TRICK OR TREAT how do you like my sock MONKEY costume complete with fangs, and wings ? BTW did you know there was a new biker club in your area --yep called the Bull Rammers. Meet Bulls Eye a farmer bought him yesterday from a bull rodeo farm how do you like them horns? Oh yea and the other guy here is Rammin Diesel. His friends call him Dodge.
Just BTW you and me Officer they ain't too happy about their ewes and cows being so traumatized by your gang and the farmer is ticked off to ,your friends just about shut down his dairy farm.
I told Bull and Ram you didn't have no part in that fiasco that you loved animals, that you were raised by wolves (I left out that one of them "wolves" was the Taco Bell dog.). Good news is that you ain't got to worry about locking the door of the club house, there is no door now. Might want to tell your friends not to be doing any shooting Bull and Dodge are wearing bullet proof attire plus a coat of armor

It wasn't me, like I said sheep lie. All I know is I came to handcuffed and surrounded by a bunch of passed out Bikers and Biker Chicks and a sheep. I'm innocent I tell you. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. The only thing I'm sure of is I'm going to get me a set of handcuff keys, bolt cutters are hard to operate with handcuffs on.

Boy I've got a lot of catching up to do, with just the cell phone I haven't been able to read much of the thread and without cable or the internet I feel so out of touch with the world so I'm reading the forum and channel surfing between 4 news stations on the TV. I will say living up here in the mountains has it's advantages, not one trick or treater all night so I get to eat all the candy...

Not much to update on Blues' situation. He and others are still working to clear debris and repair damages. It's rough because the more he gets done, the more he uncovers that needs to be done. Disheartening, to say the least. But - no animals were injured and the families that he sheltered were all safe.

JoAnn - I would normally never suggest this, but I'll do it anyhow because I know that it could help. One of the reasons that I'm still vaping even though it has been over three years since my last cigarette is because nicotine helps to relieve nerve pain. Many of us here with neurological disorders use the nicotine to alleviate our symptoms to some degree. I tried reducing my nic level from 18mg down to 6mg and I was amazed at how much worse my MS symptoms felt. When I caught on to that, I found that when my symptoms are particularly bad, if I vape 24mg or even occasionally 36mg for just a few minutes, it provides some relief. I then readminister as needed. I understand that your hubby is a non-smoker and is probably not a vaper, but it might be worth an experiment when he is having a rough time.

REALLY??!! I don't have any 36mg but I do have 24mg. If he would give it a try... that would be better than a lot of his pain meds that DON'T work. Thanks for the suggestion!

If you were to try this, I'd have him try a lower nic level first. Most people don't know how to inhale e-cig vapor, and it makes them cough. Even long time smokers often have trouble with vapor. Ya know how some folks cough in the shower? Same concept. The very highest I would start with is 18mg. You may have to teach him how to inhale.

I've never found a pain med that helps with MS either.

Not sure about the pain killing qualities of the higher nicotine levels but I can tell you this. When I first went from 60mg to 100mg for my DIY I was distracted by my Daughter and made a 10 ml bottle of juice that was coffee flavored 100mg and it caused me to flash back to the late 60s at a Dead Concert, I'll never make that mistake again!!! It Taught me to use labels and to pay close attention to what I am doing when mixing. It also caused me to have an uncontrollable urge to listen to Grateful Dead CDs the rest of the day.... "What a long strange trip it's been"...

Stopping by to say hello. As Raven told you, we were hit hard by Sandy. All the animals and people were and are safe which is the important thing. We have damage to some of the buildings here which affects how we take care of the animals. But we're just doing things differently. The more we clean up the more damage we uncover. We'll make it through, things will just be difficult for a while.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised but I am, that some of you did not know about Raven's battle with MS. Although neither of us usually mention our disabilities unless we must and if we feel comfortable. I am a Vietnam war veteran and was left disabled from that.

I admire Raven's strength and ability to overcome. She is one of a kind.

Konstantine, don't be negative even though it's hard not to be!

Thanks for the coffee, Rave.

I had a little good news this morning. I got up and peeked out the window and the street lights were on, power is back on! The lack of multiple four cycle motors running at full speed all day and night is a welcome change. Kind of figures, I bought almost a 25 gallons of gas yesterday for the generator.
Or look at another bright side: Your set for the winter months if an ice storm takes the power out again!

Konstantine - you CAN'T think like that. What you think becomes what will be. You still have purpose and meaning even if you don't see it right now. You still have people who read what you say and care that you are hurting - myself included. All of the doors seem closed to you, but just hang in there. One will open for you.

Totally agree with all you said here Rave. Yes, it's definitely EASIER SAID than DONE! I'm learning find ways to de-stress one day at a time. Past month the only time I don't have a headache is when I'm out w/ the horses. There's some really terrific encouragers on the forum, there's some really great humor - especially this thread - you guys have no idea how many times your comments where the best medicine! My motto is: when your broke you stay home. The risk is being isolated in the sticks.

