVER be the same, or trust humans, or be happy again,,,

humans have counselling,,,,,,in addition to the possibility of love and affection to help them along,,,,,but even some of them don't ever get past it, IMHO.

I don't know as much as Blues but I think he will agree with me on this, actually when you rescue an abused animal you are their counselor if you think about it. We're really not any different then they are as far as feelings they just can't communicate verbally. That's why they are so great at reading our body language. Its us that have to learn their language and its doable. The only way they can tell us they are hurting is to scratch, bite, claw or kick. That mean behavior in my experience always gets worse before it gets better and the only way that I have found to deal with it is stay calm, cool and collected, after that normally a tentative bond starts and so does their healing. Not got as far as unconditional acceptance he wouldn't allow himself to love.

LOL Officer!

Hey I was minding my own business and she proposed to me. I told her I had socks older than her but it's the best thing that has ever happened to me. She keeps me on the straight and narrow and I'm only 20 years older than her. She says age is just a number plus I figure she will be strong enough to push me in my wheel chair in a few more years. My girls think she is the best and that's all that matters to me. We both agree the girls come first and 2 of the 5 are ours. I was just born too soon because had I met her when I was young I would only have had one wife, shes my rock and I love her with all my heart.

aw, this is so sweet!!!!! what's 20 years compared to that??? Love and compatibility are far more important,,,,,,and 20 years is nothing when you compare the 60+ years some couples differ in age!

Lexi sleeps in my room with me as well - but not on my bed! There would be no room for me. She has a couple of doggie mattresses stacked on the floor because mastiffs often have elbow issues, and don't do well on a hard surface. But, oh maaan! That girl can snore! Her bed is next to the sliding glass door. Last night, she was dreaming and all I could hear was her toenails clicking on the glass until I woke her up.

They sure can snore can't they? Lucy blows out her cheeks even like some humans do. The only time she even wants to sleep with me is when it storms and I can't bear those pleading eyes and whines. I don't have time to tell her story right now. I'm feeding horses and training. Just came in to take a break

I agree, Raynes. Calm, cool, and collected is the key. Animals read us fast, and they respond to what they read.

You've done a great job with Millie.

Morning,,,,,

not a good day here,,,,,,,my pain levels are going through the roof lately. Still not 100% what the problem is, but hopefully the doc will have some answers Monday (Tuesday?? the 22nd)

I'm really beside myself,,,,,I've decided to give up my two design team posts,,,,ASAP. A Design Team is a team that makes cards (or other projects) with freebie goodies that companies send you,,,,,,,I just can't sit in my craft chair long enough to make cards lately,,,,,,and when I CAN sit and make a card, I want to make the ones I want to make,,,,,,not what someone else tells me to make,,,,I'm late on one today, and I don't want to disappoint any longer,,,,,,it's just time to give them up until they can figure out the problem.

didn't mean to be a downer,,,,,,,but I'm a bit down today. :( I like my design teams,,,,but I just can't do it anymore. I never know when I'll be flaring, sometimes they don't get the products to me quickly so that I have 2 days to make a card,,,,and if I'm flaring those two days,,,,,,it's miserable. sigh.

Just.too.much.

Hope everyone is having a better day than I am,,,,,

but I think I'll be calling on someone for a creme brulee recipe when I get better at DIY

Oh gees ,Holly! I'm so sorry to hear this. Please don't worry about being a downer. We're like family here, only a heckuva lot less demanding. Sure hope you feel better and find out what the problem is quickly. I know that your posts have brightened many of my days. Here's to hopin' that your days brighten soon.

I think it's one of the up sides of the interweb, It brings people together from all walks of life that most likely would have never met and I have gotten to the point where I have to log in here to see what everyone is up to, kinda cool in a way. Hey you guy's be careful in that tree you might fall out...:D

You have company. I'm not on FB either.

About the only thing I do on FB is send family birthday wishes and share a few pics. Otherwise I can't stand it either. Once I put my account "on vacation" and then didn't go back for 18 months. I still only sign in about once a week. It's. Just. Boring. IMO, of course.