Konstantine - I really hope you can find a place of solace somewhere in your off-line life and look for the humor EVERYwhere.
I think we live in a higher stress environment than our grandparents did - but we'll make it. The longest journey begins with one step.
We stopped by and gave a picture of my hubby sitting on the ground with "his girl" to the guy we bought her from today. I think it made his day! That in turn made my day! Sometimes helping another helps us ... Ok - I'll shut on the serious stuff now ...

Rave: thanks for the coffee! My mug was empty again. I'm not a morning person so it's greatly appreciated! Do you offer room service too? :D

Oh Rave - One of my favorite doc's said nicotine is also a mild anti-depressant. He is the ONE and ONLY to ever express sincere understanding appreciation of the effort to quit stinkies. Others always sound like a pull string toy: I know it's hard, but you can do it! GRR!

SandySu: So happy to hear you are on the mend. Being dependent when your independent is really tough. Be careful - that independent spirit may cause a "set-back"! 20+ years ago I gave the horses bcs I didn't want to get hurt - no health insurance only to be done in by my 8lb (at the time) puppy! (Broken ankle) Just goes to show ...

Yes - not being able to sleep is a real PITA! I amuse myself w/ watching the horse channel! Tom Pierson is my favorite trainer. I like Monty too - but Tom seems to be on more and does alot of explaining!

Gee - Do you have a spare bedroom to keep one of your mini's at home to keep you company!?! :D
Or maybe 1st Officer would loan his sheep to you! They don't need all the grooming!

Blues, I hope the damage isn't too bad or too expensive. We were lucky here, but I know a lot of folks lost everything they owned before Sunday night.

Well, the sunshine just poured on me today. I went out to the chiropractor to get my back straightened out, which went fine, then stopped and picked up some groceries that were on sale. When I went to leave there the Jeep wouldn't start, starter was not engaging or even running, so I called AAA. That took multiple tries just to get it to ring, then hold for a while before I got a humanoid. They wanted a street address, like everyone knows the street address of the shopping center you go to, right. Anyhow, they dispatched a guy to the same grocery store, five miles west of me in a different town. He finally got to me and just had a utility truck, trying to sell me a AAA battery I guess. Anyhow, I borrowed his jack handle, wacked the starter a few times and it started right up. So, on the way home I picked up a new starter and put that in when I got home. What happened to the old thirty dollar starter at the auto parts store? Maybe the same thing that happened to twenty-six cent a gallon gas? Am I stuck in a time warp? I guess compared to what others are dealing with I really can't complain, but that cleanup from the storm is still waiting to get done now.

Thank you for your thoughts, Awsum. You are having a time of things there as well. Hope all is good for you.

The insurance company doesn't want us to move things until they can get here. One building that was hit hard we used for veterinary care, a clean room, and storing and preparing food for the animals. A lot of the tools and supplies can be saved if we get them out of there to a safe place. So that's what we're doing. The insurance company has not been here yet.

Raven keeps giving me words of encouragement and with all the people who are here helping out, it keeps the morale up. And there are people and places far worse than what we have here.

My thoughts and best wishes to those affected by the storm.

Blues, I hate to be a pain in the ...., but you did take photos and/or videos of the damage before you started any cleanup, right? I'm only dealing with some, ok a lot, of twigs and small branches and a ton of leaves. Now that power is back, I what I pass off as "normal" again.

I will say that a lot of memories are gone from the shore. My kids and I spent many summer nights on the Seaside and Point Pleasant boardwalks, and days on the beaches for that matter, when they were younger. Now, it's all gone which was really inevitable. So far, I haven't heard of anyone getting killed along the shore and hope it stays that way, enough people have died from "Sandy" already.

Blues, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for for all you did for our country. I lost two of my best friends and a first cousin in Vietnam. I know the Heroes welcome didn't come at the proper time from most of our fellow countrymen but believe me when I say it you are a Hero in my heart and thank you for giving all when it counted. I have rode to the Wall every year since 1983 to Honor the fallen and pray for the souls that returned without the welcome they deserved. I understand PTSD in a way most will never comprehend. Two of my College roommates (First Year) were just back from their tour and after hearing the atrocities they endured I was humbled beyond even my own understanding of grief and pain and what a thankless job they did in the name of Freedom. My club was founded by Veterans from the Korean War and my Father (God rest his Soul) was a Marine and served in the so called Korean Conflict plus a 3 year tour in Vietnam from 1954 until 1957 as part of the so called advisory troops that were sent in country to train the south Vietnamese forces. He returned with a Bronze Star and Purple Heart which I still have and treasure to this day. He was just a grunt and in 20 years of service never made it above the rank of Gunnery Sargent. My Father was one of the original members of my MC and we hold all Veterans of Foreign Wars in the highest esteem possible and have several Rides for the cause every year. Before I go to far and sound like I'm preaching I would just like to say Thank You for doing what you did so the rest of us could remain free even if some used that freedom to shame and discredit the efforts of the men and women who gave all for a country that didn't understand what the price of freedom costs, [Rant Off]
